Mount Tabor is amazing, even in normal days. Its an inactive volcano in the middle of a city, with an amazing view of Portland, what else could you want? But Mount Tabor in the middle of a pandemic, on a clear winter day, its absolute perfection. Grab a beer and a buddy and stay 6 ft apart while you walk around this inactive volcano and just remember that this used to be the most amazing communal picnic spot in all of the city. Pick up your trash.

The park is currently open with a number of restrictions including no vehicular access, closed restrooms, picnic and play areas. You find a number of hiking trails in the park that is one of a few cinder cones that is located in a city. The three trails range from easy to difficult on paved and unpaved surfaces.Their are several reservoirs with great views of the city. The is over fifty varieties of trees including Giant Sequoia, Coastal Redwood and Oregon Myrtle.A great place with a dog park, great hills to ride your bike, hike or walk.

I was looking for an easy walk while waiting to pick up my son from work. This was my first time in the Mount Tabor area and I found it to be an oasis in the midst of a hot Portland day with a nice mix of trails. There were numerous runners, cyclists and people having picnics and small gatherings on the nicely manicured lawns. I will certainly add this to the list of places to return to next time I need a quick reconnect with nature in the big city.

The most beautiful park in all of Portland with exhilarating gorgeous panoramic majestic veiws that showcase the finest of the cityscape of the city of roses absolutely breathtaking anytime night or day but the park opens just prior to sunrise and closes after sunset when if you can be there for it you cant but just sit in a quiet spot and take in some of the best visual imagery I have ever seen

Best park in Portland! If your looking for the cinder cone thats left from the volcano (yes the park is an active volcano) look over by the basketball courts. Great views of the city on any of the western slopes.

Great place to walk and enjoy its beauty however too many are not wearing masks and its unavoidable at intersections and narrower trails to social distance. Wear masks people so everyone can be safe and free to enjoy.

Tabor is a multifaceted public park, with racing tracks, hiking trails, an off leash dog park, a number of play grounds scattered around. Great sets of stairs to climb straight up the mountain. Terrific city views. Lovely picnic areas. An harborist walk. Water reservoirs. And the only extinct volcano in the middle of a city, park in Oregon!

It was nearly pristine. Trees all around. Nice clean air. You feel like you step out of Portland, and into a forest. Only bad thing is their is severely limited parking. But that cant really be improved on, because youd have to cut out trees and such.

Super easy and paved trails. Through several breaks in the trees you can see parts of Portland which is pretty awesome. You can also see water reservoirs, which at first I thought were swimming pools. *Ex-Texan here, thinking open water sources are outdoor pools.

Mount Tabor doesnt have a visitor center. The park itself is great -- 5 stars! But since there is no visitors center I lowered it to 3 stars. There is a very small parking lot and a bathroom and a few pamphlets you can grab across from the childrens area and the picnic area. Is that what theyre calling a visitor center? By the way, if the parking lot is full (it usually is) then park on the side of any road without a no parking sign. Also its helpful to know that the park is closed to vehicles on Wednesdays. Park below in the residential area and walk up

A hidden view of #mounthood also makes it extra special when u reach the summit area.Overall a good experience to go during the weekends.Oh yes!!
