I absolutely love walking through the boardwalk. Doesnt feel like you are right in the middle of the city. Lots of space to roam through the whole park. Play baseball. Have a picnic. Kids can play. People are always friendly.

The boardwalk has been reconstructed, so it is a great place to walk. It is the end of October, so many of the colors are gone now, but it is still a delight. We often see deer.

A great park that provides a nature filled escape from the city life! Theres a walk way that goes through woods and over a marsh, baseball fields, and a playground. We frequently see deer, wildflowers, and other fun wild life on our walks!

I did not walk the trails, but the park and lot seemed clean and well-kept. It was an early, quiet morning when I pulled in and I was able to watch these deer come through with some little ones.

Great little multifaceted park. The walking trails are better than expected. Going through the wetlands, its a little narrow, but I have a double wide stroller for 2 girls. It was still wide enough. Also, the planks on the boardwalk are well maintained and close enough together that there was no issue of an uncomfortable ride, even with the small wheels on the stroller. I can imagine that some days the bugs are atrocious, but on a 70 degree day in September, it was just fine.

Great nature walk. My kids love going for walks here because they feel as if theyre far out of the city, kids. The walking paths are well maintained and pretty quiet. You can definitely run into some wild life, like deer while on your walk. We cought a glance of a couple deer near by, which was neat to see.

A pretty little respite from the suburbs. Mind the other park goers, and remember your PPE. Its hard to social distance on the board walk.

I loved this park, visited today for the first time. There was a small playing area for children, made entirely of wood logs. After that we walked onto the boardwalk over the marsh, a deer jumped to cross the boardwalk 5 feet in front of us! Plenty of wildlife to see close up.

Love that they remade the platform and made more seating and room for people to get by. Beautiful view of the red wing black birds and seeing deer quite more due to less people walking the trails. Id definitely recommend someone here !

If you want serenity and to see deer Huff Park is the place. It can be super romantic, or it can be a family learning experience, or a peaceful walk by yourself. A sorta short trail, I usually see visitors walk it 2-3 times a visit. Youll see all walks of life there and everyone greets you instead of the awkward stare down. Everyone you pass says hi.Another thing I was really impressed with was every person you came upon that was stopped admiring deer would tell you so you could see it too! It doesnt matter if they or you saw 10 deer, you have to stop and look no matter what. Theres something peaceful about that place. I was really intuned with nature like were not alone in the world. I hate to tell everyone about such a secret place but I know some people need this right now. I hope to see you there, just look for a blue wagon thats my daughter and I. Enjoy friends!!!

Great little slice of marshy parkland right near my home. I love walking the boardwalk trail with my family and seeing deer, birds, and frogs all over the place. Out on the path, you can feel really isolated from the city despite not going far. The playground is small and the parking situation isnt great, but otherwise its a very worthy park. Also, its so nice to be able to pet so many dogs every time we go for a walk!

Been a bit since I was last here, but the new boardwalk was night. It was quiet and peaceful, birds everywhere. The few people I did see seem to be enjoying themselves. From joggers to sightseers, the were all expressing happiness. I got a few nice pictures, but I dont really care for the new cheap playground, they could have left the old stuff. Progress I guess.

My wife and I love walking through Huff Park on the various trails and if youre quiet you can see deer sometimes feeding in the background in the brush. It gets a little more difficult in the summer time with the heat and the mosquitoes, but the workers do their best to keep them down. The city is to be highly commended for keeping this beautiful Park open for all to enjoy. If you have not been there yet, it would be well worth the drive to go and enjoy Gods beautiful nature in the heart Grand Rapids.

Huff Park is scenic and wonderful for walking. Pokemon Go players can find several gyms and pokestops here. Photographers will enjoy the variety of wildflowers and the different landscapes that exist side-by-side one another. Many pollinators buzz about in the marshy area, where a wonderful boardwalk meanders through the tall grass. Watch out for panhandlers, never explore alone!

This is my favorite park in GR! The improvements to the boardwalk are wonderful; my dogs and I like being able to use it year-round now. Every visit we are able to spot some kind of wildlife, from an assortment of birds to a decent-sized herd of deer. However there is a huge problem with people letting their dogs off-leash here.

We really loved it here! We were actually not expecting it to be as awesome and it was. We loved the wetland walkway as well as all the awesome wild life we got to see so up close! The deer where very happy in their home there and didn’t mind people walking by and leaving th to their peace. It was the first time I was able to see a deer that up close and calm, enjoying its dinner. They have a short loop and a long loop here so be sure to check your route if you don’t want to take the long one. As there is one way in and one way out

Used to be a great park but in the past couple years it fell into disrepair. Now they have begun construction to restore it to its former glory. Huff park has about 5 miles of boardwalk that goes through a marsh/lake. It also has a new playground and 4 baseball diamonds where many games are held. A great place to bring your family, or to walk your dog.
