I really enjoyed the exhibits. There is a very diverse selection of artistic expressions to enjoy. My visit was considerably dampened by the Museums insistence upon the wearing of the Mask of Compliance. Otherwise, an enjoyable experience.

We are pleased to say our new $60 annual membership allows us into over 50 museums in the South. Looking forward to finding them all. The Mint was really enjoyable and truly worth it. A one time entry is $15 per person ( may seem a bit high if you dont get to come back). But the $60/year (includes 2 people) is a great deal if you search out the many other museums included. Photos of the art installations are understandably not allowed, so we cant attach any. Their gift shop is free to all, regardless of a paid museum visit. Its well worth a trip and return trips. Great variety of gifts.

For me it was a good experience. We went on Wednesday evening and entering to the museum was free. I enjoyed all the art work in this museum, specially the paintings. But my boyfriend find it boring. I guess it depends if you are a museum person or not. It was beautiful and interesting. (I think the first Wednesday of every month the entering to the museum is free, but better check before go).

This is basically Charlottes The High Museum thats in Atlanta. Love the modern artwork and local artists. Enjoyed every single exhibit and they seem to change fairly often to make you want to keep coming back. The area is smack dab in the middle of Uptown so after hitting this museum, you can easily walk somewhere to eat. Dont forget to explore all the gift store trinkets and handmade jewelry! Looking forward to what they put out in the future!

I visited two Museums while in downtown Charlotte. I was immensely impressed by the Mint. I thought the collection of Contemporary Art was impressive, eclectic and extremely interesting. I immensely enjoyed the architecture the interior spaces for the building as well. The museum is accessible for both an experienced aficionado and the average layperson. While I was there, they were having a special exhibition of theater and television costumes. It was a great exhibition I particularly enjoyed. I hope to return at some point in the future.

Ok I am not an art fan. I like some photography but not a huge fan of museums. We happened to go on a free day. For free, this was fine. There was also a groupon for $13.50 for 2 people. Probably worth that but not the regular $15 per person price. 3 floors, but the 5th floor was something with light and Im not really sure what it was. Felt a little like a construction site. Theres a museum store. Took us about 30 minutes to see everything. Again, if you love art and can get a groupon, might be worth it. We walked but i think theres an underground garage and they validate up to 2 hours.

Charmed by the massive yet beautiful outside, we were treated to a truly exciting and compelling collection. We loved the American art, with sprinkles of costumes and sculpture, going from early America up to contemporary art. The spaces are open and flexible, with nice touches and perfect lighting, inviting you to linger at your favorites (and we had several). The craft/sculptural floor is also stunning, with a few massive works and small works that you simply want to absorb. We even loved the temporary installation! The Crayola scribbled drawings were AMAZING. There was tons of art with stick figures and even houses. I also was blown away by the macaroni pictures where they glue them into shapes. One piece on display had exquisite use of alphabet shaped pastas. Such stunning and intricate words such as “dog” and “mom” were sprawled across colored pieces of construction paper. Finally, there was a section where Playdough shapes were on display. There were squares, circles and even an asymmetric heart. All in all a great experience with fabulous masterpieces.

If youre a fan of Modern Art, then this is a must-see when youre in Charlotte. There is some traditional art at this location, but it is the Modern Art that tis the most stunning. It is well presented in a series of galleries that are spread over three floors, with both elevator and escalator access. The museum is located in the heart of downtown (they call it uptown) with parking right next door. The Museum Store is unusually large for a smaller museum like this, and although a bit pricey, they have a good selection of items related to art and the museum.

Great museum for contemporary art fans! I loved the featured exhibits they had. Small museum but good. General admission ($10.00) is pretty reasonable (student discounts are available with school ID- $8.00) I would say you could see all the highlights of this museum in 1 hour and 30 minutes! Skip the gift store though! In my opinion it is overpriced although some things are a good deal. But you will pay tourist prices! I do recommend this museum for older adults, middle aged and older people. Not really a kid museum though (go to the NASCAR Hall of Fame for the kids).

I visit both of the mint museums and this is for sure my favorite even that the other has a better outside space .Lots of modern art, lots of local artists that is very interesting. The children room is very well thought and little one could stay there forever if we let him . The space is divided in different areas inspired by different art pieces from the museum. There is also a art area where children can paint, do collage , do origami etc...In the bathrooms there is a changing tables and in the 3rd floor you can find a special room for nursing or changing also .Park in the garage next to it , $5 only during the weekend with direct elevator to the museum .The 3rd floor was my favorite besides the children’s room .

Im sorry to disappoint, but Im not a fan. I love museums, Im not trying to be boushie but these 2 museums arent really museums. For $30 you can visit both, not sure why there are 2. Each one barely had enough in them! They should combine what they have in both into 1. It was a total waste of time to go to both. It was more like an exhibit, not a proper museum. Ive been to several museums, my husband and I were so disappointed. The total cost for the day, not including gas was $40 for about a 25-30 minute walk through each place this included parking downtown. I appreciate the thought and the effort, but there really isnt anything to see. Please combine the 2, and then it would be a small museum but at least worth the tripSo disappointed, with the heat if it had been AMAZING, which it wasnt then I would have gotten over the heat. So if you have ABSOLUTELY nothing to spend $40 on go. The one nice thing your ticket is good for 2 days, but why I ask its a 20-30 minute walk through at best.
