I had an unfortunate event happen, my wallet was taken with my ID, ebt, and debit cards. The person was able to change my pin ( all they need is your birthday btw) and spend it all. I couldnt get reimbursed but I was treated well.This branch, however, tried to interrogate me, was extremely rude, and told me it couldnt happen, and no one can change your pin over and over. He was constantly interrupting me, was slurring his words, and hung up on me. I was polite the whole time. And let him know I wasnt even interested in discussing the stolen ebt anymore. He asked me what I wanted and kept asking repetitive irrelevant questions that I had to continue to answer in the same way. He was extremely unprofessional. I wish I had caught his name, because if he tries to make everyone feel that bad he shouldnt be answering phones or be in a position to affect peoples lives.Extremely disappointed with this experience.

I was able to renew my benefits, by application, in person and had them within a few hours. Despite what they were dealing with outside of my case, they remained very professional.

Went to pick up new card it was pretty quick. Staff are amazing.

Its taking 2 weeks to process my annual review. I should of had Snap on the 2nd. I wont have it now till the 20th. Ive already lost 10 lbs this month. Not by choice.

Staff is wonderful! Super friendly, helpful, and they explain things thoroughly. HOWEVER there is NO RESTROOM. Its insulting that this place calls itself the Department of Human Services but they want to deny the most basic of human needs, even to individuals with appointments. They made me walk around the corner to the Waterfront to wait in a long line of people to use the Portland Loo. The Loos are great but I shouldnt have to go find one when I have an appointment on the books for social services.

Ony twuce have I gonec there & had a long wait. 4 a govt office the workers r VERY nice & friendly.

The employees up front do their jobs well. Kind and respectful. The ones in back, not so much. We are all a name & number.

At the NM branch the service is always encouraging and reasonable to the limita that can be upheld. Waiting is ok even when its a need but I have leanred that goid things peoples and action comes in great proportions when I wait patiently.

This particular DHS office is never crowded. And if there are more than the usual, they get through their line pretty quickly.Very helpful, informative and friendly workers here. At least in my experiences.

I was surprised that there was no one in there so we got in and out. Staff is very friendly and helpful.Overall clean and comfortable experience. I even went back for my appointment to this very location, and was not expecting to be treated so very well.

Great place got my stuff done theres a guy there that kept saying that I should not have cash I dont have 10 if I should not have cash what are you talking about lady you dont got cash try to take my cache a sentence away for me yeah so I start yelling and his supervisor came I ask to talk to his supervisor and then she fix my stuff tagging working there for years and didnt know what the hell I was talking about why I should have cash assistance they go well duh Im usually not at these office Im usually at I totally different than office in this one but whatever

The staff here are absolutely amazing. Ive never had a problem with this dhs. Im taken care of quickly, all my problems or questions are anwsered fastly. This is probably the best dhs i have personally ever gone to.

They are always changing the way things work. Never know what to expect and now you have to wait in line just to get an application. Stupid. I guess we should just take our punishment for needing help with food and shut up. Thats a good approach towards self sufficient confidence.

Although the interior of the office is super depressing, every time Ive had to go down to check on my EBT Ive experienced really nice and helpful service. Its a crummy job, Im guessing, so I am grateful that they are able to employ some kind folks.

I work for DHS as a care worker, supporting disabled citizens.THIS particular location (AND the SW 4th and Oak Aging and Disability location) are BOTH the MOST helpful locations! They both have employees that are EXTREMELY loving, truly caring and helpful for their clients that depend on them. Its a thankless job, where they have to work INCREDIBLY INCREDIBLY HARD, day-in-&-day-out... Taking care of people... SO SO MANY people, whom would otherwise be unable to get help or suck devoted support from any other source.Thank you, DHS!!

This place knows how to treat people. Alot of people who come here have mental health problems and dont understand how to recognise or deal with them. These folks know how to be professional when met with opposition.
