I enjoy this park I sit and carve while Im there even draw and you can meet lots of people the park is geared towards children to either play on playground equipment to chess or shuffle board and then the is wilbert a sprinkler that shoots water and plays music and kids run around as it shoots water in the air. Then when winter comes they erect an out door ice right then the place is lit up like Christmas if you arent in the feeling of it you will get the feeling of it if you go and enjoy the atmosphere its a beautiful site to see.
Its a good place to hang out for time being, except that you gotta hide your belongings. Whenever as possible, because their is people likes to steal.
Tonight we were here at the park to enjoy skate at the park. It was a great time to enjoy the outdoors and time with family. All was very pleasant.
I have always enjoyed Acacia Park. I have fond memories of when my three were younger. I still accompany the park with my 3rd and youngest and when they have an activity. I love the live music. All the activities that provide on a warm and sunny day or cool starry night. Its always nice and relaxing. Lots of stuff to do around the park, places to eat and shops to explorer.
We had a blast in the ice skating rink! Everyone had a great time. Grandma came and watched from the bench. We would highly recommend it.
I walk through here a lot. Center of downtown.Lots of homeless people but its not a thing (hey, make a new friend or hear a cool story! ).Nice coffee shop right on the side called Story.Just wish they would open and maintain the shuffleboard court.
It says neighborhood park but its actually a haven for homelessness. I dont know how to fix the homeless problem but this doesnt change the fact that its real, and its prevalent at this park. Most of them are wrecked from drug use and have little to no capability to think comprehensively so interactions with them arent normally pleasant. Youre either getting asked for money or watching them scream and whisper to people that arent actually there. Stabby Steve likes to practice stabbing with a long, sharpened screwdriver though so thats cute.
All in all a pleasant place to visit, though often quite busy. A spacious area where you could easily meet up with others or spend time unbothered by strangers. Its usually quite crowded by the fountain, which Ive seen on rare occasions stretch to show a sculpture and play music. The area around it is generally strewn with children playing in the water. Around the fountain is several benches and a playground. At times youll find an event taking place at the stage, but it is not too often rented out. Parking around Acacia is payed until a certain time. Theres also public restrooms and a cafe available. Throughout the year youll find different art pieces displayed around Acacia and the general downtown area. While there is a fairly sized presence of homeless folk, they tend to keep to themselves and gather by the corner of the park marked by the fountain.
Very college hip shops, boutiques and restaurants. Scenic city surrounding park that has an outdoor ice rink.
Pretty clean, very nice grass, and parking all the way around. I didnt see any bathrooms which was the only disappointment for us.
Greatest place to be a bum in the Nates House. Love alll
Could be a cool downtown oasis, but between the panhandling and people bothering you with taking surveys, its hard to enjoy this park. I avoid it. I wish Colorado Springs would find a way to get a handle on its homeless population. Its very large for a city of that size.
Got to love this park...Center of town love the skating in the park this time of year
Its a nice placeto hang out with friends and a great placeto relax!
Overall a nice park. Tends to be a lot of drama but it has its perks
The Great Acacia Park is Awesome! Everyone comes here.
I love this park, if it werent for the rampant homeless. We went to the splash pad this time around and a homeless man, huge guy, disheveled as all hell starts yellin nonsense. My kids (3 under 3) all look at him than me for an explanation... its not the first time its happened. Wish someone would help these people get what they need... :(
Nice place to chill. Mini Water park for the kids was cool.
We have a great rally. The people enjoyed the multiple speakers.
Very nice park. I havent had any issues but there is almost always a crowd of homeless nearby. As Colorado Springs 1st park I wish they would update the play ground.
Love the water. My kids always have so much fun. Lots of shade and a playground!!
Park has a basic playground with slides, but there are so many homeless smoking around, its impossible to enjoy time with kids due to smell. Also dirty - cigarette buds all over, wrappers, plastic, etc. I would not come here again. For a centrally located park, shame on the city not maintaining the park
Large park with water feature for kids. Right across the street from food and lots of small shops. Also pokemon go is abundant down tejon street so have a full battery if youre going to play!
Well its its a nice place a nice little respite nice little respite from the downtown shopping
Its so gorgeous and clean.
Its a nice park. Lots of people camp there overnight.
I walk by here at least a few times a month... Its a great park.. And when something is going on there its usually at least interesting... The homeless make it uncomfortable sometimes though. Even when I was one of them.
This is where I met I dont want to say her name her first video her idea i have more
It can be a good park, but youll usually encounter a number of homeless people sleeping, or hanging out.
Colorado springs has really put some time and effort in cleaning up this park, however if you are there to late at night you may need to be more on your gaurd for shady people. That said today it was a nice place to visit. They have a water park and a hub where you can go and play big chess, checkers, or skiball. Looks really nice.
So much fun. Great family or date night. Help aids for kids (plastic push seals), which also helps parents. Tent next to ring to take breaks, heaters to warm up, hot cocoa/coffee to purchase off to the side. Only 4 stars one heater was not working, ring should be bigger to accommodate more skaters, ring needs the zamboni to smooth out ice more often.
I love having this cute little park in the midst of busy, concrete-filled downtown. Its a respite from the rest of the city.. And although its a bit small, it serves its purpose well. My niece had her birthday here, at the skating rink, and everyone had fun. As long as the city is busy & crazy, I hope we always have this park.
Nice park in heart of downtown Colorado Springs. I had the best time with my granddaughter at the ice rink and she really enjoys the park. In the summer Uncle Wilbers Fountain is a good time.
We went ice skating which was decently priced. 2hrs was more than enough to wipe all the kids out. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful. We will go again.
Its over ran by homeless at night
Nice green lawn and trees
Great back great walk downtown ....the downside to it ....some of the people there just dont make it feel safe or welcoming. I mean to see a woman in the park with 2 very small very young kids running around while shes doing drugs and shes not paying any mind to them .... Yeah not a good place. I took my son to play on the jungle gym but even that has seen its better days.
What a wonderful place to grab something to eat and just sit and relax and people watch. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery downtown, people are friendly, plenty of places to sit and relax also plenty of places to park sometimes you may have to walk a little ways but its well worth it!
The City needs to clean the place up. Its infested with a very undesirable element. Its been years since I visited, its gotten exponentially worse. Otherwise, its a beautiful place. But even Downtown Denver/16th Street Mall is cleaner..
Its great all summer and during the winter you have the skate rink they have it all set up for Christmas and every holiday. The park is well taken care of and surrounded by all these shops and even restaurants its perfect for the family. Theyre building a new ice skate rink yesterday.
Nice little downtown park perfect for a picnic in summer, or ice-skating in winter. Anytime is good for a coffée at the Story tiny house.
Always full of drug addicts and homeless people. Please be wary
It use to be an amazing place to hang out, read, enjoy people watching. It’s changed so much over the years that now it really sucks. Drug use publicly, homeless everywhere, and no good shops around it anymore. Disappointing for sure.
Always a cool spot on a hot summer day.
Wonderful park. Lots of trees so the park is shady and cool. I took the kids to play in the fountain and they had a blast. Whoever designed the fountain area was thinking of parents. There is seating all around it and the operator was quick to inform parents of the lightning warning that had gone into effect.
Funny how your timeline tells all for nine years aint it william
The place is calm. Love it.
I love this park! It is a great place to being your kids to play on the jungle gym, splash in the beautiful water fountain or just relax in the beautiful, well kept grass. My only complaint is that the homeless take up the benches and the tables. Im not upset that they are there, only that they camp out on the tables and benches and do not share. Still a great place to go and relax.
Good place to take your children as long as the homeless stay away from your children.
Cleaning up a bit better
Good place to bring the family on a nice day or just to get away and read a book.
Becomes a winter wonderland during the holiday season. It’s like going back in time to the 1950s.
Some days its really nice some days its full of homeless people but a nice walk either way
It was really nice even at night. Skating looked fun and the people inside of the hub was really kind and welcoming.
Love the farmers market and the fountain in the summer, ice rink in the winter.Lyft Code: paola81120Uber Code: paolap860ue
Ice skating rink outside is fun but small. The lights in the winter are pretty.
Great little park in the middle of downtown. Playground for the children and during the summer time the fountain acts as a watery attraction as well.
It would be a beautiful park, but it has too much trash and people dont pick up their pet waste. I couldnt even walk my puppy without her trying to eat the trash on the ground.
The Food and Makers Market they host here is always fun to bring friends to. You can check out your local honey and candle makers. I try to come back as often as I can.
This park has lots of green space for picnics or just hanging out. They have a welcome center that also has outdoor games you can borrow to play (chess, bean bag toss, etc). The playground is small but the kids have a good time. The splash pad/water fountain is really cool. The middle fountain pops up and plays music and spins. Very neat and the kids seem to enjoy themselves.
To many homeless and vagerent people hanging around.
First time there, love it
Lovely park for the family, heavily guarded by police
Had a great time ice skating, neighborhood a little sketch, staff at the icerink seemed disinterested, but overall a good time.
Love this park. The holiday setup is so beautiful. I love that the ice skating rink is here and the uncle Wilber fountain during the warmer months. I know the homeless population sometimes affect the comfort of the park but, I think its just a part of our downtown community now a days. Wishing more places for the community to support the homeless.
Ice skating in the winter is a blast! The fam had a great time. Wed do it again for sure.
Acacia Park is the heart of the downtown Colorado Springs area. During the summer the fountain is a favorite for kids to play in and during the winter the ice rink is popular.
Too many homeless hang around here in my opinion.
Its a whole block, is the park. Lots of grass. A water fountain the kids can play in during the summer/day, and also a playground. A bandshell for when they do have events/live music. No smoking allowed in park (cops do walk around downtown sort of patrolling sometimes). Good family place. Although the homeless are plentiful downtown. Theyre rarely mean/aggressive tho
No longer is acacia park only a please too buy ditch weed from a sketchy dude. Now the city tries to attempts to make this our Central Park. Theres shuffle board, ice skating, Uncle Willies musical hepititis A fountain, and a small playground where i found a huge frickin knife abandoned. There is a very good coffee stand and an ampitheater.
Nice park in downtown Colorado springs they also have a ice skating rink around Christmas is very nice
Great for Pokemon Go, shopping and eating out. There can be quite a bit of unusual characters around.
A friend and I sat down on the grass underneath the trees. It is a lovely park, however there were some homeless people there. They didnt bother us, but it could be a concern in some instances.
One of best hangout places
Lilli had a blast here. No bullies. The fountain was adorable. The people were polite. Fun!
Awesome Park to go play Pokemon go
This place is awesome if you do pokemon go during community days and its beautiful here
Nice clean, enjoyable place. The ice rink looks like fun too.
