This is a cool, fun getaway very near downtown Chattanooga. Nice (gravel) walking trails to see all the sculptures, plenty of parking and restrooms too. There isnt any shade at all so plan accordingly - but quiet and enjoyable from start to finish!

This is one of my favorite outdoor spaces in the downtown Chattanooga area. Lots of sculptures. Fun to walk the trails and observe the art alone or in a group. Great place to contemplate or have a picnic. Free parking! Its a gem for sure.

This is my favorite Park in Chattanooga, especially to walk my dog. Very often I will go and have the entire part to myself. Whats funny is I lived right down the street for two years and never went to this park. Its like a hidden gem, theres hardly anybody ever here and its a huge field with incredible art and statues everywhere. I love it more every time I go. Im from Atlanta and I dont know of any parks like this in Atlanta and Atlanta is a huge city so that says something.

Saw a sign for this place and decided to stop, totally worth it. It was such a cool place to wander around, beautiful on a cloudy day (and Id imagine a sunny one as well). Each sculpture was unique in its own way, and I had a lot of fun taking different pictures. Some of them would make great Pink Floyd album covers.

Great open air venue, filled with sculptures, adequately maintained but absolutely, positively, not a nighttime attraction. Mind where you park and leave absolutely nothing in plain sight inside your car you wish to have a window broken over.

An oasis of peace in the middle of an industrial district. This park is well- maintained with gravel paths and some art deco benches. Beautiful wetlands dot the park complete with bulrushes and a variety of birds. A great place to have a meditative walk on a sunny day. The sculptures are also interesting.

Great place to visit if you wanna get away from the city without going up a mountain. They keep the landscape well maintained and the sculptures are uniquely beautiful. I wish they had poop bag stations and water pump stations since people are allowed to bring their dogs. Overall I love visiting and taking my dog on a walk around the trail.

In 1911 Mrs. Mary Thayer Montague, widow of T.G. Montague, donated 49 acres of pristine land to be used as a park to the City of Chattanooga.During the 1940s the park was misused as a construction landfill, and in later years it was used for various recreational activities including kite competitions, motocross racing and softball tournaments. The park was shut down in 2003 due to environmental concerns. It had become a brownsfield. The idea of a sculpture park was envisioned in 2006 and a grassroots effort led by internationally renowned sculptor John Henry kicked off. In 2012 Sculpture Fields received its 501c3 non-profit determination and a 40-year lease was signed with City of Chattanooga to develop Sculpture Fields on 33 acres of Montague Park.

This place is definitely interesting. The sculptures are good to look at on a brisk walk, but there are signs about fire anta that warn you to stay on the trail that made me feel restricted. I would have enjoyed exploring more without the signs. They do events occasionally that are well attended. Its in a slightly rougher part of town but unless I was there at night or alone I wouldnt feel at risk.

This is a great park for walking around and the large-scale sculptures are really amazing. I use this park to take a walk at lunch and have my favorites. There are no real facilities, though, just a port-a-potty. It can also be pretty muddy after it rains and even dry, good walking shoes are best on the coarse gravel.

This was a garbage dump which was converted to a recreational park. Many ball fields were created, but then the locations eerie past reared its ugly head and potentially toxic components began to surface. The ball fields were removed for public safety reasons and the area was converted to a sculpture field. That part is a positive influence for an area that has had a checkered past! Artisans can help us heal and move on. Hint! Hint! School boards! Dont cut out the arts from schools. Some kids can do art, but not academics, or vocational curriculums. Remember them when budget cuts occur, because without arts this sculpture park wouldnt exist and the ugly would pierce through....

Da
Review №95

Its s decent place to go for a walk, albeit alone or with someone. Bear in mind its an open venue so dress accordingly and to the weather. Much like literature and music, the art displayed is more than moderately subjective to taste, sporting only contemporary pieces. While some are definitely very creative and interesting, others are questionable, at best.
