I have been visiting this Resort for years. I have also stayed in almost every room and I must say that El Caribe is renovating the place nicely. This time we stayed in the bigger suite and the view was BEAUTIFUL.Now dont get me wrong, they still have to UPGRADE their appliances, hopefully they will do this once they replace all the old furniture, which they are. Housekeeping, they are always been GREAT!!! Now, front desk Staff and YOU know who YOU are... PLEASE work on your ATTITUDE. You are the first person that the guest see and if you have a NASTY ATTITUDE, why would anyone want to go there. Mask wearing was encouraged which is very appreciated especially during this time. I will stay here again.

Older hotel with very friendly, helpful, & responsive staff. Fantastic location directly on the beach with beach access, great views and breathtaking sunrises from the balcony of our oceanfront room. Obviously, not as fancy as some of the newer resorts and hotels at Daytona Beach but comparaby speaking El Caribe was significantly less expensive for a nice oceanfront room with a kitchenette and particularly comfortable king-sized bed. Our room was clean & the amenities, pools, and the grounds were well kept, especially for an older resort. (Did I mention the breathtaking sunrises?)The front desk manager (Sega) was especially welcoming & friendly, and everyone from housecleaning to maintenance was helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend El Caribe for a fun getaway and a very positive overall guest experience for the price.

All in all, I was pleased with my stay here. There were a couple little things that I feel could be improved, some upgrades and renovations to the property. But other than that, I was satisfied. The customer service is great! My son and I had an issue with the lock kit locking on our first room. They didn’t hesitate to move us to another unit. The second unit was much better. The view was great from our balcony!

For the price, this place cannot be beaten. The staff is friendly; shout out to Pam, Sega, and Terry for their help. They are also extremely accommodating with the choice of room. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Excellent Location. The Staff here is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are AMAZING! The entrance doors to the rooms stick a little when you close them due to the elements but other than that excellent get away. The view from our room was very relaxing. Thank you El Caribe.

Really good prices for the rooms. The breakfast is pretty good, you get a nice view of the beach, staff is okay at best. Good location for the price you can’t really beat it.

Check-in time on site said 11a, office staff pointed out a 3p check-in time was in the notes. I had to buy a cooler wkeep the fresh food I brought to celebrate a birthday fresh. The inside of the room was refreshing, well kept and appointed. The pools were dirty and the general area was wanting some power washing, I understand the ocean beats things up, however being in season should anticipate needing more maintenance. Perhaps some prettier landscaping would help me remember Caribe. The outside is what calls us during these pandemic changes, a pretty tropical getaway would make for better memories. Their prices are great and they were packed during our stay. My family loved their day at the beach and looking forward to something new on my next stay.

I loved it!! Not fancy but has everything you need .. good for family vacations and perfect for getaways. It has a spectacular view and good service. Thank you Sega for your excellent customer service.

The room itself was very nice with a gorgeous ocean view. Balcony had no privacy in our room but other rooms had it and the bathroom was so small we couldn’t even shut the door while using the toilet. The bathtub was completely rusted out also. I didn’t want to use it bc it looked so nasty

Great ocean view but bathrooms were very small with rust/stains in the bathtub and there was no privacy on the balcony on the North tower where we were located. Customer service is good but not worth the money spent in my opinion. Might come back if the prices are better fitting to the resorts condition.

The rooms were really small compared to the pictures. Especially the bathroom. The doors were messed up. The a.c was bad too. But the view was magnificent though. Nice front desk staff even changed my room with no hassle. We will not being going back. The price for that tiny room was not worth it.

Way too pricey for what you get. Bathroom can fairly fit a person comfortably and I’m a petite person! Let’s not get started with the “continental breakfast” because even though it was a grab and go due to Covid, bagels were wrapped in mold! What is that?...They do not exercise wearing a mask let alone the elevator, and bed bugs!

Pam at the front when we called about a bag we left was amazing and very helpful. The room was beautiful had issues Saturday night with the AC and the floor drenched in water from the rain called the front desk and within an hour Tony from maintenance was up there replacing the AC and drying the floor ver polite and friendly. Woke up to our rug soaked again in the morning called the front desk just to let them know because we were checking out. They sent maintenance back up and they were amazing. I have your website saved to my favorites. We may have been walking in water in our room but how can you complain when your staff was so amazing and friendly.

The room smelled bad ! The a.c. was not blowing cold. the fridge wasnt getting cold. Leaked water from the fridge. the place looks good in pictures but up close looks dumpy. The landscaping and lawn was over grown. For 112 dollars its way too much i expect better for that kind of money on off season. Would not recommend

Service was wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was good, yogurt, doughnuts, Danish, juice, coffee, bagels and fruit. They are working on putting in new windows and there was some stairwell painting happening to! Point being they are working on somethings which is great. Our room was great, it did need a little updating mainly in the bathroom and kitchen area. I only gave 4 stars due to the older bathroom but everything was very clean. Our view was perfect!

Location is excellent! The rooms were nice enough and very spacious. However, the majority of the staff were unpleasant and rude. The housekeeping staff that we encountered were excellent and seemed to be doing a great job with sanitizing rooms between guests. All other staff members we encountered have no business working in the service industry. Guests were scolded for bringing bags and using the cups with lids to take the grab and go breakfast back to the rooms (even though all the signs said to take your breakfast to your room due to covid). The front desk staff were rude and disrespectful. One went so far as to call me a liar when I said I received an email confirming my late checkout request, saying that they dont communicate through email. When I showed her the email, I got an Ok, youre good rather than an apology.

Nice resort right on Daytona Beach. The Ocean view rooms and balconies looking out at sea are very pleasing. My whole family enjoyed our stay. The only complaint I have is that our room had a funny smell to it. Otherwise it was perfect.

This place had a great staff and the rooms were clean. It was very outdated and a little run down looking. The biggest positive is they are beachfront. This place just didnt make me feel like I was on an oceanfront vacation.

Positive: The room inside was nice Negative: The outside looked run down. The room could have been better kept the were rust stains in the bath tube. The towels had stains on them. No safety locks on front door or balcony.

Location is great, seems like ALL rooms have a balcony, the vast majority of these are oceanfront, with sweeping views of the Atlantic. A handful are off to the side of the building, which are considered oceanview, not oceanfront. Two adult-size pools, and a third small-ish one for kids. If youre on a budget, the price is right for being oceanfront. Friendly staff at the front desk, easy check-in process starting at 4p and check out is at 11a. IHOP is a 2-3 min. walk, theres a pizza/wings spot right across the street (I saw good reviews on it, I didnt try it though).Continental breakfast is served starting at 7:30a. Breakfast area is super small, I counted 6 (4-person) tables... They had doughnuts, muffins, bagels, yogurt, cereal, some fresh fruits, juice, coffee and milk. On May 18th, I had almost had cereal with EXPIRED MILK - 3 days old.... date on milk served on 5/18/20 was 5/15/20, pics to follow. Previous reviews state the place has been remodeled, if so, room 604 was definitely not, it was as run-down as you could ever find. It was dingy looking, stained carpet, moldy lamp shades, dirty balcony, linens were not the best either. Seems like previous guests had disconnected the smoke alarm, and housekeeping/maintenance didnt noticed, so we had no working alarm during our stay. Room 604 had two connecting doors one to the room on the left, and one to the room on our right, this made it super noisy especially at night, we heard everything happening in the rooms around us. Overall, price was good because of the amazing view, but it was too dirty for me, too noisy, I will not be staying there again.

Loved this hotel!! My husband and I stayed in the king oceanfront room. We were in love! The bathroom is definitely not updated and small but compared to everything else, that was a very minor thing!

AC did not work properly. Pillows hard as rocks. All poolside patio furniture covered in mold. Would not recommend.

I was here for a girls get away and we rented the suite. Everyone working there had great customer service skills. We were able to get into our room a little earlier than expected which is always nice. The room was also very clean. I was very pleased with my stay and we will return again in the future.

I stayed in el caribe only for 3 days on fri October 6 and October 7 and October 8 and i had fun!!!

Awesome. Myself, the Wife and 4 kids had an amazing time right on the beach. Pools clean, friendly. Slept all six comfortably.Elevator was a little slow when waiting to descend but no big whoop.

Loved my experience at this hotel ! Wasn’t what i expected exactly like the picture but everything was good my view was amazing ! I will be coming back again! Thank you. Only thing is wished they came in to clean or give us a couple trash bags but they did leave more towels and soaps but overall was good!

Just spend the extra $20 and go to the Hilton. Least comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Elevator smell makes you want to vomit. Staff was nice and although the room stunk of mildew and had gnats it looked mostly clean.

Beachfront and wonderful! Inexpensive vacation destination for my family of 5! The Penthouse Suite is as large as our three bdrm apt and much much nicer. I love the views of the ocean and the location of this resort allows for a non-crowded beach which is something I was fearful of before we headed to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this location. Will be back 100%!

Room was great. Cleaning staff was awesome. The only issue was the elevators. We had to walk down 6 flights of stairs almost every time we had to go down stairs. There were many calls and complaints from different guest but with no results. Be sure to ask for a lower level room when you book or be prepared to climb!

Positive:  the front office lady took time to show us 3 different rooms before she assigned us a room.. we got to updated to a suite at a discounted price and enjoyed a ocean front .. Negative: The hallways to the room were old but that didnâ€t bother us to much

Rooms were clean, grounds well maintained but the there were problems that needs addressed such as not enough hot water to shower , pool water cloudy, a/c in the room couldn’t keep the room comfortable.... now tonight part of the cable TV went out due to power outage (so I was told ) but instead of calling someone to get it fixed I was told it would be tomorrow....the front desk lady was nice and apologetic and offer to have someone in house to check the TV out but there was no use. This is my last stay here. Would advise anyone who wants a hot shower and clear pool and adequate A/c and TV this not the place . We come to the Daytona Beach area 3X a year and I’m looking for a home away from home this is not it.

Positive: Great location and we had a great view from our balcony. Negative: No, it was well run considering the Coronavirus. We didnt mind cleaning our room.

Was very dirty. The balcony door locked by itself when closed. Dishes were dirty. Bug in ice tray. Floor was sticky. Hair in fridge. Won’t be staying there again :)!

Oceanside suite. Slept my husband and I and our 4 kids. Decent size kitchen, and pools were nice. Views were AMAZING

The minute we walked in to the room we instantly regretted it. The smell that hit us when we walked through the door was horrible, we had damp towels hanging on the towel rack as if they were clean that also had lipstick on it. When I called the front desk I was put on hold for over 6 mins before I hung up and called back and got no answer and had to call back again to be able to speak to someone. We attempted to get our money back and they told us a manager wasn’t available and we couldn’t and then said we’d have to call the booking agency (ok fine) so we called the booking agency and couldn’t get ahold of anyone so we decided to tough it out and make the best of it. That was a mistake. Later the first night I was met with roaches in the shower. Ok, they’re dead let’s just get through the night. Wake up to find more roaches coming out the AC unit.This is disgusting and also all the appliances have rust the bathrooms are extremely small and I will never ever be coming here again. We came here for our anniversary and seriously when they say you get what you pay for, it is the truth. Honestly, the only good thing about this place is the oceanfront view.

The staff- very polite and worked with us when we decided to switch hotels.The view- Perfect!!!! We had the pent house suit and there is not one thing I would change about the view!The hotel- the living area and bedroom is nice and update. The bathroom is very outdated and has mold everywhere around the tub. The kitchen is outdated and all appliances are rusted.My main complaint has nothing to do with the staff or the hotel itself- the people below us were smoking weed all hours of the night and day so we couldn’t sit and enjoy the view. Additionally, we have a 1 year old and couldn’t let him outside because of the weed and they were blaring music all day and night.I’m sad we couldn’t stay because the view was beautiful! An updated bathroom and kitchen would make the penthouse suit nice too.

We really enjoyed our ocean front balcony. Our room was very clean but the resort is a bit worn. However, El Caribe made for a nice weekend getaway.

Pros: This place is right on the beach and has 2 pools and a kiddie pool. Theres plenty of seating and shaded areas. Also, Theres tons of grass space perfect for kids to play on. Theres an area for shuffleboard, basketball and bbqs. The rooms are nicely sized and kitchenettes have all you need. I believe all rooms are oceanfront and have great balconies. They offer complimentary continental breakfast which was perfect for grab and go to the beach. Theres a grocery store directly across the street.Cons: the rooms are a little outdated and the layout of the hotel was a little confusing... BUT, youre right on the beach so it didnt really matter.Overall I was satisfied with my stay and would return--especially for the price!

Right on the beach. Rooms have been updated. Close to restaurants, shopping & boardwalk. Very friendly, courteous & responsive staff. But checked out two days early because of mandatory meeting & snow storm hitting east coast. We were pulling a trailer so wanted to beat the storm across the mountains in NC & VA. Credit for two days refused even tho weve recd credit in previous years when we had to do early checkout. Sad, since we have patronized hotel for years.

Clean but rooms that end in 06 , 1106 up to 1706 have no sunrise view at all , tiny balconies. Only 1 elevator working on the south side. Only 1 ice maker for the whole motel..Lady checking us in was very rude.Will never stay here again . Hawaiian inn last year was was much better than here.

Great place for a beach get away!! Rooms were nice and clean!! View from the balcony was amazing!! Kitchenette had all the pots, pans, dishes and cookware to cook meals. All the staff was friendly and helpful!!

The only reason Im giving this place a star at all is because the staff were awesome. Talk about trying to make the best with what you have to work with! No water pressure, no hot water, the smell of dead fish and garbage as soon af you open the door. I highly recommend they bulldoze and start over, just keep the same employees.

Stayed here the first time in 1997 with my wife, her friend, her aunt, and her cousins family and had a blast walking on the beach at night with thousands of tiny crabs at our feet. Came back again in 2014, and most recently in 2019 for a cruise and Johnson Space Center visit before cruise. Whether staying for 7 days vacation or passing through, this place is safe, clean, and nice while not bankrupting your trip. Thanks again for the excellent stay and all of what middle Florida offers, we will be back again!

Friendly staff, room was clean, great pizza right across the street. Ponce Inlet was a great way to start a day. Try to avoid the balconies with shade if its a winter visit.

My husband wanted to do something different for our anniversary....He requested only one thing. -he says, if you want the best -book the presidential suite and have no doubts!This resort has become our dream location, stress free-even during a public crisis! (We could easily be quarantined and be pampered- just by being there! )Thank you to all of the staff - always attentive and sincere! We look forward to the next time !

The sink, hair drier, and towel bar were hanging out of the wall in the bathroom, and looked like it would drop at any moment. You could hear the neighbors screaming and carrying on and watching tv as if it was right in your room. We ended up getting some loud teenagers next to us and requested a new room where we had the same problem with the noise. The AC did not get cold. We were sweating and couldn’t stay asleep due to how hot it was and the loud people next to us. Our keys stopped working to get into the hotel room and maintenance couldn’t figure it out and manually let us in and said someone would come that night or in the morning and no one came to fix the issue and so we couldn’t leave our room, luckily we were checking out the next day anyways. Their was no water pressure in the shower as well. The beds were a full size, not even your usual two queens or a way to request what size bed you need. It was all the way around, just an awful experience.

Staff is AMAZING rooms are nice your back yard NO MATTER what room you stay in is THE BEACH !!! Basketball court shuffle board and you are 2 miles from boardwalk !!!! Even with the COVID restrictions they still pulled off a nice pick up and go breakfast. 2 pools an a kiddy pool are also available for you to use That were clean with picnic tables sundeck and all types of seating There really is nothing bad I can say. We will be back NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!

The rooms are fine and the facilities are nice. You are right on the beach and have private access. However, the front office is so unorganized and unprofessional. Literally the lady at the front desk is CLUELESS! It took 15 for her to check out the man in front of us and over and hour for us to get checked into out room. Hot mess. If we wouldn’t have prepaid we would have went to a different hotel we were so over dealing with this lady in the office.

Not covid compliment from staff to guest. Rooms had roaches. Very dissatisfied with our stay.

I was there on 7/20/18. First time. Staff was friendly and I was kindly surprised to get there and find that they upgraded our room from what was already one of the better suites! Thank you! Overall, it was a good stay for our 1 night. The room was huge, clean, and we had no issues in the South tower, other than some rowdy females next to us on the fifth floor. They were ridiculously loud, but we dealt with it.You will see many reviews about the upkeep of the hotel not being in good condition, but that was not what we saw. Yes, there were definitely little imperfections that we noticed, but not to the point of disgust by any means. Just some small cosmetic details. We also did not witness or see any of the construction that many have talked about in prior reviews....not that they are not still renovating, but we never saw it. Same thing for the elevators. They worked perfectly fine and were not slow.I think as you finish your renovation, if you go back through and take care of all of the finer details, this place will be top notch! Maybe I had one of the more renovated rooms vs others, but I can only speak to my own experience. I will be back! Thanks again!!!

This hotel is absolutely DISGUSTING! There were STAINS on the spreads, MOLD all over the carpet, the shower was DIRTY, and the toilet looks like it’s in a pubic restroom. Never ever bother wasting a dime on the place and the staff had the AUDACITY to say it was a nice floor, this place is atrocious.

The hotel is in need of some TLC, but overall not to bad. Nice deck off the rooms and right off the beach.

Perfect location logistics are awesome. Winn Dixie is right across the street. If pyou want to grill it is the bomb. You can alternate between pool grill and beach.

Location, location, location! The pros: The views from the bedroom balcony are AMAZING! The beds and pillows are comfortable. The rooms are clean. The continental breakfast is plentiful even if it is prepackaged. The cons: the towels although plentiful, they are not absorbent​. The furniture and decor are dated. When we were there last week, the hotel was under renovation.

We booked our stay for 2 nights but when we arrived to the room it was not what we expected. We seen the pictures of the rooms and thought they were a little more updated but they werent so we only stood one night. If it wasnt for Cat the front desk operator we probobly would of cancelled the entiere reservation but how she received us so welcoming and helpfull that we decided to stay one night atleast. Then we got charge 3 times the same amount for a one night stay we spoke to mark and he also took care of it right away we got charged only once and the rest is going to be reimbursed in 2 days due to the bank. And he said that if they dont return it to please give him a call he was also very helpfull. If it wasnt for the staff we probobly would of cancelled the entiere reservation. Rooms need to be more upgraded microwave blew up when we made popcorn. Fridge was not getting cold. Bathroom had mold everywhere and the room door dint have an extra lock which made my family and i feel unsafe.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was our first family vacation. Overall we were very happy. If I had to make any complaints it would be that we were put in a corner room with an obstructed view of the ocean, but still a nice view. Low shower pressure and the hot and cold on the shower were backwards. The ice machine in our building didn’t work. These are small complaints for we would probably stay here again. Daytona is beautiful and the people are great

My wife and I were bitten bybedbugs in this hotel. weshowed the bites to theManager, he said it could havebitten us elsewhere! he sworeat us! in the things we broughtbed bugs home. its terrible,we paid money to bring outbedbugs! well never comeback here

This is an awesome hotel it is like a small little living community everybody is nice to everybody it has a great beach view my only complaint is that the walls are very thin if I farted loudly the room next door might be able to hear it

The front desk clerk Sega is very welcoming. We had a 14 ft trailer, we parked it at no extra charge. The room was clean and the view was awesome. Great location, right on the beach
