Its a beautiful, clean, big park. Tennis courts, basketball courts, walking path, benches, grassy fields. Small dog section and big dog section in the dog park area. Lots of big dogs playing well together. Cant wait for my little baby chow chow to be in the big dogs section.

Disc Golf Course: To start I gave it a 3 because i didnt lose a disc. The course was maintained poorly but paths to the baskets were mowed. If youre looking for a course that no people are at and you can make your own rules then this is the course for you. The baskets were trash also but still did the job. What basket you throw at makes no sense but it was still a good time.

There is a 9 hole custom built disc golf course here. Some oddly designed skill shot style baskets. I loved it. Will be back again. There are doubled up T pads to play an extra 9 holes a second time through.

This is a great park to take your kids they have an awesome dog area as well as hiking and place it highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for a place to go and mentor take your kids and TRAVERSE CITY

Love this park! You can walk/run the paved path or you can go traipsing in the woods along the water.

Well put together and maintained park with the exception of the disc golf course. The course is overgrown.

Big park with lots of playground equipment for kids, picnic areas, hiking trails, soccer fields and 2 dog parks. Big dog parks with lots of trees and places to sit, plus water bowls and a hose.

This place is great. Some trails to explore, courts to play on, a playground and even a dog park, which is why I go. Every time Ive been, the people have been friendly and courteous with their dogs. Would recommend.

It was nice for our family reunion. Bathrooms were clean.

Went for the dog park. Its absolutely disgusting. You can smell it before you even get into it. Not sanitary for your pet. Dont go. Everything else is beautifully well maintained. Which begs the question... Why?

There is actually a Tiny path that you can take all the way to Silver Lake which is mostly private cottages.. but this Recreation Area owns the public patch of land right on Silver Lake which is open to the public .....I went fishing here and caught a little Bass ..waded out there up to my chest on the 3rd of July ...the water was very warm and relaxing ...beautiful summer day ...God Bless America ... & America bless God !

Great place for off leash dog run. Enclosed space. Some dogs are well behaved, others not so much, but in the end we all love our pooches. Just remember to pick up your dogs poop. Sunny loves to run here and get his ya yas out.

Best dog park in town! Well maintained grounds everywhere for just enjoying a walk with pets or family alike and the dog park itself is fenced with multiple secure entrances and the ability to separate small and large dogs (or just the playful and timid dogs!)

Spacious, enclosed dog park that gets a lot of activity, allowing our two retrievers to socialize and burn off a lot of energy. we drive 20 minutes one-way to visit a couple times a month.

You feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere instead of so close to the city.

The playground is away from the road. Kids can run, while adults can still keep an eye on them. There are two structures, one geared for littler kids, one for bigger kids.

We bring our dogs here to run around and play at the dog park. Theres an area for small dogs and one for large dogs. Its big, its clean, several stations set up with baggies and trash containers for easy doggy clean-up. My dogs love coming here to see all their friends, and meet new ones every day!

My family and I hope here alot. The dog park is so clean. My son loves the playground and the hiking trails.

We love going to the dog park here. So far every time has been a good experience. Our last hike around the lake though was slightly icy though from the thaw, so be careful depending on the weather. Other visitors need to be more respectful though and clean up after there pets. Overall, we love coming here and enjoy the area.

Dog poop everywhere! I visited this park for the first time on Mar 24th. Nice little park and a great place to get out for few quick laps on the paved trail or to enjoy a little walk in the woods. But I was thoroughly disgusted by the dog feces and the discarded poop bags blowing from the branches of the trees! The park provides waste bags and plenty of trash cans in which to dispose of said waste. Clean up after your canines people! I dont bring the contents of my cats litter box and dump them where others are trying to enjoy themselves.

This is a great recreation area. It includes tennis courts, a basketball court, paved trail, hiking trail, ponds, playground, two pavilions, dog park, and its located right next to the fire station. This park has endless possibilities of fun!

I went to a lot of parks when I lived in Florida, and been to some very large state parks in Florida, but I did not know that such a nice park existed so close by. Very clean, lots of things to do and explore.

Silver Lake Recreation Area has an awesome dog park. There is a large dog area and a small dog area. Facility also has watering stations in both areas.
