This park is a great park for anyone. Fairly easy to get to from I-77 and the south side of Charlotte. It has been renovated from years ago. So much more to this park than I mention here...sports fields, sand volleyball court, etc...go to website for full description and hours. I spent my time at the pond. Paved walkways around runoff pond. Several big open shelters near the pond. Benches. Water fountains in water. A couple wooden walks over parts of the water with rails including low areas in rails for those in wheelchairs. Kids play area. Bathrooms. Recycling drop-off is close to parking lot.

Awesome park with something for everyone. There is a man made lake, a play ground for toddlers and big kids, a bike trail and 2 basketball courts!There is also a little sand box with an excavator arm for kids to play and a book exchange box with free books!Plenty of seating areas too so you can relax while the kids play. I love coming here and my kiddo always has a blast.

Beautiful park! Great lake to walk, skip stones, fish, hunt for frogs or turtles. Family all had a blast!

Really nice place very close to my house. There seems to be a variety of different things to do very accommodating to adults as well as kids of any age.

My daughter and I love this park. Theyve fixed it up a bit and its even nicer than before. Its close to where we live so were able to visit regularly

This is really an awesome park! This is my first time here and I made a last second stop after work to get some walking in! Fantastic views, plenty of shade, and great nature settings as well. They also have a good looking playground that I will have to bring my girls back to some day. Overall it was a great time!! 5 Stars!!

It is a nice park even on a cold September day. My nephew Trevor asked to go there on his school break. We had fun... & he made friends. He also liked the lake.

Love this park! Not too large, easy to find parking, plenty of benches, decent amount of picnic tables, and nice covered pavilion. Calm wildlife. Itll be 5 stars once the bathrooms reopen.

I play pokemon go, this is one of my favorite places to come play. There are easy poke stops and the scenery is nice. I would definitely come back to have a BBQ or party. So many turtles to see

Im only familiar with the tennis courts and they have been newly renovated and are in great shape to play.

Great location for a flag waving! Park rangers and CMPD kept us safe, and the bathrooms were CLEAN and OPEN!

Clean. Good place to walk around with friends. Some people were wearing mask, others were not. There is a sign asking people to where masks.

I dont know a lot about the park itself but the tennis courts have been resurfaced and are in great shape. They do have some very busy times though.

Great park for an easy picnic spot or a walk around the lake. It also connects to the LSC greenway, which is where I usually end up.

The courts are in very good condition. Nice to play at this place.

Two playgrounds, one for toddlers and the other for older kids. Lots of swings available, including infant/toddler swings. The park is clean and has both shaded and sunny areas.

Lots of improvements and upgrades have been made. Newly paved walking path is a plus. Landscaping and a new picnicking area. For 2020 its going to be a great place for the family. Charlotte has really worked hard to make this a family friendly environment. Enjoy!

Its just nice small family park with ball fields

Calm and pleasant park area. Good for walking, jogging and relaxing around the trees.

Decent amount of tennis courts and good shade. Courts reserved too often for lessons and gates are sometimes dont lock properly and fences are too high in some places where balls skirt through.

A lovely place to destress walking/running watching the birds, frogs, dragonflies on and around the lake. Be it the bridge over the end of the lake or one of the jetties over the water, you can catch a turtle surfacing to take in some air only to submerge again. There are a number of places to sit and just relax enjoying some quiet time from the Hussle and brussel of todays life.

A great place to meet people to socialize or do some form of outdoor athletic activity. Its pretty and not too crowded.

Great park!!! Great seating for adults. Lots of swings. Awesome fort and ship play structures. The boy loves the sand box, but could use more sand. Basketball courts. Dont have to mess with all that mulch you do at other parks. The play sets sit on a nice blue padded turf. Its a relief for the joints.

My son loves this park! Great place for family fun and for the kiddos to play. I love that they even have a pond with a walking trail. We could go here every day and never get tired of it!

A beautiful evening watched the sunset and walked around the pond, lots of work on the trails and paths have been done recently so its very new in some areas.

Love this place! The hours are wrong, it’s open dawn to dusk. They do close the exits at night. Really nice park! We bring the dogs and go on the biking trails with them. There’s a small creek back there that’s a hidden treasure.

This is a nice park with a large play area for children. One playground is best suited for toddlers while the other one is best suited for bigger kids.The are a number of different athletic fields with what nice facilities. There’s also a new picnic shelter that has several large charcoal grills.This park also has a nice lake with a paved path around it. 4 laps around this lap is approximately a 5K. Another great thing about this park is that it’s connected to the greenway so adding extra miles onto your lake loop is very easy to do.Last tip is that there is a bulk recycling area within this park where you can take your overflow recyclables.

Great place for the grandchildren!

We were able to physical distance and enjoy nature. The others in my party commented how clean the restrooms were kept.

Great walk, connected to wider city trail system

Love the park. Could have more doggie bag stations and better signage on East Blvd. Can be hard to find for such a big park, and if people have to search too long for a dog bag, they are more likely to just leave the on the ground.

Our favorite getaway for a nice day drive to Charlotte and hike around the lake. Love the scenery and the ducks. Very peaceful.

Theyve made some improvements and the park looks a lot nicer. The trail has been redone in many parts and I think theyve improved the lighting, too. Its great for getting those steps in!

First time visited and I loved it! I sat for an hour or so in the late afternoon with a friend at the covered area with picnic tables under it by the lake. The setting sun was facing me and the fountain/lake in between. I found it a warm (in December) spit to enjoy a long distance view (parking lot behind me). Im a senior citizen and found the walk not far at all (1/2 city block or less) and clean, open bathrooms just a jaunt away too. Ill go back for more interaction, but this is a park Ill return to quickly!

This park has really great playground for the different ages. My kids love it. There is also nice walking area around the lake, if you feel like making a walk. Couple shelters, one right next to playground is making it a great kids birthday party spot

Hadnt been here in many years. A lot of improvements, especially to the playground. Highly recommend this place for kids. Give it another try if you havent been here in a long time. My last visit was in the 90s.

Kids love this park

The park has a huge multi-part playground which even has an area for the younger kiddos. Its kept clean and I even feel safe walking away from our stroller parked at the edge of the playground.

This park is amazing!It has the pond, the trail around it, turtles, ducks and geese in it. We saw chicks too! Adorable!!!The playground was the best part. It had several equipment for balancing for kids. Walking on ropes, balance beam and a few suspended discs. Each playground equipment was so unique and cool that we could have easily spent a whole day there, weather and time permitting.There are restrooms, tables and benches to enjoy a snack.When we were there, there was some construction going on. It’ll probably be even better yet next time we go there ;)

Nice walkways. The greenway is why I go; the parking is usually less crowded...

Great place for the whole family

This is one of the nicest parts that Ive been to in a while. Has a wonderful playground for children to use their imagination and create their own obstacle course adventure. Several fields for sports events. A beautiful Lake to walk around day or evening. Very inviting atmosphere and relaxing.

My kids love this playground. Its big, and has lots of great obstacles for children of all ages to navigate and learn.

Mountain biking trails here are gnarly! Caught some wicked air. It’s technical and if you’re into MTB, it’s so much fun. I’ve been riding for 4 years and I found so many new obstacles that challenged me in a good way.

Great park for my kids. Plenty of swings and slides for them to enjoy. Only downfall is no bathroom near (well not that I know of) so I have to time my park trips around bathroom breaks. Thats like every park though so no biggie
