You walk, run or bike a wide trail. Every quarter of a mile the trees open onto a beautiful lake view with a finger like extension of grassy land, surrounded by lily pads, and a bench to sit on. The trail branches into other trails including a canopy walk.

Really nice park, connects with three other parks in the area. The facilities were acceptable but the parking lot was a little rough. Has some entertainment for kids. The trails are extremely pretty, and at any point they are well populated but not so much that its imposing. Usually youll pass someone who says hello, its a fairly positive and safe park compared to some of the isolated trails around town. Great for taking out kids interested in nature. Being so well traveled it didnt have much visible wildlife, however, I was there close to sunset so I may have just missed the peak. The pictures were taken from the land bridge connecting the park to JR Alford Greenway. It has two benches facing opposite directions over the two lakes, and is a great date spot. There are plenty of fishing spots and its a good place to kayak. I suggest insect repellent.

Really nice local park with good facilities. Easy access to fishing break walls and decent trails (hiking/biking and canoeing). The park is usually empty untill 11:00 most weekends and gets somewhat crowded after that. The trail around the center lake has many locations to rest/picnic if the main areas were reserved or are busy.

Magical place with traditional Florida charm! Whether you fancy a jog, walk, bike ride or adventure in nature this is your place. The bridge extends into the tree tops and gives you a 180 unrivaled view of the lake. It’s also fun to stand over the railroad tracks and watch the train ! Bill’s trail is a hidden gem that offers many unique surprises, such as the “art lab” for the little ones. Watch for faces in the trees smiling back at you. As far as activities there are a number of biking and hiking trials that are very popular, fishing piers and grills for cook outs. Cadillac trail is stunning and also has some fun surprises. As far as parking there are 2 entrances that I know of with plenty of parking. Such a gem of a park. If you can’t tell already, I highly recommend

Sad to say, Ive been in Tallahassee almost 19 years and this is my first time coming to this park. I recently saw pics online and ended up there last week (April 2020) for the first time. I love outdoors and the water - great views and trails here.It also connects to Tom Brown Park as well as JR Alford Greenway. I havent ventured to this locations from here, yet, but I will.

Great place to walk, hike or ride your bike. Trails are easy enough you can take your kids with you. Pets are always welcomed and there are water pit stops along the trail. The bridge area is really nice to watch trains, or a great view of Piney Z lakes. A lot of wildlife in your path. A lot of gators in the pond and and on land. Good place to get some outdoor experience.

We found this little gem while doing a little exploring before heading back to Central Florida after a day in Tallahassee. Boyfriend and I were only at the park for about 20 minutes but enjoyed a walk out to the lake and our pup enjoyed chasing a couple of squirrels and leaves that she thought were some sort of critters. :) The park had a few trails and has a launch for kayaks or small boats. If I lived in the area Id definitely come to this park often. Great place for nature lovers!

Everything was beautiful. They have restrooms at the entrance and water fountains throughout the trails to keep one hydrated. It does get hot but most trails are shaded. Very very shaded. If its your first time just be careful because there are alligators in the lake. Other than than that they have bike trails, hiking trails and I think they also have a canoe trail.

If youre near downtown Tallahassee and like North Florida nature, this is a good park within an easy reach. Wetland birds and alligators are common here, and there is a paddling trail. Most of the land is wooded, making for easy walking. There is also mountain biking and fishing, though I am less familiar with these.
