I dont drink, but went here with some friends. I was super hungry, so I ordered their snap pea salad. My friends ordered the nut mix. Both were delicious.

It is a good place, beers etc, what the most impressed to me was the floor, it looks like 70 bathrooms

I honestly only come here for the cheap beer specials. The security and staff are cool, nice people. The dancers arent all attractive. But there is one I go back to again and again, shes attractive in spirit, physicality, personality and all... dont recall her name, but shes the one in the short black wig with long legs and piercings in her teeth.

Im a musician and I play at Royale every month. To me this is a perfect place to meet with friends, listen to very good live music (no cover) and enjoy the great variety of cocktails. Gorgeous bar!

Went for the happy hour on a dodger game day, because we were in the neighborhood and it seemed to have good reviews.Got the chicken nachos and the sliders from the happy hour menu. Price was definitely awesome! Our waiter was really good too! But the food itself was average. Burger seemed to be a bit dry. Nachos seemed to have been microwaved for the cheese to melt.Probably would not go back to eat, maybe for happy hour drinks only.

Came here to see some indie games being displayed. Excellent venue. Heaps of space both downstairs and in the upstairs sections. Great selection of beers on tap and friendly staff. Will definitely be back here in the future.

Whenever were in the Bay we always stop here. This is the coolest Jazz venue in town. For great music and very cold beer and drinks its no place like it.

This is exactly what I imagine when I think of a good local bar. Its not too crazy earlier in the evening so if youre looking for a quiet spot at 8 or 9 this is the place for you. It definitely picks up and by midnight the live music, friendly crowds, and haphazard pool games make it a really fun place to be.The drinks are well made, though I wouldnt recommend getting any old fashions as I hear theyre not the best. My vodka based mixed drinks were pretty good though!The live music was great, not too obnoxious and really set the vibe there!

Just discovered this bar the other night. It has a nice blend of old-style saloon craftsmanship accompanied by some modern decor and art. Beautiful dark wood bar with classic, comfortable stools and an awesomely friendly bartender and killer cocktails. Check out their old fashioned. They had a couple DJs playing some upbeat music, lots of reggae influence and at a respectable volume so you can still easily talk to one another. Cant wait to go back!

The Royale is one of the places you wish you had in your neighborhood but probably dont.I dont, but if youre reading this, you probably do.As someone who watched the place take shape we didnt know what to think. Quite a few years later, we get to see what Steve and his crew had in mind: A community. I love the fact that Im virtually guaranteed to find someone I know, find a good drink, or a good plate of food.What Ive liked best over the years is the smart and current selection of beers. Keep it up, Steve!

We had high expectations of this place. The atmosphere was really good and a full house on Friday night. Service was pretty good too.The food however was very underwhelming. Started with the wings appetizer. Breaded and some franks poured over it, subpar. My girlfriend go the fish and chips. The fish was flavorless and greasy. I got the beef sliders which were completely flavorless. I dont think they even seasoned the meat. I had to add mayo and catchup to to add some flavor. We finished with the bread pudding. Flavor was ok, but it was very dry.And then there was the 2.9% additional which I think is some sort of living tax?? Its not like the prices are low so this is just the owner stuffing his pockets.

This place is sure to please you wheather looking to shoot a game pool... Drop in for a beer or hang out listen to the entertainment feature that evening. The bartenders are some of the best in the city without question

Nice bar on Tenderloin. When I went (Friday night) there was live musIc. It has a second level from where you can see the stage and enjoy your drinks. Not to crowded.

Came here for cult movie night screening of The Princess Bride. Its a mellow crowd with fairly priced drinks. If the place is always like this I may have to become a regular. plus, I appreciate the no irony sign on the wall. Just wish they sold pitchers

Fun bar with a calendar of live music, DJs and other event offerings--though this is one of the better spots to just hang out that I know of in the neighborhood. Theres seating, a pool table, and a fab selection of spirits. (I know one of the bartenders in particular is alive to the delights of mezcal and has provided some nice choices.)

Absolutely love this spot! Probably the best place in the city you might not have heard of. Staff is peer less with a beer menu that is hard to match!

Cool dive bar in the downtown area. Theres a TV thatll most likely be playing some local sports game. A pool table and quite a lot of seating.

An unfriendly environment for outsiders. Came with a decently sized group of friends on vacation and the bouncer took 15 to 20 mins examining our out-of-state IDs without even comparing the picture with the person. Service wasnt interested in serving and a friend showing up late got rejected cause of his out-of-state ID even though he had the same state license as us.Came off as very pretentious.

A nice low-key neighborhood bar with lots of live music and a good selection of beer in bottles and on tap.

I used to love this place with the old owner, but she sold and the new guy is grumpy, unfriendly and really runs the place poorly. Shame really as it was my go-to spot to meet people, but the 3/4 length pool table isnt all that great.

I love this space as both a bar and a cafe as a place to study, however the beer selection is pretty average for SF and the coffee is terrible.
