Took my boys here for a weekend adventure. What a COS secret gem! As former USMC aircrew & civil propeller repairman I ate it up. My boys are currently studying about WW1 & 2 and there was tons of info in that realm. The restoration hanger was beyond cool. My personal favorite was the sea planes! Staff were very knowledgeable & I highly recommend striking up a conversation with some of the vet volunteers. What a great place.

One of the better aviation museums I have ever been to. What makes this place unique is that all of their planes are operational. Nicely displayed and very well maintained. All staff are volunteers and are not only pleasant but very passionate and informed. Due to covid they did have arrows to follow, but it took you through the war chronologically. Amazing artifacts on display as well. Highlights for us were the P38 and a plane that was actually in the Doolittle raid. Really great museum!

One of the most impressive military museums we have ever visited across the globe. Every docent was incredibly friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. An experience not to be missed. Oh yeah, every plane in the museum still flys, and you get to see their current restoration plane in progress. Please support their efforts and this museum, visit today!

One of the best museums Ive seen to date. Set up very well, the tour path starts with a synopsis of the First world war then a great timeline of the Second world war. The planes are spectacular! All are kept in flying order by the WestPac company, which has its shop right across from the museum! A tour of the shop is included with the ticket. The volunteers must be included in my review as they are passionate about the museum and very knowledgeable when questioned about most anything in the place. I would like to recommend Ted and Rod, thanks for all the info! This is a MUST on any visit to Colorado Springs.

How can I really put this place into words? I absolutely loved this Museum one of my favorite yet. Youd have to spend at least two days just to see everything they have to offer. Very underrated compared to other museums. So many historic planes and items from the brave men and women who gave there all to fight for there country. Once you get a chance to see everything stop by the gift shop where you can bring home original artifacts from the planes and meany other great pieces of history that will look wonderful in your room or office. They dont have near as much funding as I believe they should have so if you can drop a few dollars in the donation container it will help them preserve even more history of those who gave there all for us! Thank you

I’ve been to a lot of warbird museums and this is hands-down THE BEST one I’ve ever been to. So many rare STILL flying birds everywhere you look. Docent Johnny was amazing. I was so excited to discover that many of the flights I watched at our Pikes Peak Air Show this Fall were these very planes!! It’s so incredibly special to have these National treasures so well-loved (they have a restorations facility on-site) and on display. I can’t wait to go back again and again!

The National Museum of WWII Aviation is one of those hidden gems that should be high on the list of everyone visiting Colorado Springs. For those of you that live here in the Springs, you should bring all of your out of town visitors. If you homeschool, this is a great field trip.Great WWII airplanes with tons of supporting displays. Be sure to do the 2-hour guided tour with one of the volunteer docents. If you pay online ahead of time, youll save a couple bucks. Most of the planes (like the P-38, B-25, and more) are fully restored and are still flown.

So much more than a museum and I cannot recommend it enough! You get to see the planes being worked on and restored before your eyes instead of behind the scenes. Then see the completed planes perfectly restored to the exact standards as when they were originally built is incredible.
