Palmer Park has to be one of my top three favorite places in the state. The hike to the plateau summit is WORTH IT! Once you are up there you can see the entirety of the gorgeous city of Colorado Springs including Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain, Downtown, Air Force Academy and so on...You can also mountain bike the trails at the top and climb the red rock and sandstone cliff faces (at your own discretion of course!! PLEASE be sage)At the base they have a lovely and sprawling park and lawn as well as a huge and inviting dog park. Lovely time every time.

A trip that will not be forgotten! Especially when you get to the Grand View. Looking at everything!!! From Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Beautiful Homes and more!!! Bring your phone at full battery and give yourself 3 hours to explore. Take your time and enjoy the nature! Hope this motivates someone to come visit. Have a great day, God Bless

Beautiful park. We took the family here the explore. They had so much fun playing baseball then park area with toys. Tons of toys plenty for everyone. Plenty of space. Next time we go we will explore more of the park. Its was so big we need more time and we will come back for sure.

Great trail for the family and the dogs! This trail has a little bit of everything; somewhat flat and wide easy trail loop, finger trails, rock climbing and more difficult trails. There is something here for everybody. The views are of the city, and of course the mountains. We came across a few benches and tables to stop and relax on, but dont count on their use if the trail is crowded. Some areas allow dogs to run without a lease, while other parts of the trails demand the lease. Lot of mountain bikers are on this trail too. You will need proper hiking boots if you get off the main wide trail. This is not a place to wear basic sneakers.

This park is probably one of the best in the area especially if you want to take your dog out for a nice hike. Its within driving distance from most parts of the city. Ive been a handful of times so far and have yet to cover even a fraction of the trails that are in this park. It definitely feels like theres something for everyone. The folks and dogs that weve met on the trails are super friendly. Overall this park is super clean and well kept. Weekends arent too crowded and there seem to be just enough people that you arent out hiking by yourself.

Good park with playgrounds for different ages. My favorite feature is almost a dozen trees with perfect low and smooth branches. So, given a huge amount of monkey bars, its a perfect place for those whose kids like to climb and who like to rest in the shade with nice pine trees smell!

Although I was prepared for some Cliff Hiking earlier this year, this one was superb. Sixty Degrees in Mid November! Really nice area to go hiking in the morning or afternoon and it’s just right down the street from your backyard. Does have a fairly large children’s park at the bottom including a dog park before you make your drive up the mountain. I would recommend following the maps they have posted around the trail because they can get a little confusing when hiking or walking.

This place has beautiful views, and trails for hikers, and bikers. There are various parking lots you can choose to park at throughout the drive to the top. There is a playground at the bottom and possibly located elsewhere in the park. Great place for the whole family, quick scenic views, or hours of trail time. If none of that suits you, you can just sit on a bench and rest enjoying the views. Great place to visit for someone only here visiting as well. Any picture taken here is a great picture.

Palmer Park, like North Cheyenne Canon park, allows me to quicky get away from the occasional hustle and bustle of the city that lies at both mountain parks base. This park has a definite vibe in it, especially the closer you get to sunrise or sunset. The do have an operable porta john at park entrance and bathroom building off Paseo. They allow dogs off-leash on most trails inside the park. At the Maizeland Road entrance there are two fenced dog walks or play grounds.

This is one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs! Such an amazing time every time I go! The nature is beautiful and the trails do not interfere with the beauty and awe of the wild life. There is a nice spot for the dogs as well as a field if you are just looking to relax or play some games. Amazing spot to mountain bike with terrain ranging from beginner up to I would estimate about expert but not professional. If you are the most hard core mountain biker you would enjoy it but may find yourself wanting that extra thrill, however for the average person you would be able to find paths that give you exactly what you want. The park does not seem very big until you begin to hike it in full. Also make sure you get to the overlook for an AMAZING view of Pikes Peak in the distance and the entire city! Absolutely breath taking and you can drive and park at the overlook if you do not feel like hiking to it! There are some really awesome little caves to find all around but just respect wild life and the park bounds since there are some homes that you may not realize you are trespassing on. Over all if you are in the Springs check this place out!

Great park nestled in the middle of Colorado Springs. Large variety of trails with amazing views and decent elevation change. Park gets a little crowded in the after- work hours and of course on the weekends. It can be easy to get lost or turned around in the park so be aware of the route youre taking and which number parking area you left your car. If you plan on mountain biking here(highly recommend, lots of technical, fun trails) download a trail app such as trailforks.

This is a Great Lake for COLORADO, that being said it’s not exactly user friendly, there’s geese on the beach and it is not tended to so makes it difficult to feel clean there. Haven’t used many other services but I like to swim and this is one place I travel light to in order to avoid the geese poo. Traffic sucks mostly when you’re traveling there but once inside they have maps posted and plenty of helpful employees. They lost a star for cleanliness

One of the best large, open space parks in the Springs. Many hiking trails, horseback riding, a dog park and my favorite, just watching the sunset over the mountains from one of the many lookout parking lots.Ive spent many an hour in this park just reading alone, talking to a friend or friends or just clearing my mind from that days idiosyncrasies.
