This has been our favorite winery in TC for a long time now. We love the very personal touch this place has. It doesn’t have the awesome lake view some of the others do, but it does offer great views of the vines and the whole property, the way the staff acts and treats patrons almost feels as if you are all part of a family. Very knowledgeable folks, extremely friendly, prices are great, and they have so many options as to where you can hang out. There are tents, a covered patio, a fireplace, tables right between the vines. We have seen live acoustic music there a number of times. The overall feeling here is just so unique, much more personal and less artificial than at some of the other “fancy” wineries.

Beautiful Vineyard. Wide selection of beverages. They have accommodations for any group size. We decided to stand between the Vineyard at a wine barrel and it was perfect. The shelter for making your selection was heated and the bartender was very helpful with making your selection. We were here in Sept with a rare 52 degree week. I couldnt imagine how amazing it would be mid summer or early spring or fall

Cute place but wine is not that interesting. They try to make wine from all the most common grapes instead of the one that grow well in their soil, or they know how to produce dynamic wine from.Like I said, nice settings, but wine and service is better at other places in the area.

My wife and I went to 4 wineries on our trip last week. This was our favorite of the 4. the view was great. They offer glasses and flights. The staff took their time, explained to us what each wine was in great detail, made us feel comfortable to ask questions. The wine at this place was also the best we had.

This was my first time in traverse city, so I definitely wanted to get a good wine tour experience. Me and my fiancé had Tyler take us through our tour, and he was absolutely great! Super knowledgeable about the winery and traverse city itself. We had an amazing time and learned a lot. Will definitely be coming back here in the future!

It was a rainy day so we made it he best out of the situation as best we could. Got the flagship flight for $22 plus tip but can’t say I enjoyed those wines. Tried one cider and found them more palatable to me. They only sold pre built flights or wine/cider by the glass.Vineyard area is cute, lots of outdoor space with tables in between.Made a last minute reservation and got a table under a tent. Service was good, nothing to complain about. One thing to note is that they only have port a pottys.

Incredible wine, beautiful views, lots of outdoor seating (if visiting during Covid) along with a selection of snacks. My husband and I had a quick getaway to Traverse and this was our favorite winery/vineyard we visited!! Definitely worth a trip to this mission peninsula gem! We made a reservation and it made the trip that much easier, though they were also allowing walk-ins.The only downfall for me was buying bottles of wine was confusing. They had a building but all entrances we saw said they were private/employee only and when we were leaving to buy bottles and go, we ended up just leaving since there didn’t seem to be an obvious way to purchase. I’ll have to stock up next time!

Not sure what just happened...my girlfriend and I showed up without a reservation on a Friday afternoon and were immediately seated. The wine was great and the bartenders were friendly; we were mostly finished with our flight and were considering buying a bottle when the same woman who seated us walked up and said our “reservation had ended twenty minutes ago...you need to wrap it up in the next five minutes”. We had no idea what to say so we just chugged the rest of the glasses and got up while she stood nearby, and our flight was immediately cleared when we got up. Not sure why the entry sign says “walk-ins welcome” but doesn’t specify you’ll get kicked out after less than an hour. Thanks a lot?

Nice atmosphere. However only thing good here. So so over priced wine and rude employee. They only serve flights they have bracketed. ie. Reds or whites and no substition. They claim per covid, likely excuse. Not only cant you sample a white and few reds, the flights are , 6-7 more than others in area.if you want to try one not in a bracket you must by a whole glass. Never again to many better choices in area.

They are normally our favorite spot from spring to fall.. Anna they havent disappointed during the pandemic. They dont have tastings that Ive found which means you spend a little more on a flight but they have so many more tables to enjoy your drinks. And the view never disappoints. Neither does their wine and cider. This will always be a spot my husband and I stop at when were in Traverse City!

Great experience. Enjoyed our time there!--Wife and I went wine tasting for the day with another couple. We visited ten vineyards total during our weekend stay in the area. We are amateur wine tasters in every sense.THE GOOD:Family-feel, homie, outdoor vibe. Good music playing as we walked to the bar to place our order. Staff was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Ciders available as well as wine.Fantastic tasting wine selection. Enjoyed all wines that we tried. We ordered a five-wine flight for $22. The pours were very generous, felt like a great deal (around half a glass for each pour so 2.5 glasses of wine per flight). We sat IN THE VINEYARD. The views were not dramatic or stunning by any means, but it was nice to sit among the vines. We also walked a few rows of the vineyard as well.THE BAD:When we were there, there were only porta-potties available (might have been a COVID-19 issue). No indoor, actual bathrooms available to the public. No breathtaking views.

My husband and I visited Bowers Harbor twice on our long anniversary weekend. The first visit was for an anniversary picnic in the vines. I thought it was a good value; we received five generous samples of wine each and a food plate (cheese, cheese spread, salami, crackers, pretzels, and chocolate covered cherries) for $60. We really enjoyed several of the wines and the coziness of the vineyard (it was a chilly spring day so they had a bonfire lit). Our only criticisms are that they werent totally prepared for us even though we reserved our time days in advance (to their credit, it was cool outside with a chance of rain, so perhaps they didnt think wed actually want to sit outside). I would have also preferred something other than pretzels and sesame crackers to go with the meat and cheeses. The second visit was for the Blossom Day wine trail event. It was the busiest spot on the trail which I think speaks volumes about the vineyard. We got to try more of their yummy wine and ciders and meet more of their friendly staff. It became a favorite for us.

Loved this place! We came here in a 14 person tour and their staff welcomed us with open arms! We had our own picnic table ready for us when we got there. We immediately started our tasting and our guide was so nice with quite generous pours. One thing I noticed about this vineyard were the tables placed between vines so you can really eat and drink in the middle of it all, which gave you a truly unique experience. I loved their blueberry and peach cider combo, and had to take some home!

Living in Traverse City there are a lot of winery/cider options, however Bowers is by far the best in my opinion. The quality of wine is the best Ive ever had. We hated our experience here, it started out okay but this place is just crazy crowded. Then if you want to check out you have to wait in a really long lineof people paying for drinks that they cant remember what they were called. Im not sure how this honor system works for them, but it drove my husband and I insane. The wine was okay, they had way too much to choose from for me to be able to tell you if theyre good at it or not. But I didnt like anything enough to buy a bottle, so we left and swore never to go back.

Excellent wine and ciders with beautiful scenery. We stopped by for a tasting during a busy time, but we hovered near the outdoor bar and were noticed right away. The woman helping us was amazing: she was helpful and relaxed, despite the fact that she was scurrying around a bit between customers. She chatted with us and lent her personal thoughts (all good!) to the wines and ciders we tried. I wish I could remember her name! The garden/outdoor area is relaxing and offers plenty of shade and side tables if you want to take a glass and enjoy it, or if you need to keep little ones busy. The tasting fee includes your wine glass, which she wrapped up for us. The grapefruit and watermelon ciders were some of the best weve tried, so of course we had to buy some! I noticed a staff member checking on the people sitting in the chairs too, which was nice to see. **My sister went earlier in the day and had a slightly different experience. They also went to outdoor bar area and gentleman serving their tasting kept referring to the ciders as weak, or not their best, hoping the next batch would be better. He also asked if they wanted their glasses (they are included) and seemed a bit put out that she did.
