One of the best local secrets in SF. Amazing Ethiopian dishes including a delicious take on sliders! Jazz every night of the week harkens back to the culture and feel of the city before the current tech boom devastated all that made SF unique.This should be a protected legacy business.

Two of my favorite things in one, delicious Ethiopian cuisine and live Jazz--I couldnt ask for more! The portions are perfect, even sharing with a friend I felt fully satisfied. They even have the option of family style plating here which is really the best way to share ethiopian food. Eating with your hands from one plate-- you feel connected to the textures and spices and love that is within each dish and to whomever you may be sharing with! The food is more expensive here than other places in SF and the Bay, but its definitely a nice treat to yourself and others with the beautiful ambience that accompanies.

Went there on a Monday night and they had live jazz music. Really good vibe! The Ethiopian food they offered was nice as well with some spicy and some not. The waitress was quite friendly recommending things to order and try. Their alcohol list is quite extensive. Overall a nice place with some really good live music!

My friend and I ordered two different chicken dish that turned out to be the same protein or at least they tasted the same. Anyway Ingera was yummy. Staff was nice. Cant tell you that I was blown away but it was adequate. Live piano performance. Was not too crowded for a week night dinner.

Such a vibrant place! Loved the live music and the food. The entire atmosphere feels so charged. The staff are super courteous and the service was pretty quick (considering how jam packed the place was).

Great atmosphere and good food. Also has piano nights every Tuesday. Only complaints are that portions are a bit small and is more meant for finger food rather than meals.

Cosy piano bar. We didn’t have a reservation but there was space in the bar area. We came on a Saturday and there was a live bluesy (?) band playing. We had to walk past the band as they were right by the door near the entrance. The place was packed with people eating, having a drink and enjoying the live music, it was a nice atmosphere with mood lighting (my photos didn’t turn out). We only had drinks and ordered the baklava for something sweet. Will need to come back to try the food.

First of all the band playing was great. They have an amazing cocktails. Try the Selassie if an Old Fashioned is your thing. The Ethiopian fare was decent too. My only con for the night was that they had the TVs on (muted) all the while the band was playing.

Oh my gosh Im so happy I found this place!! My girlfriend really wanted me to try Ethiopian food and I was a little nervous about it at first. She found Sheba and told me there would be live music so I agreed. We got there and I immediately liked the place. The music was super crisp and there was a hint of romance in the atmosphere. Our waiter was very helpful and wanted to make sure we understood the menu. We ended up splitting two vegetarian dishes and they were very delightful. Ethiopian is very different but for my first time trying it I really enjoyed it. I believe that most, if not every night, Sheba offers live music. If the quality of music is consistent with what I heard then Sheba is a perfect spot to listen to live music over dinner/cocktails.Overall, Sheba Piano Lounge is an excellent place and I highly recommend it. Ill definitely be coming back.

Went there on a Friday, atmosphere is amazing with great live music. Staff is very friendly and made good suggestions for the food. Drinks were nice too. Overall nice experience and a must go for Ethiopian food.

Our go-to pre-Fillmore show bar. Smooth jazz overhead that puts you right into that 1990 headspace, ok cocktails, mediocre beer selection and incredible Ethiopian food, if you need it. Quite often theres some live piano jazz happening, too.

The food was amazing! The pianist, Sherman Duran was exquisite, classy, and perfect for spreading jazzy, Christmas eve cheer!!!

Music was cool. Band was live and it was an intimate setting. The drinks were bad though and I was bummed when I drank my drink and it was sticky. Upon further inspection there was still lipstick on my glass as it was not properly cleaned. I also had the wings (which I dont recommend). Bartender was a cool dude though.

Got a chance to visit this place on a Saturday evening, it was relatively packed but we got our table in 15minutes. Like most good restaurants in SF, they dont accept reservations in advance. Overall, amazing Ethiopian food, cocktails were good and they have a different band playing as well. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I was really impressed.

Come and celebrate the weekend or just the end of the day. The place is clean. Service is attentive. Music is not bad. Cocktails are the best thing that I tried. Full bar. Bring lots of friends Dont expect good food, but food is edible.

It was comfortable, romantically lit, had live jazz music, a wonderful, pretty, friendly waitress, and the owner had this wonderful style and grace about her. We only came for drinks as we had previously eaten, but I had the Hakim and Sheba and while they werent as sweet as I usually enjoy my drinks, they were aromatic and spicy--not like Ghost Pepper, flames-coming-out-of-your-mouth spicy, but spicy like they had SPICE to them. It was wonderful and enjoyable. Would return if I ever came back to SF.

I went to Sheba for the live jazz music. Wine wasnt too good, but service staff was super, super nice, and the band was great! I will definitely go back to try the food that looked delicious, maybe a cocktail next time... And some more music. Ambiance is dim lights, colorful, could be somewhat romantic, however, when the band is playing... You are supposed to listen to the band there is no chance of talking. Sheba Ill see you again soon.

This place was disappointing. We walked in, having to walk past the band oddly standing in the entrance, and were seated quickly. The service from this point on wards was quite slow. The food was actually pretty good, but it was difficult to get more water or drinks.... We wanted to like this place as it touted live music and was in the neighborhood... But alas, we likely will not return.

As a local, whos worked in the industry for years, I can say this is my cheers bar. Neighborhood hospitality at its absolute best. Live music, a great warm atmosphere, and phenomenal service. My number one place for me to enjoy great music and company. If you visit, youll understand what it is to be a true local! Cheers!

AMAZING!!! I cannot express how amazing this establishment is! The food, the drinks, the music, the service and the ambience was above board. I have had Ethiopian food before and fell in love with the flavors so I wanted my boyfriend to experience this as well, and he said that it was one of the best meals he has ever had in his life! He also said that he wants to go every night we are in town lol. Thank you so much for this experience we had a perfect evening.

I previously loved this place, and I still love the food. However last time we came there the waitress accidentally knocked over our bottle of wine (spilling some) and in the process of trying to save it hit me in the head with the plate she was carrying. All this would be ok as accidents do happen, but she barely apologized and took no charge off our bill for the spilled wine nor offered us anything like a free dessert. I thought that was kind of poor service

First of all, that was the best kitfo Ive ever had! All of the food was outstanding and quite authentic. Service and setting were good too and the price was very reasonable.

Good food and great music - the best jazz I’ve heard in a club in SF since Yoshis closed down. Combine that with excellent Ethiopian food and a pleasant ambience - not too loud to talk - and you have a great setup

Food was pretty good but the portions and drinks were small for both my husband and I. There was a guy on piano with a nice voice and skills. Probably not worth going back.

A nice cozy place with live blues and jazz, excellent Ethiopian food, and craft cocktails. Ive been here many times and the music is always great. There is both a lounge area and tables for dining. If you like spicy food, ask for some extra hot sauce on the side. If you like smoky drinks, get the Bikila, its delicious.

I wanted something delicious, and I definitely found it. You will be back once you do yourself a favor by stopping in. I find myself seated at the bar sometimes because they are often busy, but its never uncomfortable or too busy to be served. Their staff has always been accommodating and wonderful!

Food has great flavor. We ordered the tenderloin sambussa, vegetarian platter, lamb entrée, beef sliders. No complaints with any of those items. Service was good. Alcohol selection is nice. Reasonably priced. Reservations recommended.

The Doro Tibs was delicious! They also have live music every night after 9 pm. They had nice dim lights, a fireplace, and couches to sit on. Only complaint is that my food was a bit spicy. Easy to access via the 22 bus.
