The trail goes to a good lookout over the valley. If you want to get to the top you must climb ropes

Short but fun hike. The trail is not very clearly marked so you have to be careful. Theres a point where you have to climb some rocks to get to the top.

Short and fun hike.. drive up is a pain . Had to leave my dog where the final climb up is with the rope but he waited there patiently for me. Top rocks may be a little sketchy for mild hikers

A beautiful drive. We went to the florite outcropping and collected some nice pieces. You probably wont find anything gem quality, but still worth it for the amiture rock hound. The kids with me had a blast. The trail head for hiking looked beautiful. I would like to go back and hike the trail.

Great short hiking trail! There is a rope climb at the end for a better view of the mountains and the surrounding area. Make sure to bring water and good shoes though.

I love it up here! For the trail runners and those looking for a more sporting option, park at the dirt lot on top of North Cheyenne Cañon. Follow the closed section of road until you go through the last tunnel. Soon after, on your right is a steep scree slope. Ascend the slope and you will connect to a trail that feeds you directly into the St. Peters Dome trail. Round trip 14 miles. The blue fixed rope looks to be in good condition, I used it today without issue.

We pulled over here to rockhound and found the trail and views very nice. The parking are a is right off of the main road, which can be very busy and distracting. Beautiful views of the trail of Colorado Springs.

The views are amazing. A little difficult to get back into the trail, and parking is limited. Once you arive trail is only .7 miles but very difficult. Not good for young children, handicap, etc. You have to climb several ropes up a 10 foot wall to reach the top. Pants recommended.

This is a moderate hike with great views! To actually get to the top you do have to climb a short cliff face that has a rope hanging down to assist you.
