Beware...But I will start with the good. The rooms are spacious and nice. The listing states there are 7 pools (I believe) not true. There are 2 working pools. 3 are currently being remodeled. There was no communication as to this until you arrive and see notices posted. Th

The hotel is really nice and located right on the beach. Condos are super spacious and comfortable. The staff is kind and informative. The only place to get something to eat closes right at 4pm, but there is enough of restaurants to order take out. Definite negative is the beach set up. You are not able to get seats closer to the water unless you rent chairs and umbrellas from a local company that took monopoly on the beach. And to sit in the first couple of rows you have to reserve those sets months ahead. So if you have small children, be prepared to leave your stuff 5-6 rows chairs and umbrellas since you cannot even bring a small chair to the water, You can only move to the water after 5pm. This was very inconvenient and wish I would have known about it before.

The set up of the unit was great esp that it was beachfront, which we love. However, this unit needs to be updated. The furnitures, lamp shades, painting, wall paper is outdated!!! There are several items that the owner should look into and make this unit competitive to others. Renters shell out a big amount of money - we were kinda disappointed when we got inside. Place mats were stained, kitchen rug was old and a safety risk - they should provide one that is non slip. I had multiple events of mishaps while in the kitchen because of the rug that slides. The owner can be sued if an accident happens there. Wallpaper is peeling off in the shower. The ceiling where the bunk bed is - very dirty, so many stains, our son refused to sleep there. At least provide a disposable sponge/dishwashing soap for dishes that doesn’t need to be washed in the dishwasher. I’ll post some pictures so you can see and that the owners can pay attention to the issues in this unit. I’m sure it will look great again once it is given a tender loving care.

The Pelican Resort is clean and in a wonderful spot on the beach. We loved the easy beach access, balcony overlooking the beach, 24/7 office staff, & access to two pools and a hot tub. We do wish that Hotels.com had a little more info regarding the condo situation. It was clean and spacious, but the kitchen utensils were very basic. If wed been given a little more info we would have brought a few more things along like spices, paper towels, coffee filters, and extra towels. There was no in suite laundry, but coin laundry was available for use on the floor.

We liked being right on the beach - room was clean but not exceptional as far as comfort - mattress on the king bed seemed very soft and old - twin bed was more firm - TV in main room kept going out - this was reported at the main desk when we checked out. Floor outside of our elevator was WET first 2 days of our stay - making that tile area extremely hazardous to walk on. In general we liked this place and would possibly recommend in future. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful time during our stay and we enjoyed the ressot and the amazing view to the ocean, i will definitely come back here.

DO NOT stay at this property in October!! We waited until after kids were back to school to go on vacation and evidently some states have a “Fall Break” and they all go to Destin! Way too crowded! This property makes it impossible to rent an umbrella with chairs because guests rented them many months in advance. Would have been nice to know this! Hotels.com gave us floor 2 right beside everyone coming off the beach. Terrible location fir a room in such a crowded resort..No privacy whatsoever. Stay somewhere else and enjoy your vacation with less chaos. I hear it’s exactly the same in the Summer months.

We stayed at this resort last year and Loved it other then for 1 reason. Hotels.com listed beach umbrellas and chairs provided. But DID NOT specify there was an additional fee. We spent over $100 on beach chairs and umbrellas. Tuhat didnt set well with me. No problem, still a good time. A sign on the beach states that No Tentz Allowed. Personal beach gear must be set up beyond a certain point at the back of the beach. No problem. My family arrived, I verified the policy with the front desk clerk. All SHOULD be good. NO! At the beach we started setting up a 6x6 Beach Canopy and IMMEDIATELY a guy. Omes running up saying NO TENTS ALLOWED! NO problem its not a tent, its a canopy. OH, YOU CANT HAVE THOSE EITHER!! SO instead of enjoying a day at the beach, we stayed about an hour, so my 3 yr old and 1yr old did not have to play in the sand, BAKING in the sun. Later I asked at the front desk and they confirmed no tents OR canopies. When asked why, they said because there is NO ROOM. IT TAKES UP TOO MUCH SPACE. I spent over $1000 at this place and there were abot 50 other people on the beach. I could have put up a circus tent with animals and trapeze and NEVER IMPOSED on ANYONE. They ruined our family vacation.The resort next to us had a similar sign, but it also said NO PERSONAL BEACH EQUIPMENT, but yet there were people with canopies up?????

The location was beautiful. Right on the beach and our room overlooked the ocean but the condo was in disrepair. Moldy showers, broken gates to the pool. All amenities were closed the whole time. There was a note in a book in the condo in 2017 saying replace the mattress and all they did was put a lumpy padding on top. The entry carpets were stained and needed replaced.

The property was clean, but needed updating. The kitchen cabinets were old. The furniture on the deck was ok, but all the chair cushions were stained and dirty. It would be nice if the kitchen was a little more friendly. Like salt and pepper or sugar. These things visitors can’t travel with and it’s a nice touch while we are there. Lastly we were somewhat frustrated that we didn’t have the use of the washing machine.

Check in was great super friendly service the entire week.Lots of great things to do in the area. Many suggestions were given by the front desk . We will stay there again .

This condo came in clutch for us. It was everything we could have needed for our time at the beach.

I love the beach! In the view from the property was great! Our condo was okay but I think we prefer the hotel settings. I like our towels to be changed and amenities that they offer. A cable didnt work in the bedroom and the pool was on the east side of the building. It got Shady fast which was a huge bummer for my family. I feel like this condo was just okay. Walking distance to activities wasnt as great as we had in Pensacola. I wish we would have stayed a little more West closer to the boardwalk.

There was sand on the floor and we didn’t go on the beach it was too cold. The fire stick didn’t work.... we had a drain issue. And the living room furniture needs to be cleaned

We stayed in Condo 1008. 1 bedroom, bunkbeds, and pullout couch, directly facing the golf of Mexico. The place was pretty nice, it was clean, plenty of space, the view was Amazing from the balcony. The kitchen was nice. The security of the property was wonderful, The layout of the pool, cafe, gift shop was a little weird, You have to go outside of the main building. throught the outdoor pool gates, walk around 2 pools to get to the cafe and store, and the pools were super crowded, so It wasnt a place we visited after the 1st day.The beach is beautiful, HOWEVER-The shear number of rental chairs and umbrellas that they cram into their portion of beach is ridiculous! I walked for miles each way during our trip, and Our property was the ONLY one that had more than 1 row of chairs set up, that have to be paid for before use. You can barely see any sand! This was our 1 big complaint during our stay. *Keeping in mind it was during spring break, BUT it was also spring break at every other resort, and nobody had 3 rows of chairs set up everyday!! The only good view of the water was from our 10th floor balcony, or at 6am.I would never stay here again during spring break. The only other issue we had was after giving my credit card # 2 seperate times so that we could make charges to our room, I received a call from the office on day 6, basically accusing me of trying to scam their system by ordering drinks at the tiki bar, after NOT providing a credit card # according to the lady

We really like the view and the size of our rooms. It was very disappointing that we had to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas on the hotels private beach even though we were guests and had already paid quite a lot to stay there. I was also disappointed they have no recycling and still use straws. The beach is their backyard and they should take more care to keep it free from these things.

The property was ocean front and there were 3 to 4 rows of umbrellas and chairs for RENT that obstructed the view and quick access to ocean. We had to Rent umbrellas ( couldnt get front row)

Our stay was great it felt like being at home. The view was awesome, the room was well stocked with cooking utensils, games even a phone charger.

We stopped here for a couple of nights on our way to Disney World. We loved it so much we did not want to leave. It was so clean, comfortable spacious and beautifully decorated. The views were fabulous. We had a great time on the beach, which was so easy to access. We want to plan a return visit again when we can stay longer. Thank you for a wonderful first beach experience! It was fabulous!

The pool was very nice and heated. The indoor proved great due to some chilly overcast weather. The tiki bar and food are top of the line. I have visited many resorts with my family and the bar and grill, chair rental, and parking are the best I have come across. The unfortunate part of the trip was that the floor in our room was so sticky we had to get cleaning supplies ourself. The room was suppose to sleep 7. My family is just that 7 and the absence of bunk beds as described when we booked was a big issue. We again found ourself buying an alternative bed as the room came with a king, 2 doubles, and a couch bed. I have 2 boy 15 year olds, a 1 year old, 12 year old boy, and 8 year old daughter. On vacation I am not a fan of my children cramming into doubles or sharing with a baby sister. Had this been explained we would have made other arrangements and we were very clear in booking on the number of people that would be staying and verifying by phone the available beds. The last thing is not major to some, but I found the front desk you get blonde rather unprofessional. Making comments about the “shady”, “questionable”, and “quality” of guest over the past 2 seasons . Stating these “people” are coming from “Pensacola, Panama City, and other questionable areas”. Now in this line we’re a tattooed man with his children, 2 African Americans, and some heavy southern ascents. The look on the faces were concerning. The sleeping situation and floors will prevent us from returning.

The condo is beautifully decorated, and spotless. The views are stunning, from the beach and the water to the views of Destin, especially at night. The directions sent by Yavuz for check-in were clear and simple. There was a minor problem with noise from remodeling on another floor, but Yavuz addressed it immediately, and it was quickly resolved. Our daughter and 4-year-old grandson spent several days with us, and we all had an awesome time building sand-castles and swimming in the pools. The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler supplied by Yavuz were very-much appreciated. There are some great restaurants close-by, and the kitchen has everything necessary to cook meals at home. The beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend Yavuzs place.

We had a wonderful stay... fabulous views, nice room... we just had no idea how crowded it would be!! Didn’t love that where we sat on the beach you couldn’t see the ocean through the chairs and really didn’t like listening to music blasting from dueling speakers on the beach! Just wanted to hear the ocean !! The best time was after 5pm when the ropes were lifted and tons of people went up. It became a private paradise!! Thank you!

We had a great stay. Owner is very good at communicating with you, so you never have to wonder what to do. Room is in a great location to restaurants and shopping. Close walk down to the beach with a nice room view. We would stay here again!

Overall—great stay! The living room furniture was uncomfortable, but other than that we were very pleased.

Our apartment was updated and extremely clean. Pictures cannot show enough how beautiful the view is. We were literally on the beach from our balcony. Kids had fun playing on the beach with toys provided. Netflix and Amazon Prime was added surprises. Kitchen had all we needed to cook, brand new appliances. They also have umbrella and chairs in the unit, so that you do not pay for rentals (you can only place those behind rental setups). Resort was also great with amenities: many pools, cafe, beach bar, nicely decorated lobby and plenty of elevators.

We had a great time at the Pelican Beach Resort. We planned this Spring break trip somewhat last minute (booked in February for a stay in March) and we were very pleased with our accommodations. We came with our teenage daughter and one of her friends and they had a great time. I was a little concerned after reading many reviews complaining about the beach set up, but found them not to be a problem. I guess if I had small children it would be tough, but since we were there with 2 older teenagers we didnt need to keep constant eye contact with them so setting up behind the 3 rows of designated set ups wasnt a problem for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The condo itself was clean and had most of what we needed. We are planning to return in the near future!!

The condo was wonderful and for a reasonable price. Will be going back. I just wish in was a restaurant inside the hotel that stays open late at night. I was able to walk and get something to eat. But overall I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was very outdated, cabinets and other things are falling apart. Bunkbeds are not secure and not safe for children to sleep in. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Patio furniture broken and slide door was broken. Hot tub was out of service for few days. Sauna wasnt working. Missing lids for pots etc. The only thing nice about this place is location cuz its on the beach; they charge extra $50+ for service fee but nothing is done. Would never come back

The distance to the parking was the most inconvenient. The side elevator got stuck between floors and the dishes were not clean.

This was a very clean and cozy Condo with a great view. Although we had two days of rain we were able to check out Destin for the first time. We would return in the near future. Thank you for the use of this Condo.

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was spotlessly clean and facing the beach. It conveniently located near the board walk. I would definitely recommend this place.

We thought that beach umbrellas and chairs were included only to find out that we had to rent them. No beach towels available either. The kitchen was very well supplied with any utensil, appliance, etc. that anyone would need.Conveniently located.Front desk people were always unhappy and rude.

Only plus is view but all resorts had this view. Extra charges if u leave room temp above 75, no washer/dryer in rooms, old decor, chipping paint, had to ask where the pool was, staff had to ask, some acted like it was a bother. Staying at beach is ONLY plus. Will not return here!

We loved this place. Definitely would stay again. Room was spacious and very clean. 1st time in a condo....wont go back to a regular hotel room for a long beach vacation.

My only dislike was deep holes were left open on the beach after kids were finished playing.

First, the staff was very nice and accommodating.The furniture is oold and outdated. Couches were not comfortable seating and while we didnt use the fold out couch, i cant imagine it would be very comfortable given the condition. There was mold in the vents in the living room.The worst part was my kids finding bed bugs crawling on them the third night of our stays. My daughter had bites on her torso. According to the exterminator sent later in the day (while the management company was trying to find us a place to stay), the front bedroom headboard and side tables were infested with bed bugs.For the amount of money we paid for this room, I expected better quality and definitely not having to deal with possibly bringing bed bugs in to my own home. We will not be using this web site to book our next trip since it was priced considerably higher than other sites. We will also not be staying at this place again.

We have never been to Destin FL we booked through Orbits and were very happy to find the hotel was as it was advertised. Its just a happy place!!!

My family of 6 spent 4 nights and, other than the long walk from our room on the very, very end of the 17th floor to get to the beach, we had a perfect trip!

I have stayed at Pelican Beach Resort in Destin five years straight. The condos are great and the service is excellent! We plan on going back again this year!!

We had a wonderful time! Will definitely book again.

The lifeguards at the beach were very friendly and helpful. However, The man who checked us in was less than friendly as well as the workers at the tiki hut. Pool area was very small and no shaded areas for small kids/elderly. Condo was advertised as “sleeps 8”, however Pelican Beach resort only allows 6, therefore we couldn’t get an armband for one in our group. Each entity blamed it on the other, and no one responsed to emails. Good luck getting them to answer the phone as well at panhandle rentals. Soap dispensers were empty, window was broken and propped up with broken bat, and repairs/updates just needed in general to condo.

Very large resort with multiple pools. There was only one small hot tub though which was difficult to use as it only held about 6 people and was constantly full. Other than that, kids had a lot of fun.

Condo # 1011 was very outdated and dirty... Cleaning crew did a very poor job Extremely dusty Floor covered in sand Stove top and fridge handles broken.. this unit could use paint and the master bed was very uncomfortable.. we have been coming to the Destin for over 20 years.

The resort is okay. Definitely needs to be updated. Our room had a mildew smell to it, and the staff wasn’t very professional. Called a few times with questions, or stating the people above us were way too loud stomping at 11pm, which we were advised to call the people above us directly to tell them to quiet down. Beach was nice, but other than that, not worth the money.
