Super beautiful beach, marina, and seawalls. There is a big green grassy field, colloqually known as the Open Space, which is a great place to relax or have a picnic. There is also a snack bar, public bathrooms, and a pavillion.

Beautiful park and beautiful beach! Designated swim area ensures safe swimming. Beach is clean and water is clear! The bay is a little chilly but nothing that cant be dealt with. There is a splash pad as well thats great for younger children to play in and have fun in the water!

Kind of like a hidden beach, as far as how to get to it and close to Traverse City shopping. Nice bathrooms and changing rooms. The sprinkler wasnt on but, we still have a really nice time. Bring a wagon to carry your things and an umbrella for shade.

Very nice, well maintained park. Nice walkways, restrooms, changing stalls, and marina. The childrens park has a few things to play on. Equipment is well kept. Splash pad nice for children. Beautiful views all over. We are here for a movie in the park during the 2018 Film Festival started by film producer Michael Moore. My daughter and I are relaxing and enjoying the different local musicians performing before the movie begins. Would recommend if visiting the Traverse City area.

Lovely park with a play area for kids and plenty of room to sit apart from the beach. During the day, theres even a little shop you can walk up to and grab food/drinks (probably non-alcoholic, but I didnt check). The beach is pretty long, and when I went on a Friday evening (during COVID) it wasnt at all packed. Kayak/paddle board rental is available on-site. I had a great time!

The pedestrian tunnel to cross the busy road is a very nice feature. Only walked to sit in the sand while enjoying my morning coffee but the main portions of the beach/park seemed to offer a ton including a little shop and big splash pad. The beach at the time I was there also had a life guard on duty.

Beautiful beach area! Rental booth employees were great, very understanding of the novices on paddleboards. Loved the slide board(not sure if that is what they are called) area and breaker wall jump off. Lifeguards were on their toes, doing their job! Will be back another time. Best beach area on Lake Michigan!

Ive been in Traverse City for most of my adult life and been bicycling through and around Clinch Park since 2011. So I have been there before and after the new additions were added. Overall its kept clean and nice and tidy. It offers a nice little eatery and good views from the downtown area and the surrounding water as well. Great for things like Sunsets and Sun Rises. Also one of the places you can go to view the 4th Of July Fireworks. There is also a nice little water play place and playground type environment for children of all ages to play. Of course with appropriate supervision that is. A nice place to get a nice quick cool down and things to climb on and all that.It appears to not have any other future plans to have any other additions added, at least for now. But its one of the nicer beaches all things considered for a Downtown Beach.

Another jewel in Traverse Citys crown of gorgeous places to enjoy (for free). The water is very high after our Gale force winds this week so people are gathered around to make sure all is well. The landscaping and lawns are beautifully maintained by the city. A great place to walk your dog or other best friend. I even found one of the painted rocks that are showing up around our natural wonder places here. Take a stroll, watch the sunset from the west (or sunrise from the east if you are an early bird) and be grateful to enjoy Cinch Park!

This is a very beautifully made beach front park..in that respect it deserves 5 stars. However, we took our 15 month old granddaughter and she had a ball... until she was mowed over and knocked backward by a group of slightly older toddlers/kids. These things happen, understandably, but what was appalling was that not ONE child OR parent of said children came to her aid, or even acknowledged (said oops, sorry, anything??) That they had knocked her down. Now, we live in the South, had this happened where we live... EVERYONE within a 100 ft radius would have attended to any hurt or injured child... and apologies would be abundant. Ive heard stories about some people of Traverse City... its all about the money, they say. What we will take away from our vacation here...is that MONEY clearly CANNOT buy you manners!

Very nice park. We were passing by here so we decided to stop and check it out while we waited on our other car. Parking was easy. The whole place was clean. The bathrooms were clean and they didnt smell which is really nice. They had a splash pad for the kids. There was some guy doing yoga. A couple people jogging. It was nice to see the boats ️ and watch the people playing. It was windy ️ and the water was very cold. We sat on the rocks and my friend put his feet in the water ️ Within a minute or two he said his feet were numb. But we both loved being there. It was a very peaceful ️afternoon

I grew up coming to this park and have fond memories of it when it was a zoo too! While I miss the zoo I still enjoy the relaxing walk around here and the open space events that take place during the summer months. It a great place to hang out and swim too! This is a lot of fun here during the National Cherry Festival every July 4th week. A true focal point complementing the northside historic downtown area on Grand Traverse West Bay.
