One of the best, if not THE best, playground in Tallahassee. There is so much awesomeness packed into this play structure, 90% of which is shaded by huge live oaks. There are regulation size tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball fields, a pavilion, several benches and picnic tables, concession stand, and restrooms. A downside is it can be a little tricky getting in to park next to the playground, as it almost looks like a driveway. When leaving from the playground, traffic can only flow one way.

This is less than a mile from me and its perfect! I brought my 2 yr old to play and it was a wonderful time. Its completely shaded at the playground, theres a bathroom, its clean and good quality, theres a book deposit and a water mister which is a bonus. Great place to meet other parents and kids too!!

Nice place to bring the little ones, great little playground in the shade of old oak trees. Six tennis courts, baseball fields, handball and basketball courts. Also a large vacant area that is excellent for a pickup football game.

Nice little park, some baseball diamonds, a couple little rose gardens and a basketball hoop hidden in the trees. A little oasis right off Thomasville rd.

Its fun, but once you do stuff nothings there to do. Theres even a baseball court if you like that kind of thing. And tennis and basketball. The playground has swings and all kinds of different things.

I play Ultimate Frisbee every Saturday at Winthrop. Great group of people! Come join us, but be prepared to run! I am older than you, so stop your complaining.

This is a nice enough park with a baseball field, tennis courts, restrooms, and a playground. I didnt make it beyond those areas since I went to play tennis. At $5 a person ($15 for a doubles court), I found the the pricing too high for a public court in need of resurfacing. I feel like charging for courts like this creates a barrier to entry to the sport that makes it less appealing to new generations. Plus, they only seem manage it and charge when they feel like it, so you dont really know what youre getting. In my latest match, we were sabotaged by the lights failing to come on and could not finish. To the credit of the woman at the office, we were given a rain check.

Best park in Tallahassee. My kids always want to go daily during our visits to Tallahassee. There is a good size playground, some fields and tennis courts as well as restrooms open year round. Love this park and cant wait to go back

Im a lover of swings and this park has em! Also a tire swing and the playground is so much fun too! One is never to old to play on a playground!

Beautiful park with many activities for adults and children. The park is very clean and is conveniently located near midtown. There are soccer fields and picnic tables along with things for kids to play on. It is well lit and patrolled frequently by law enforcement. Actually,it is not a bad place to meet someone met online. It is spacious and well maintained

My favorite lounge with the dog under a large, shady Oak park :)

Located in the Midtown area of the city, this park is well-maintained and quiet. Has a baseball and softball field, open-air racquetball courts, playground, ample picnic tables and public restrooms. Plenty of space and grassy areas for lounging, kickball, walking the dog, or taking a stroll/jog.

This place was much nicer than other we visited close by. We stayed for hours while waiting and never got bored.

LOVE this park! We drove from Ft. Lauderdale with two children and needed an overdue reprieve to retouch our legs. We stumbled across this park and it fulfilled our need and more! Beautiful area featuring childrens playgrounds, bathrooms, baseball fields, large open fields for soccer/running, tennis, basketball, and walking trail. Close to amenities and very well kept. We would stop here again in a heartbeat!

Tucked away, close by busy streets, this city park has some open space, a Little League size baseball field, a ton of tennis courts, and a very nice little kids playground. All my kids played here when they were less than 10. If they got bored with the slides, etc. wed go look for errant tennis balls and throw them around.

Went here a lot as a child and took my children here. Great place for kids.

I love playing here during the day and always knew they kept the tennis courts lit up at night. One night I came to play at the racquetball court. Only the far side lights were on so it was totally dim and I could not see well enough to play that night. That being said, I do love the courts here.

Long, shaded park with a diamond, picnic shelter, bathrooms, a playgound, two handball courts and a top-notch tennis facility with six courts. Great for kids ans dogs.

Winthrop is a peaceful city park with a playground, ball fields, tennis courts, open spaces, two rose gardens, gorgeous trees, plenty of parking, and accessible restrooms..

There was something gross on our court...I wont go into details. People come play tennis & leave their empty water bottles & especially their empty ball cans with the sharp tabs laying around. There are trash cans all over the place so it would be nice if peeps used them. Lots of peels left too & that brings bugs. There is a score pole missing in one of the courts too that COT Parks & Rec needs to replace.

Excellent park in Tallahassee! Nice shaded playground and adjoining tennis courts and ball fields for free play. Bathrooms are also public and available for use with a family bathroom as well.

Winthrop Park is one of Tallahassees better parks for sure, especially for kids and families. It has great baseball/softball fields next to a really beautiful, shaded playground; which is great during the summer when its really hot and sunny outside. My kids and I have also played tennis and frisbee on the grass. i run around the grassy field about once a week. The location off Betton Rd. and near Thomasville Rd is convenient. The families and people are usually pretty friendly and during the summer they have summer camps for youth that are around the picnic tables. Thanks.

His park is nice, but what really makes it great is the fact that it is the last of a string of several parks, all connected by trails and greenways.It was a real surprise to follow each park and trail and link up to a new one, and makes for a great day hike/walk.this park in particular is more geared for sports and recreation than the other ones (which show off some very surprising amounts of nature/scenery for a string of parks in the middle of the city).Whenever I go to whole foods and have a few hours for myself, I like to walk the whole thing. Defiantly worth checking out, a real Tallahassee favorite.Very mountain bike friendly as well :D

It has a nice shade of trees for especially sunny days, has enough activities for kids without being too large and even has a large pavilion for extra protection or events.

Love this park! Its refreshing to walk around the park every now and then.
