Such a sad day in downtown Grand Rapids... the riots last night caused so much destruction and heartbreak in the city that we love!! It was amazing to see the community come together and take back our city and clean up the city. Boarding up businesses and smashed in windows is a sad reality of the unacceptable and destructive behavior of just a small number of angry people. Grand Rapids is not this kind of city and we will reclaim our city and bring it back better than ever!! Thank you to all of you who came out to show your support and help to support these businesses try to get back to some semblance of normal. Please continue to support all of the downtown businesses that we love!!

I have a lot of fond memories here from high school and college. I went here with my kids today and theyre was yeah and broken glass all over. They closed off half of Monroe Center so it was all for traffic. It is a more interesting place when there are events going on.

Rosa Parks Circle is a beautiful area in downtown Grand Rapids. The statue of the Civils Rights icon is a jewel. Theres also a statue honoring a great American statesman. We loved the art installations from the Grand Rapids Art Museum. There is an encampment of homeless people, which is unfortunate, but they werent a bother, nobody panhandling.

Rosa Parks Circle is one of my favorite areas in Grand Rapids. It’s constantly filled with events throughout the year. Whether you want to ice skate in the winter, dance in the summer, or enjoy a festival in the fall, Rosa Parks has it all. The city surroundings of the area is also very appealing. Check it out!

If you want to be in a place where it feels alive year round, this is the place to be. In the spring/summer they always have events going on. It may be concerts, community outreach programs, or even just people meeting here. The fall/winter they have the park as a ice skating rink; downtown in the winter with all the lights from the buildings makes it beautiful for winter. Its a great place and centralized right downtown Grand Rapids making the location perfect! If you are a tourist and this is your first time to the city please make sure to visit.

I really dont visit downtown. I have been to Rosa park at the Hispanic festival when they host it there. Not much to see but the stage. During winter they have the ice skating rink but I never do go. At night there are several homeless people who sleep in the grass area. So you have to be careful. So I think my rating of three star is okay.

I waited more than twenty minutes for the most terrible pair of skates. They hurt so bad and i couldnt walk in them. They were all worn out and breaking apart. Two of the employees laughed and said there was nothing they could do. Last year was wonderful, the skates, the environment the people... I what happened? No one offered my money back and i was on the ice for about 5 minutes trying to get off and hobble back.

Fun and enjoyable time for the family, just make sure to bring your own skates if you have them or get there early and be willing to spend some time waiting in line! For younger kids they have walkers to hold onto and I would advise to go earlier as an older demographic goes later at night and your kid might feel scared with many older and faster skaters flying around the rink. Overall theres lots of people going but its enjoyable with music and plenty of space for everyone. Staff is friendly and do their best to help you find an appropriate size and get things dispatched quickly and efficiently. Its a non expensive family outing that will be remembered!
