There are a lot of things packed into this one little park! Trails, a tiny pond, benches by the bushes, an undulating sculpture wall made from 99 railroad tracks. It definitely feels like there are a lot of thoughts put int planning this park. There is even a sign that explains how this contemplative space represents the natural history of the Pearl district.

I love love this little gem of a park. Perfect small, urban park. There are signs explaining and describing its sustainability practices and historical location facts. Which mark some of my fave reasons to love it. Other reasons: places to sit √, pond with creeks running into it √, shady trees and beautiful natural setting, walking paths and ducks.

There is a variety of places to sit in this park. Whether you want to sunbathe next to the water on a concrete lily pad or just rest at a bench beneath the beautiful trees among the manicured landscape. Or just park it on the stairs of grass for reflection or lunch. Really mellow n relaxed vibe!

There are larger parks in Portland, more lush with trees and space for sports. But if youre looking for an outdoor oasis midday to meet up with a friend for lunch or tea this spot is truly perfect. Far enough from downtown to feel quiet and comfortable. Beautifully designed, with soft waving grasses and marsh vibe, lots of places to sit and boardwalk paths to wander. If you have little kids in tow there are tons of things to keep their attention, ducks and fish in the water and the streetcar going around the park. One of my favorite city (like, inside the city) parks Ive ever come across.

Tanner Springs Park is a great city park located in the Pearl District. It’s a nice location and the neighborhood offers a lot of great restaurants and shops. We stopped at the Tea Bar NW (which I have also reviewed) which is right across the street. And then we came over and strolled around. We parked on NW 11th Avenue which is a Pay-To-Park street but which does offer a great view of the Fremont Bridge (see photo).

Hello. I love this pond. I like painting watercolors, drawing, and whatever art Im working on at the time. The fish were removed when they cleaned it. I get the line that its an experiment so nothing introduced that didnt get there there on their own. I would just like to mention that the small skeeter fish as we called them as a child are very useful for eating mosquito larve. I dont need to tell you why that is a good thing. I was there yesterday and the larve are coming out now. I am just curious to know

Nicely designed park, was really amazed to see that they even had little signs to keep watch of the wildlife so they can maintain species balance in the park. I think it was preying mantis but not sure. Cool place to chill amidst the surrounding buildings and passing by public transportation.

I absolutely love this oasis in the middle of the Pearl. We need more of these in Portland... Only downside: southside stairs always have smokers nearby - really ruins a lovely evening by the water. So my biggest tip would be to sit on the northside steps!

Great park to relax in and eat lunch. Feels like an escape within the Pearl District. Depending on the time of year, water lillies will grow in the pond. Also great place to spot koi fish, and perhaps the occasional duck. Lots of places to sit and relax. Probably my favorite park downtown.

Nice urban (dog free) park in Portlands Pearl District. Fresh water springs feed the little river and koi ponds. Lots of fish that come up to the surface expecting a treat. I didnt notice any fish pellet dispensers.Numerous areas to sit under trees, out in the sun or on big steps that go down into the park.Great access by Portland Streetcar service. Plenty of food options surround this park.Often used by folks working in the area, locals living in the area, along with visitors to Portland.Nice little urban oasis!

This beautiful park is a block of wilderness right in the middle of the Pearl District. The large pond, which takes up a fair amount of the park, has a floating walkway over it that you can see the awesome fish that live in the pond year-round. A fun place for your lunch break or to take your kids and name all the fish. Lots of benches throughout the park as well.

Love this park with its native and natural plantings and habitat. There is always room to find a space in solitude here. The parks that are North and South of Tanner Springs are much more popular and can be packed on a nice day but Tanner Springs will always have lots of space to spread out and enjoy the park. The park is planted with native plants and trees and has a natural pond fed by the springs. Its a fabulous place to read a book and listen to music on your earbuds while you lunch on a deli sandwich and salads from the nearby Safeway store on a warm sunny day.

Beautiful park. Well kept. No trash or excessive debris. Several other people on the trails. Witchs Castle is really neat and a fun photo op. Lots of beautiful scenery. The trees, vines, moss, lichen, mushrooms, and stream all make this a really visually enjoyable trail. The parts I walked were not intense and loads of kids were able to keep up. We brought our dog and he loved it. Many dogs on the trails too. Wonderful city escape.

One of my favorite places to eat lunch during the work week. they often stock the pond with schools of fish that are very fun to watch. during the spring there was a family of ducks, and even a wayward heron that would wade into the waters to pick at the fish from the muddy depths. the space is always clean and dotted with local portland folk who work nearby on sunny days.

For Oregon this is a strange place to call a park, but that doesnt take away from its cool factor. Its easy to pass by it and mistake for a vacant lot. However, once you park, get out and actually take a walk around you began to appreciate the space. As for its intended design one is left to guess but the fact that it exist at all is the real selling point of this little park. Im not a tree hugger and Im pro progress for our city but having worked and watched the neighborhood grow over the last ten years Im actually glad this space will be left as is. Its also a popular place for getting hitched photos. Next time you happen to be in the neighborhood check it out and walk the planks.

Such a unique park in the middle of the Pearl. In an attempt to help clean up waste water from the city streets and add green space this small park came about. Native flowers bloom through out with a small boardwalk and pond. Zen area in a busy city. There are plenty of spots to eat and shop close by. If you are going to walk a pet here, keep in mind that the is a mecca for pets, so if your animal does not do well around others, leave it at home.
