Gorgeous place for a nightly walk. Fair warning, youll feel some shakes when a semi or something drives by.Hopefully youll be spared the small heart attack that I felt when a large truck drove past the first time. With the one exception, its an incredibly calming walk. Not to mention the amazing architecture of the bridge itself.

This bridge is beautiful. I didn’t think I would appreciate the beauty of a bridge but this one definitely changed my mind. All the pictures where taken a while back ago (last year) in May. I would recommend going underneath the bridge and admire it from the bottom. The is a little park underneath the bridge where you can sit and admire the view. There were a few people with blankets and their pups which was great. So I would recommend having a picnic there, I wish I would’ve.

Beautiful! We went fishing off the dock; but lots of swimming and fun going on. Dont worry everyone was more then a safe 6 feet apart. And we got lucky! My 5yr old got a small salmon . He was so proud. Oh and you can drop a boat off here. We are going to rent one just to curse for a few hours.

Beautiful bridge with great views! We walked over it in the day time but I am sure that night time is better. My dog wasnt a big fan of crossing because it is a busy bridge and the sidewalks arent wide - its a bridge. It is also a convenient connection between cathedral park on the East side and Forest Park on the West side.

We are so lucky living in an area that has such magnificent bridges!Portland is definitely unique and wonderful.Crossing the Willamette River, St. Johns Bridge stands tall with the highest boat clearance at 205 feet. It’s two Gothic Towers, that influenced the naming of adjacent Cathedral Park, stand at 400 feet!Either side of the River has great areas to visit, whether it is Cathedral Park or Forest Park.It is only one of three suspension bridges in Oregon. It is unmistakable, very beautiful, and quite stunning to see.

My favorite bridge in Portland! If you want great views and architecture then you would love this bridge! No matter the time of day I can always count on this bridge to be beautiful no matter what time of year, day, or the condition of weather. The traffic is not bad and I enjoy looking out to saint johns or Forest park depending on which way I’m going. I also enjoy the countless boats and barges that shuttle back and fourth underneath the bridge. During fleet week this is where I go to watch the shops go by. The cathedral towers shadow down onto the road when dusk hits. The sunrises and sunsets care truly beautiful and I would consider them a price of art.

Talk about the most amazing backdrop! The colors of the bridge melt so well with the trees behind it. The lines create amazing shapes. And even if its raining, youre covered underneath it. The parking lot nearby helps too ;)Driving over the bridge is a wee bit scary, but its so worth it!!

Beautiful structure. Lovely park underneath the bridge to take it in or you can walk across and stop at one of the viewpoints for the view. It can be daunting to walk across due to the traffic and lack of guard rail.

The best time to explore this bridge is early in the morning when it is shrouded by a heavy fog. It’s a horror movie scenario as you walk I to the abyss as visibility is only a couple of metres. From the centre of your bridge, you’ll be spoilt with the best views up the river. Also perfect photo opportunities from the riverbank looking up at the bridge

Im not necessarily a bridge enthusiast, but I have to say that St. Johns Bridge is one of my favorites so far! It is the prettiest teal color and just looks all around classy. We drove over it to get to Cathedral Park and the views were incredible. Cathedral Park was so beautiful as well and I highly recommend visiting if you have a chance!

The kind of bridge that makes you want to buy green paint. Walking across this bridge, I get the sudden urge to tether myself to the girders and block the shipping lane to protest offshore drilling. Its a nervous bike ride (right lane for bikes, but cars BLOW past you), and noisy pedestrian crossing, but it gets us from Forest Park and NW Portland to a few of our favorite places in North Portland. A beautiful Gothic style suspension bridge.

Such a fascinating bridge!! Beautiful colour with gorgeous design. Walking onnthe bridge in the morning with fogs coming out from the forest park was one of my best experience!! But the road fir pedestrians is quite dangerous, because there are no fence between the road and the pedestrians road. So everytime when a big car or truck passed by me, my body swong and it was quite scary. But it was great experience to walk on the bridge from the end to the other end.

Human beings are a wellspring of emotions. Of all of them, perhaps the most powerful of them all is love. I posit that we react most strongly to love, require it the most, feel it the most vividly, as the souls natural response to a loving Creator. Run away from the love of God and decline to hand it to him, and youll undoubtedly find yourself loving something else. If love is complete and utter surrender to another, theres no way of going through life without giving yourself over to something, whatever it may be or look like.I bring this up because on my first visit to St. Johns Bridge, my friends got married. And I got to witness their loving union.

This is such a beautiful park and bridge in Portland. I was able to come in during my trip to Portland and it was breathtaking. This bridge itself sits in a park, which stretches for a while. I was able to come directly under the bridge while under the park and it was marvelous. My only complaint is the local wildlife. I was almost attacked by a Canadian Goose while here and it was a heart-throbbing moment. :( (This a joke, I love animals but geese terrify me because of how territorial and fearless they can be sometimes.Driving on the bridge was another story. It was even more beautiful than being under it.

The view of the bridge is great. theres a little beach, a dock, & a boat launch. ive seen river otters countless times, 1 night i saw a mommy racoon w 3 little babies (too adorable). lots of grass meaning lots of room to run around which is good if you have young kids that need to burn out some energy. it is in an industrial type of area so a train track & a road do cut thru the park so of course watch any animals you have with you (kids or dogs)! during the right time of the year walking along the beach exploring is cool too BUT (another warning) like many other places in the ptld-metro there are homeless people scattered so use some caution if walking the beach or surrounding trails at night

The St. Johns Bridge is a work product of the great history of America. The lanes are narrow for the big trucks for sure. The joy of passing over this artwork never ends, I used to travel over it two times a day. The views are just as beautiful one day to the next. It makes me a proud American every time I see the construction--which if you have read Wikipedia know began a month before the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and provided many county residents with employment. It is magic to create such a priceless beauty at the time of our greatest economic devastation.
