Awesome small nature preserve. The outer loop is only around 1.5-2 miles, but there are a lot of connecting trails. The majority of the preserves trails run through grassland with a loop winding through the forest at the back, and there is also a pond on the property. The trails are mostly grass and dirt with a short section of gravel at the beginning. This is a great place to walk, run, and enjoy nature.

U can spend all day walking:)No water supply And restroom boxes at the beginning of kirks farms and after 1 mile.. no More nature calls:) meet and greet a lot of people through the stretch.

Cute little park for wildlife. Take your kids next door to the Community Park--this Nature Preserve is for dog walkers and nature lovers. It has a small pond and a little creek in the back. The trails are muddy after rain, so wear proper shoes. It is planted with lots of native plants that bloom in vibrant colors spring, summer, and fall.

Park has a better upgrade other than the medal slides they instead. Basketball courts are amazing including their tennis area. Water park is amazing other than people bringing their pets to wash there. Would recommend to anyone who likes the outdoors.

I truly love this place. Each season features new flora and fauna. It is generally fairly quiet and a peaceful respite from a busy day. Be careful of poison ivy and the occasional snake (mostly rat snakes). Be warned that there are visitors that do not observe the leash laws when walking their pets. Please be mindful of remaining on the walking trails. These are for your safety and for the preservation of the ecosystem. I often see photographers, visitors, and pets leave the trails. This puts you at risk, endangers bird nesting grounds, and damages the plant life. Enjoy the preserve for the treasure that it is. Also, pop over to the community park that is located directly across the street!

The place looks brand new and well maintained. One porta jon is available, but I believe full bathrooms are present at the park across the street. There are 2-3 miles of hiking trails but they leave something to be desired. Many of them wind through an old pasture and as such are open and exposed. That is not necessary bad, just not what I expected since most nature preserves Im been to are forested. You can walk around a small pond (no fishing) and get down next to the creek after hiking a short forested trail. Theres also a playground and picnic shelter. Seems like it could be a good place for bird watching if you are into that sort of thing.

Not a very well thought out park. At first glance it seems so nice, but we quickly tired out of things to do. These are the things that bothered us: No shade. Slides are way too hot. Only two swings. Not too many other things to do, especially for small toddlers.

This park is close to our house and I love the option for nice trails around the preserve. The playground is fun and unique, however, it gets extremely hot. There is absolutely no shade for the kids, which is why Im guess its not very popular. I wish there were just a few trees around the play area for some added beauty and shade. As a nature preserve, it could be a good opportunity to plant some native trees and an information plaque. On the whole, its wonderful to have natural spaces in our city, and this is always a quiet location for a peaceful walk, a hidden gem.
