Such a large and beautiful park! 2 big baseball/soccer fields, tennis courts, an open grassy area for picnics, off leash dog park with picnic tables nearby and multiple basketball courts (some covered)! The dog park is a combo of sand and grass so it can be muddy during the winter but thats unavoidable. The dog park is not fenced in and theres lots of squirrels around in case your dogs recall isnt great. Theres no water fountain nearby so need to bring your own for your pup!

Pretty nice neighborhood park with a dog park, a playground, baseball fields, tennis courts, three basketball courts (one of them is even covered). Quiet and chill. Ten minutes walk away is the Williams Ave with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants.

Great park, clean and I love how they are re-doing the landscaping all around. Every morning, I see some sort of crew out cleaning, maintaining, and doing whatever they are doing to keep this a safe and clean park. The restrooms always smell like bleach, which is a great thing...and theres always a four legged friend to say hello to. Whether its a walk around, some bball, tennis or even some softball...Irving Park has plenty to enjoy

One of my favorite dog parks! All of the dog parents stand in a circle and chat while their pups go crazy and have fun around them! Its also a nice park to walk through. My dog loves it there! She knows where we are before I even park! She is going crazy in the back seat knowing we are about to have fun with all the other dogs!

A great all around park. The dog area is a little muddly and not fenced in but there is lots of well maintained field space and plenty of benches and picnic spots around. Also the surrounding neighborhood is rather nice if you are wanting to extend your stroll.

Great urban park to stop with lunch. Plenty of trees and places to run the kids out. Let your dogs run without a leash too. Dogs love it but I’d your terrified of dogs, too bad. Don’t get close to them. Portland likes dogs — Deal with it.

Pleasant, above average city park. Many mature trees, nice pathways, children’s play structures, and ball fields. Fairly large size. There is an off-leash dog park in the middle of the park in an unfenced area.

Review №15

A safe haven of a park, large, with roaming room. A dog park with basketball, tennis, baseball, and soccer accoutrements; the only downside to the place is the restrooms are perpetually locked, which has led to a policy of using the park for a toilet, accepted out of necessity and with courtesy. Maybe its the Covid thing, but I would think that the powers-that-be would prefer to maintain their restrooms to the alternative... But what do I know? Otherwise Id give the place a 5.

Great playground and splash pad for the kids. Three baseball fields that double as great recreational green space. The jogging trail and great assortment of trees offer a great urban nature atmosphere. The three basketball courts, 1 that’s covered, get fairly good run on nice days. All in all, it’s a top notch park

Awesome place to walk around, play in the water park, you will get wet! Several baseball fields to use, several picnic tables to use, tennis courts to play either singles or doubles, pet friendly, (just remember to bring your poop bags!), wide open space for games, running around, bringing a blanket and taking a nap!!!! my favorite thing to do! or reading a good book!!!! Massive tall trees for plenty of shade all over the park! A great place to go when the weather is hot and you dont want to cook at home, take a picnic to the park, plenty of room for everyone! If youre going to have a party or want to play baseball, then you need to make reservations ahead of time, well in advance of your date!! as they fill up fast!!!! or you can bring your own table n chairs and find a good spot to have your picnic! and enjoy yourselves.... Have an awesome summer at the park!!!!

I take my dog here every day. There is a fairly large off leash area for dogs. Please only bring your dog here if it is well-socialized and used to playing with high-energy dogs. There seem to be a lot of owners in the area who have no idea how to handle their dogs at an off leash park, and that really ruins it for everyone else.

Irving Park is a great place to bring your kids for play time. The park has been upgraded over the years to include some more sophisticated and modern playground equipment. Theres also a pair of softball fields that are a little uneven, but good for practice. The dog area is open and very sandy, but populated with daredevil squirrels who seem unconcerned with their wellbeing, which is a good workout for most dogs. There are tennis and basketball courts as well, and while the park has seen a lot of wear and tear, its still a central recreation point for Irvington and Albina.

Its a nice park but parking is a hassle. I dont spend much time in the neighborhood these days since the area has changed and become trendy. Its not an environment where I would feel comfortable allowing my teenage son to go play a pick up game of basketball without an adult relative. It can be uncomfortable at times for POC. But if youre going for a power walk or the type to do yoga in the park or allow your dog to run around off leash pooping wherever and not picking it up youd feel right at home. It has seemed to morph into an adult space over the last few years and less of a family friendly public park.
