Beautiful winery, even on a rainy day. Have a nice patio area that is covered and protected in the rain. Very nice set up for COVID safety, but we went early and they werent very busy. Our pourer was very kind and knowledgeable. Seems like one of the few places you can still do a tasting. And their prices vary so you can choose something affordable or pricey. Really enjoyed our time here.

In a world where we were treated like we had the plague at most of the wineries we visited in TC (thank you, Covid), it was SO refreshing to experience a tasting at Chateau Grand Traverse! The wines were fantastic and the servers were all professional, fun, and kind! They and we followed all guidelines, and they were still able to make it an excellent experience for us! Thank you, Savannah and team! You were awesome! We can’t wait to come back!

We went to several different wineries in the peninsula and I vote this winery to be the best and heres why:1) Very affordable - for $5 you get to taste five different wines and, thanks to COVID, you get to keep your wine glass as a souvenir. Not only that the tasting is affordable but the wines themselves are very tasty and affordable. Dont you hate it when you do a tasting and the great wines that youd like to bring home cost >$50/bottle? Not with this place! I tried their low to high end and everything in between and I was just as satisfied with the low $13/bottle wine than I did the $30/bottle. So yes, you can bring a few bottles home for yourself and even gift some of their nicer wines without breaking the bank. Also great discount on bulk purchases or if youre in the military :)2) Location location location! Just outside of the property is a great lookout spot so ready your cameras. Also, when its not freezing outside, you can walk around the property with a great view.3) COVID-conscious. This is the best COVID-safety practicing winery that we went to. With that, theres a tradeoff where they dont take reservations for tasting and there may be longer lines as they only allow

Easily our favorite experience during our entire weekend stay.--My wife and I went wine tasting with another couple. We visited ten vineyards total during our weekend stay in the area. We are amateur wine tasters in every sense.THE GOOD:Very affordable and fun tasting options. Staff was friendly and generous with their pours. The owner hung-out with us at the bar and talked about wine, history, and romance. Wine options were extensive and tasted great! Fun, unique wine offerings. Bought two bottles at very affordable prices, especially compared to the rest of the peninsula.Clean, put together bathrooms.THE BAD:Average views. Not a lot of seating.

The wait was long due to COVID but other than that it was great! They are allowing 3 groups at a time to the bar for tastings. No more than 4 per group but if you have a big group you can split up. It’s $5 for 5 tastings and you get to keep the glass. The staff was awesome and very knowledgeable. They have a little gift shop and the way you find and buy wines was very organized. I loved the merlots that had a coffee taste and the sangria. I also loved the wine that they say is like “Christmas in a bottle”. I can’t remember the name. Over all it was a very pleasant experience with beautiful views!

Very nice winery. The tasting is truly a tasting (e.g. 1oz pour) 5 wines for $5!The server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. There is an educational video when you enter the tasting room that explains this vineyard’s winemaking process.Wines are affordable. The 2016 Silhouette Red Wine is fantastic! Best quality wine on the peninsula.Facility is very clean and well designed. I would say I could hang with Napa vineyards without any of the stuffiness. Also has good Covid protocols.

This place has a very sophisticated ambiance. Everything about it was very meticulous and clean. The wine tasting was the best that we had in Traverse City. The cherry wines were especially unique and noteworthy. We also took a guided tour of the vineyards and winery, which were amazing. The guide was very patient with all of our questions and really took the time to explain and elaborate on everything that he could.

This was a totally random last minute decision to come here and totally worth it. Ive had the Grand Traverse Risling Wine many times so it was nice to see where it comes from. My husband and I decided to do the wine tasting and I was very surprised that it was so inexpensive, 5 wines for $5! We added on Ice Wine for an additional $3 but well worth it. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines, made great recommendations and was genuinely nice to talk to. We ended up purchasing 3 of the wines we tried and walked out happy. It would be nice to come here again in the spring or fall to enjoy a glass of wine outdoors.

We are wine enthusiasts who have been tasting wine throughout Michigan. This is one of our favorite (if not THE favorite) wineries so far! All wines we’ve tasted were balanced, complex, expressive and of amazing value! They have a big menu that won lots of awards and we really liked their gamey noir and silhouette (red blend with some of the less known grape varietals). Pinot noir is also quite good too. We are definitely going to come back! Hope we can meet the owner next time for a vlog! Shout out to Max for fun and awesome service!

I loved their variety of cherry wine, but not the wait getting it. I purchased their sweet water, which was amazing. Their Grand Traverse late harvest was phenomenal as well for anyone who loves sweet whites. Didnt have any great views but I played in their grapes. Would return for their cheap prices! $3 for 5 tastings, $5 includes their reserve wine options.

My personal favorite winery in the area. The scenery is amazing and the outdoor patio is perfect to relax and enjoy your wine while being surrounded by the vineyard. They offer little tours of their wine making process every hour which is also really cool. Their wine is some of the best as well. Be sure to add this one on your checklist while wine tasting.

All they are worried about is getting their$5.00 fee. The tasting staff was attentive to everyone around us. Wine was nice, staff not so much. We had a flight of wine on the patio which costs more than the tasting. Everything about this place is wonderful! My (now) fiancée and I stayed at the inn here just over a week ago. We were lucky enough to catch a tour of the winery, did a few tastings, learned a ton about winemaking, and of course, came home with some incredible wine. Their staff are all friendly and incredibly knowledgeable on the process and science behind making wine. Special thanks to Ann who helped me coordinate my proposal on their scenic overlook deck! Out of all the wineries on the peninsula, this is without a doubt our favorite for so many reasons! We will absolutely be back, many times.

One word: Pretentious. Our wine tasting girl was really cute, kind, and knowledgable. But the atmosphere was stuck up. Even in OFF season with hardly anyone there. My husband said... Also, it smells unpleasant. I poured it down the drain. My husband said it smelled like vinegar.
