What a wonderful view! My girlfriend and I stood near the beach, embraced, looking across the bay... The lighthouse was cute from outside. We didnt enter due to the fact that we refuse to mask up. The cabin on the property is was a great reflection into the past... VERY ENJOYABLE!

It was a beautiful lighthouse and beach. Id love to visit when the weather warms up and covid doesnt have the lighthouse closed. A bonus was the fantastic Scenic Drive.

Very pretty lighthouse! It wasnt open when I was there, but it was still a great walk and view. Its a short 5 minute walk from where you park. You can go down the front steps from the lighthouse and walk onto the beach to enjoy the water! I stuck my toes in with the lighthouse right behind me. :) A lot of informational signs along the way, too.

Its a beautiful light house which is currently decommissioned. The really cool thing about this spot is that youre halfway between the north pole and equator at 45° latitude. You can also see the new lighthouse buoy floating in the lake. Also, the people in the store are such wonderful folks. Definitely say hi to them

Everything but the lighthouse was awesome. The View was incredible. The lighthouse look more like a little house with a light on top. I wonder how many ships crashed in that Harbor sunk to the bottom with the captain going where the hell was that Lighthouse at.

This is a wonderful spot on the 45th parallel they’ve got walking trails and we went from 1 to 24 and put in 4.9 miles as you venture through this place think with the 45th parallel means to you it’s halfway between the equator and the north pole so enjoy your adventure and I’ll post some pictures so you can see what this place is about.

Such a cute little spot to visit! Easy to find and lots of parking. Our visit was on a Monday afternoon and it was fairly busy here. I would probably avoid it on the weekends especially during Covid. Only the gift shop and the lower level of the lighthouse were open to the public. Masks are required while inside. There were still lots of fun things to see and videos to learn from! There is also some minor construction happening right now which some might prefer to avoid. There are multiple points to access the beach (none are handicap accessible unfortunately) but the beach is pretty narrow right now due to high water levels. They have a bench to sit and spray your feet off once you are done.

Absolutely lovely location! Right on the water and some great trails to hike in the surrounding area! The lighthouse was under construction upon our arrival, but it was still a very pleasant time. Plenty of parking made mobility for our elderly relatives traveling with us very easy as well. When we head to TC again, well be sure to stop at the Mission Point Lighthouse once again!

Very good experience. The beach is small, but there was hardly anyone there. We went on a Sunday night in June. The swing set was a short walk down the beach from the actual lighthouse, it was a fun surprise. The fence around the lighthouse takes away from it’s charm, and the lighthouse itself is small and underwhelming; but the views of the sunset are great.

A nostalgic place for me, but it has quite changed. Due to coronavirus the inside of the lighthouse was closed, something I normally did not partake in, but something to keep in mind for your visit. What I usually went for was to walk out into the water as there was once a large strip of peninsula you could hike to get great views. This has now been fully submerged. Theres not much beach left either but theres still enough to hang out and go swimming. Still a beautiful place but a healthy reminder that nature does not stand still, cherish what you see, the best we take care of her the better we can preserve her.

Beautiful lighthouse with nice views of Traverse Bay. Lighthouse has small museum exhibits inside for free along with a more detailed tour and greater views upstairs, pending COVID restrictions being lifted. The attendants at the lighthouse are nice and willing to answer any questions you may have. Check out the gift shop for some souvenirs.

This is definitely a perfect place to enjoy a scenic walk along the bay! We never went in the lighthouse, but we did enjoy exploring the grounds and taking in the sights. A high point was coming across a swing set to use while taking in the breathtaking views. I also loved soaking my feet in the cool water as we walked. I would suggest going early in the morning when there arent as many people and you could watch the sunrise.

This is a lovely place to look around and relax. The lighthouse is charming and the available beach space is limited. If youre visiting Old Mission peninsula, then visiting the Old Mission Lighthouse is a must do. The drive out to the lighthouse is beautiful year-round taking you past vineyards, fruit farms, and road-side stands selling local fruit and produce. Its a beautiful little trip. Once youre at the lighthouse, you can take a tour, or walk down to Lake Michigan just a dozen or so yards away or you can take a hike on one of the little trails. The views of Lake Michigan from the beach are beautiful. I definitely recommend making your way out to the end of Old Mission!

This is a really beautiful slice of Pure Michigan and a neat old lighthouse. It’s facing a sandy beach and clear blue water, there’s a bike rack, and a foot wash station. It’s dog friendly on the beach with lots of pooches running around. The parking lot is less than 100 yards from the water. It’s $4 to climb the lighthouse tower for adults and $2 for kids. First floor of the lighthouse is free. There are also restrooms on site.
