Went in November of 2020 and it was pretty chilly but very gorgeous. A lot of the other trails were closed so I ended up finding this one and was very pleased. Very peaceful and quiet morning! Found this mole along the trail so I just pushed him over to the side so no one accidentally stepped or biked over him.

Such a quiet, contemplative little nook for a little hike or stroll. It is the last remaining Tamarack Bog in Minneapolis as the rest have been filled in and/or drained. Lots of interesting plants and fungi to see and birds swooping around. Stay on the path!

Such a wide variety of Beautiful plants! Also a lot of opportunities from hiking, to hiking, to skiing. Highly recommend to anyone who loves good ol mother nature!

Great spot. Cool unusual plants. If you have a good camera this would be a great spot for a macro lens. Only downside is the trails are not well-marked. Limited parking for $1 per hour. Credit cards accepted. Highly recommended!

Bogwalkbogwalkbogwalk. Whats not to love about a bog? The trails were very well maintained without feeling overgroomed. There is tons of wildlife, from snakes to deer to bees. If it has rained the bog path might be a little underwater, but so is the rest of the bog so its fitting.

Ohhhh my...I loved this because it was like a scene from an apocalyptic movie lol. No one around. Dozens of intersections and options to take. From well worn to is that even a path. No trail guides or maps so bring your alltrails app or a compass

Great trails that cover a lot of ground. Hiking and ski trails. If youve never been, I definitely would check it out. Not far from downtown.

We didnt find the bog.. its apparently hidden as well as quaking. But it is a gorgeous chain of well maintained trails, leading through beautiful terrain. We saw several animals and lots of interesting plants as well as delicious wild berries.. will be returning

Technically still in the city but as if in a different ecosystem entirely. Peaty and mossy without feeling gross, were fortunate to have it preserved so well in Theodore Wirth Park.

Nice trails. Bog was half under mud. The off road biking is amazing.

Quaking bog is such a great place for a stroll. Keep an eye out for mountain bikes!

Beautiful, lush hills to hike throughout! Theres several different paths that my dog and I were able to explore and while theres other people hiking and biking, we never felt crowded. It was a nice way to get some steps in on a Saturday afternoon in what felt like a rural getaway amongst the hustle and bustle of the urban city.

Quaint and memorable.

This place is a hidden treasure, with a very unique and diverse ecosystem. The pinkish green moss looks like its from another planet. Leave the flip flops at home though. Depending on the time of year, trails get pretty soggy. Much of the boardwalk that runs throughout the bog is getting swallowed up by the vegitation. Its totally worth the trip. Oh, paid parking only here. I believe both cash and credit cards are accepted at the outdoor kiosk

Great short little trail through a unique ecosystem close to Minneapolis.

This little piece of nature has a different eco-system than any other place around. Its a little bit boggy and a little bit swampy and is surrounded by great walking and bike paths. Great time of year to visit and be serenaded by the frogs.

Found some carnivorous pitcher plants. That alone deserves 5 stars. The wildflower garden around the corner was great as well.

Theres a sign that says what the plants are and gives a definition of the quaking big. I didnt see it at first its a little hard to read. The paths go every which way. Fallow the middle path theres a sign that says quaking big wooden path ways its super cool . Be prepared to get your feet muddy

Excellent track for off-road cycling. It took me 15 minutes to ride a difficult route. There is also an easy bike route and a hiking route.

Such a beautiful, lush area to explore! Lots of unique plants. It was nice to see a lot of pollinators, including a hummingbird!It was a little hard to find our way with no detailed map of the trails, but once we got to the bog it was easy to follow the bridges around. Theres a port-a-potty at the small parking lot, but unfortunately it wasnt in usable condition during our visit.

Nice hiking trails, your feet might get wet on the big trail, dog friendly, hand pump water well at entrance which is good for dogs, but metallic tasting for humans

Beautiful nature filled walking paths right in the middle of the city.

We were a classroom group accompanied by a parks naturalist and the walk was great. Lifeguard was on duty at noon. Facilities were clean.

Great trails throughout. Also, two mountain bike paths to challenge even the savviest of bikers. Sunlight filters through the dense foliage, creating a beautiful space. You can use a credit card now for the parking. Theres a porta potty and an old fashioned water pump provides drinking water. Parking is very limited, as lot is small.

Dont step on the momraths

Mothers day made it impossible to find a parking spot closer that 1/4+ miles away. That was fine really, the weather was awesome. I only knocked off a star because the biking trails around this area are great. Meaning they get heavy use from mountain bikers. Many of these trails intertwine from time to time with walking only trails. Not only do you have to watch your back- but if you have children you REALLY have to be on your guard. The bikers come fast and only the courteous ones tell you if they are approaching. Word to the wise; if you get lost or turned around- make SURE you stay on a pedestrian trail as you make your way back.

We love walking here. Our dog loves it even more. Always an adventure on the floating walkways and we were pleasantly surprised that they updated the parking so that you can pay with a credit card and dont need quarters anymore. This is a great, woodsy area for a leisurely visit.

Great park - walk, run, hike, bike - all under thick tree cover and shade in the warm weather. Right next the city but youd barely guess it. Great spot!

Pretty decent tails...tails for biking and separate trails for walking. Trails do a lot of crossing over, somewhat easy to get turned around but not a very big park so getting lost is tough. Not a lot of people, nice scenic spot in the middle of the city. Bog area is kinda small but still cool. Good place to trail run or mountain bike. Small parking pay-lot, usually fills up with people/cars on the weekend.

This is a gorgeous, serene and peaceful place to visit in the spring, summer or fall! The majority of the trees in the bog are Tamarack pines; the only deciduous “evergreen”, and their needles are very soft to the touch. When you stop along the trail and look straight up into the sky, you can just imagine yourself being somewhere in the northern woods of Minnesota, not in the middle of its largest city. A priceless and now rare treasure that we are fortunate to have in our flgreat city! Please stay on the trail and if you see any litter pick it up and take only that out with you. I’ve personally rarely if ever spotted litter there which is a good sign but in case anyone else does, please don’t just leave it there!

A tranquil respite 10 minutes from downtown. You can see/hear woodpeckers, bluejays and cardinals.

What an amazing set of MTB trails in the middle of a metro area. Its 10 minutes from my house and so convenient, definitely recommend.

This place was awesome. The bog has all of these suspended walkways that slosh the bog as you walk through it. And its super beautiful in the summer.

Excellent place to find mushrooms, frogs, and see other wildlife. Please stay on the trail!

Cool urban bog.

This is a serene place away from the sounds of the city. Bird calls, a wild turkey and a pair of Mallards.

The Bog dont quake no more... still a good hiking, running, biking, Nordic Trails place.

This place is the perfect combination of beauty, silence and nerve-racking (if there is no one around). It has 2-3 different trails but all of them gonna meet at a point, so dont worry about choosing the right trail just roam around and feel the nature. Once you reach the center of the Bog you wont feel that you are in the city. Its amazingly quiet.The best time to visit this place is in the morning. I find this place little frightening at evening time.It has paid parking lot. But you can park in Theodore Wirth Parkway and walk from there to quaking bog which is around 3min walk.
