Zanjero Park is a outdoor space that you can walk around and it has a couple of pavilions to picnic at. They have hitching posts for horses and some burrowing Owls. They do have a concrete path that stretches over a mile if you want to get some walking or bike riding in.With that said its just a patch of desert next to the free way. I cannot see visiting this in the summer time since shade is limited. Its decent place for some alone time.Check it out and let me know what you think.
Got a bit hot. Nice not too many people. Mostly parents with children. Habitat for Burring OwlsWe saw two. Fun time.
I enjoyed it, I didnt see any owls. Nothing particularly amazing, but a good place to enjoy a walk.
Came here to see the burrowing owls, got to see two almost right away! They perched in a tree enjoying the shade while we took photos and video. We will almost certainly come back, perhaps during cooler weather.
I guess I went at the wrong time. 11am. Hot. No owls. Try again later when its cooler
This place is a real hoot -- no really. The burrowing owls are really cute if youre into that sort of thing.
There are good things and bad things about this park.Pro: Burrowing Owls!!! It was amazing to see these little birds being protected.Decent amount of plant speciesEasy walk on either a paved walkway or gravel pathCon: Next to loud highwaySeems neglected (not dirty) just not kept upAll in all it isnt my favorite park but one I might come to again for a different environment.
So sweet. Looks just like an old desert park. Go and see for yourself. Wildflowers, owls and baby rabbits ohh my. Excellent for kids and when the water flows another fun time.
Saw 4 roadrunners and 1 burrowing owl! Nice hike!
The burrowing owls were not out when we came. A friend came an hour later and saw two..
Nice little break spot
Too much litter. Canal needs to be cleaned.
Not the most exciting walk with the freeway right there, but there are some habitats for burrowing owls which were so cool! We saw them both times we went! Great place to take dogs to run around.
Went there this morning for the first time in over a year and no owls. Their holes were filled up with cobwebs and pebble . Did something happen? Saw a roadrunner and lots of big lizard . A very calm walk minus the passing cars.
Owls are the coolest, it is hit or miss whether they will be out of their burrows. The only thing that isnt that great is the constant traffic noise coming from the freeway right next to the park. Still it is a very cool experience.
Nice and clean
We were staying in Gilbert, and when I learned about Zanjero Park, I knew we had to visit. Even if I werent slightly obsessed with owls, I would recommend a visit to anyone who wants to see owls up close. Zanjero is located next to one of the Phoenix areas busy highway loops, which is another reason this park is exceptional. It is small with some dirt hiking/biking/horse riding trails, but the real attractions can be found by taking the short hike on the paved walkway along the perimeter of the park. There, you will find that local folks have created a safe place for the burrowing owls to live. When we visited South Dakota, we went to great lengths to snap a few pictures of burrowing owls who had taken up residence in prairie dog burrows. Imagine my delight in seeing numerous burrowing owls literally standing in front of these man-made burrows that line the perimeter of Zanjero Park. The park is located next to a very large field, and evidently, that provides these little guys with all of the food they need. The park includes a large water source that has been put in place in order to fill a trough that horses can use. There are also hitching posts and a nice set of picnic tables for visitors. If you have a penchant (obsession?) for owls, or if you simply want to view nature up close, a visit to Zanjeo Park will also be high on your list!
Nice open area to walk or bike. Its a great place for kids or even adults (out of practice) to get back on a bike and peddle well graded loop of short trails.
The owl burrows are interesting and make this park a little different from others. There is no bathroom, so only 4 stars.
Loved seeing the owl!
This seemingly abandoned park is a desert sanctuary from the busy town. It has built homes for burrow owls that youll get to see if you go. Also has a long walking/biking trail and is a great place for photos.
Overall I enjoyed going here but I was not blown away. The sidewalk is very nice and makes a loop around the outer edge of the park. The owls are burrowed along the sidewalk and are easy to spot. The parking lot was well maintained and had plenty of space. The park was kinda bland though. Not a lot of vegetation to view and the shade is a little lacking. Good for a different place to walk the dogs, but not great for nature viewing.
Lots of shade, picnic bench. 5-12 years old playground, nice place to play Frisbee or ball.
Love to see owls! Yet u have to be quiet. It’s short walking and not much to see.
And surrounding areas are very beautiful compared to what Ive used to live and Im really impressed with these cities Canal Park is just one example of a clean friendly neighborhood
Very quiet and peaceful i only needed to pull off to use my phone it was very nice their
Awesome burrowing owl refuge; not much else. But... Burrowing owls!
Hands down the best place in the area to take your dog for a poop walk
Nice trails.
This place is so awesome! They have a cool dog park and archery. Me and my best friend were so happy when we found this park, the view is amazing.
Wow and so close from my apartment, a quiet and very chill spot for a walk or perhaps some meditation!!!

Great spot for Burrowing Owls
Hidden jewel. Peaceful respite along the 202On Lindsey
Nice place to stop on a bike ride....but needs a restroom of some kind...maybe just a port a potty type thing..
Nice burrowing Owls.
The burrowing owls did not disappoint.
Great small park
To the blind eye this park might not look all that. But if you give it a go you might see some cool thing, there is an abundance of wild life.
Nice park. Highlight is the burrowing owl habitat.
I go here often, to walk and see how my borrowing owls are doing. It borders the 202 just south on Lindsey, just down the street from my home off of Higley. A delight to have in our city.
Nice place for a good walk. The walk path is aporox. 1mile.
You can actually see the owls. It is a side walk in the desert though. Bring water and just relax.
More of a scenic spot. Not great for kids but well worth a stop
Beautiful native flora and cute birds. Fun to share with family.
Love checking out the owls, to bad the park is so small and close to the highway
A wonderful outdoor park that feels like a desert.
Great park for a walk with the dogs, but no public restrooms.
Nice quiet park to walk around and relax
They have adorable burrowing owls
Didnt see any owls, but did see a couple road runners.
Beautiful!
Desert park, picnic tables, walk paths, burro owls,, water features. Very primitive
Nice
Nice little park.
My review of: Zanjero ParkThis park is a burrowing owl refuge. No play equipment for children. The parking lot is graveled. Landscaping is all desert. There is a covered picnic pavilion, water fountain and a horse watering trough that you can fill up for your animal. You will have to lift up your dog in order for them to reach it. There was water flowing in an irrigation ditch on one side of the covered picnic area. There is both dirt and cement trails to walk around on.
#Wildflowers
Great place for a sunset stroll.
My favorite place to visit after my classes
The owls are adorable, worth the visit
Great birding and easy walk
