Visited Carowinds for the first time this year! We enjoyed the southern tasting menu items and rode a few rides. Reduced capacity was great for social distancing but ride times were a bit long due to additional cleaning and/or fewer available seats on rides. The performances were great, saw several music acts and a few dance parties at the main stage area. Great costumes. Smores area with many fire pits was perfect after dark. Crafts, bubble snow and Santa parade were fun as well.

Went to Taste of the Season last night and had THE BEST time. It felt like we were at a VIP event because of how few people were there. Lines were super short, just took a couple extra minutes because they had to sanitize the rides each time. The lights were beautiful and the performances were awesome. So thankful for Carowinds and all the employees who worked hard to help us have some normalcy in this crazy time. Cant wait to go back!

Weve been several times but I always love going during scarowinds. I hate that they canceled it this year but that should speak highly of Carowinds and how much they value their customers over money. If you do get a chance to go, I highly recommend waiting until October! It was so much fun to do the walk through haunted houses and attractions. If you dont like to be scared, they do sell a no boo light that will tell the spooks to leave you alone... but its so much more fun to interact with them!!

The decoration was beautiful and there were lots of festivities and entertainment. However, on the website Carowinds advertises 14+ rides but after the kiddie rides, there’s only about 5 adult rides open at this time. Three of those are roller coasters including the Afterburner, Copperhead Strike, and the Ricochet. The rest were closed due to “end of the year maintenance”. If you’re looking to go for the roller coasters, now’s not the time. If you have kids it’s great entertainment and most of their rides are open.

This was my first time going to Carowinds and I was not disappointed. They are prepared and following guidelines so expect to wait on line but there is no difference from any other Amusement park prior to covid. Decorations and the food tasting made it special but the performance around the park was my favorite part, special the 3 girls at the carousel where exceptional and to make even better there is a champagne bar right next to them. Lastly, first time I see Santa on a Stingray (lol) guess business is good!!

Carowinds is poorly managing personnel.... while lines are short they take a very long wait because the one attendant attempts to clean all seats on a ride with no help...meanwhile enjoy being badgers by the excessive number of carnival game attendants while you walk. Went about a year ago. AMAZING THEME PARK! Nighthawk is absolutely amazing, flying coasters are so cool. Intimidator Carowinds is an inversion-free ride that has some sweet hills and airtime. Afterburn is a coaster like all the others, but it’s incredibly smooth, and is a suspended coaster. It’s underrated. Copperhead Strike is one of my favorites. The line took an hour, but it was worth it in the end. Awesome addition to Carowinds. The Flying Cobras was a bit rough, but nothing much. The suspense as you climbed up the lift hill was killer. Carolina Cyclone, was PAINFUL. Beware! It’s an old ride but it was so rough I legit had a headache. If you don’t go on it you aren’t missing out on a lot. Fury 325: really fun. It seems similar to Intimidator Carowinds but I like it a bit better just because it’s the Fury. It doesn’t have all the sharp turns like the Intimidator 305 at KD. Vortex: cool stand-up coaster, which I heard is only one of four in the US.I liked this place a lot, you should definitely go some time!

How are all these 5 star reviews showing up within the last week to a few months ago when it has been closed the entire time? Sounds a little fishy. My last visit, however, was a little disheartening due to the number of people taking advantage of the Fast Pass line without actually having a Fast Pass. To start off we purchased all of our tickets online. This included the parking pass, the tickets to the park, and the fast lane PLUS passes. Everything went seamlessly. We arrived at the park at about quarter to 10 a.m., which is opening time. Our parking pass was scanned and we pulled into the parking lot and I actually found some shade from a small tree to park our car underneath. We loaded up and went to the front gate and showed our printed out tickets after going through the security check which was done quickly and efficiently.Once our tickets were accepted, we went over to the FAST LANE PLUS picked up our wristbands for the day. Our visit was on July 1st and even though the park wasnt super crowded that day, we estimate that the FAST LANE PLUS pass over the course of the day saved as close to five hours of waiting in line. The cost is obscene, but its actually worth every penny. If this sounds like an advertisement for FAST LANE PLUS then YES it is. It helped our family so much to stay together in the park at all times.Personally no one in our group would have cared to go to Carowinds without the FAST LANE PLUS passes. We loved all the rides that we went on, camp Snoopy was a blast and we enjoyed the water park although we didnt do a whole lot in the water park.We spent most of our time on the fury, Copperhead, nighthawk, and the intimidator. We had a very leisurely day leaving the park between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to go to our hotel to eat, shower, and take a nap. Even with being out of the park for that many hours and spending quite a bit of time in the water park probably an hour and a half, we were able to ride roller coasters 18 times during our day.Since Im quite old, 18 rides on those roller coasters is quite enough for me and actually everyone in our group. I could see being a young teenager and getting upwards of 25 to 30 rides in a day with FAST LANE PLUS.So I guess what Im saying is purchase your parking, Park ticket, and the FAST LANE PLUS ticket online and you will have a great and fun day. By the way my personal favorite might be the nighthawk or the intimidator its a toss-up between those two.

What an amazing experience my family had. One of the things that I like best about this park is the covering that they had over the ride lines. At many of the amusement parks that Ive attended, the sun beams down on your skin making it hot and the wait miserable. But not here, they tend to have fans and coverings to block the sun from beaming directly on you. It doesnt cover you everywhere but its enough to not make the wait in line miserable. We all know what its like to wait in line for two hours, in the sun, beeming down on you, and youre thirsty, you have to use the restroom but youre too close to the front and too far from the back to get out of line. They have several rides that is definitely worth the admissions price to come to the park. My sons loved the Nighthawk. They also tend to have deals on the tickets. We were able to get our tickets for $45, which is the kids price. They also have an unlimited drink, which is about $15 but you can get it off line for $11. There is a $1 refill fee. One thing that I thought was really cool about this park is they have the park food but they also have franchises like Panda Express, Chick-fil-A and even Annies pretzel. I definitely plan to return.

Easy to spend a full day of longer. Can have huge crowds. Everything is expensive when they get you in and getting in is not cheap. Season passes should definitely be considered even for just a couple of days. It is an amusement park, so you know several things going in- it has thrill rides, it has fun rides, and it has kids rides. Sadly, it also means there are outrageous prices for food & drink, difficult/ impossible-to-win carnival games, and the potential to wait in long lines for a very short ride. This place, however, strikes a pretty good balance; the coasters, etc., offset the negatives for the most part. Great balance of modern and classic rides, Camp Snoopy is amazing for the little ones, and they have a great variety of food options. Recommended!

Honestly, I was a little disappointed when I visited during the holidays. The website made it seem as if more coaster would be open; however, only two real coaster were actually open. These were not even one of the large ones. While I understand that the cold weather and scheduled maintenance played a large part in the ride closures, I really wish the website had been more clear. Now on to the positives. If you have young children, or dont enjoy roller-coasters, or really enjoy Christmas decorations and lighting, this is a wonderful place to visit, especially considering the reduced holiday ticket prices. An hour before closing, there is a Christmas parade that runs through the park and lasts approximately an hour. It features dancing elves, Santa and Mrs. Claus, reindeer, etc. You can even participate in the parade and ride on the floats!I definitely want to visit this place again during the summer to get the full roller-coaster experience.
