The Vessel is an absolute must see! Its a beautiful piece of architecture. While you normally can go in usually before 7pm we went later in the night and it was gorgeous with all the lights for the holiday season. It is located near a mall called the Shops and is also reasonably close to the Chelsea pier.

Great view. However, there’s an elevator for the disable people only. The service does get choppy there so you need to have your tickets preloaded. Although, it was a lot of work to make it to the top it was worth it. They had an outdoor movie theater which is great for a date night. Def recommend it if you’re looking for a great time.

Its a very odd structure but beautiful at the same time. It wasnt too packed inside, and there is an elevator for handicapped or elderly folks that cant walk up all the steps. We bought the flex pass whi h is $10 per person which isnt too bad but you can go anytime you want on the day you choose. 1 time use. General admission is free but you need to pick a day and time and need to stick to it. The picture opportunities are great and the shopping mall next to is for Christmas time is gorgeous. It is a tourist trap and includes many really high end stores so dont expect to go on a shopping spree.

Got the chance to see this art in person thrice. The massive monument is worth visiting at least once with a great view of the Hudson River. The second time visiting you can still fee the awesomeness, the third time, you’ll lose the charm. The stairs are really fun to climb though. When you reach to the top, try to enjoy the experience!Lastly, don’t forget to book your free ticket at the entrance door of the Vessel!

We were lucky to go and be tourist in our own city and visit all these beautiful landmarks and buildings when its not crowded due to the pandemic. The normal drive for us would be an hour and change but we were lucky enough to get there in 30 minutes and parked right outside the vessel. The place looks amazing and mesmerizing. It looks like something futuristic or alien built.

We went up to the Vessel at Hudson Yard yesterday and it was nice! After months of closing, they finally opened two weeks ago. Since no tourists due to quarantine situation, it was not crowded which was nice. Everyone was wearing masks and being safe. When you are up there, you can take some interesting pictures. My health monitor said I walked total of 37 floors so great exercise while having fun!

Beyond a magnificent experience viewing the scenes of New York City’s Skyline while climbing the stairs of the vessel and feeling the gentle wind kissing your cheeks. Absolutely Breathtaking and I’d recommend a visit once you’re in the big Apple!!! Shopping mall is right next to it and u can walk around the popular area. There’s Macy’s, Penn station, etc right around the neighborhood. While you’re there check out The Edge NYC also!! Tickets are required to visit which can be purchased right there by scanning a barcode and guess what??? It’s free of cost!!!!!!

Its interesting and makes great photos but its totally penned in on three sides by buildings. The only two views are north (not of anything particularly noteworthy) and west toward the Hudson (over the train yard, not the best). I went to catch the sunset but that was a bust. It was 90% blocked by a building. I wouldnt add this to my list of must-see stops in NYC but if you come back for a second visit and have nothing better to do its a fun stop.

Ive known about the Vessel for a while now but was unable to go due to COVID. They recently reopened about a month or two ago. Their current reservation system is the same as before I believe. You can go online and reserve an hour-long window to visit during, which is free. You can also purchase a flex-ticket for $10 which covers the entire day and you can show up at any time during that day. I believe you can also arrive on the day-of in hope to get same-day tickets at one of the nearby kiosks. The Vessel is located in a plaza between 30-33rd streets and 10-11th avenues. You can take the 7 train to the Hudson Yards station and walk about a block to the Vessel as well. I arrived at around 3:30 for my 4-5PM ticket. I decided to take a stroll at the mall which has lots of high end stores on the main floor, but others including some food options on the higher floors. Around 4:10 I made my way to the Vessel entrance where they scanned my e-ticket (you can also bring out a printer ticket). They then did a quick bag check and I proceeded into the Vessel. A wonderful and amazing structure. Lots of stairs to climb so be mindful of that. Though there are a lot fo stairs, they are not steep steps. Also after each set of stairs (about 14 steps) there are landings where you can stop rest and take pics of course. Bring comfortable shoes to climb those stairs. There is also an elevator available but that may be reserved for disabled visitors. Lots of people are taking pics as you can imagine. Masks are required to be worn at all times but people do take them off intermittently to take photos. There were a number of staff there patroling and reminding people to keep their masks ON. It is okay to take it off for a few seconds for a photo op, but not much longer than that. Also sunsets seem to be the most popular times as the Vessel offers some amazing views of the sun setting of over the Hudson River. Lots of people were on the upper platforms getting photos while the sun was setting. If you are taking photos be sure to look up and down...the Vessel structure is pretty amazing and both birds eye views from the top and worms eye views from the bottom are pretty cool. Also, fellow photographers, tripod are NOT allowed to be used while at the Vessel, but you can keep one in your backpack as long as you use it. Also...I was told by two security guards while on the HUdson Yards grounds that the grounds are private property (much like Rockefeller Center) and tripods are NOT allowed to be used ANYWHERE on the plaza. Overall it was a great experience. It is a lovely structure in a lovely plaza with lots of photo ops. It is absolutely free and all staff members I encountered were very helpful. Their reservation system works well during the pandemic. I highly recommend everyone to visit.

Amazing architecture! I recommend going early in the morning, since it tends to get packed and have longer wait times as the day progresses. Entrance is free, but you do have to reserve your entry time. You can either do that online or on site by scanning a QR code and selecting desired entry time. Be advised, you’ll have to climb a lot of stairs, or you can take the elevator, but oftentimes you have to form a line.

The Vessel really is a work of art. It’s become one of the newest staples in the city.Getting a ticket to go in was very quick and easy, and upon arrival we were quickly admitted in. When you enter you’re immediately shown the different areas you can start heading up, if you have some sort of disability they have an elevator (very cool looking) that escorts you to different levels. The walk up isn’t problematic, I went during cooler time and it wasn’t too cold, if anything the breeze was appreciated. You can however take your tome waking up the steps, so take a break if you need to.For any photographers into architecture, this is definitely a nice spot to come take some shots. You get lots of beautiful images from each corner that you turn, each level that you go up.Overall, very well designed structure located in a well designed area. Hudson Yards is very beautiful, and also not too distant from the entrance of The Highline which is another nice spot to see.

Honestly, I was expecting more. I think the best time to visit this place would be as the sun sets, or at night. The lights add more of an excitement, I went during the day (3pm) it was pretty quiet, barely any people. If beating the crowd is your thing then go during the day, but in my personality opinion at night would probably give you more of a wow factor. Overall Beautiful architecture, spacious enough to not overcrowd & Getting tickets was pretty easy. Scan the barcode and download free tickets.

Astonishing and worth the detour from typical sightseeing. The Vessel is an architectural triumph with a mixture of public recreation, urban beautification, and structural engineering. The venue was free, though we scheduled our tickets(place holder really) a week in advance. The climb up to the upper landings was (and should be) relatively easy for anyone of good health. The view is outstanding. Not just looking out from the upper landing, but also from looking down into the Vessel itself. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick and reaching nearly 150 feet from the ground, the structure mimics the ancient stepwells of India, though rising above ground rather than down into it. The footprint of the structure is only 50 feet wide, but expands to 150 feet at the top. With no floors or other façade to disguise supports as typical construction would use, the vessel instead includes the supports in the interconnecting flights of stairs. Manufactured in Italy, each of these “dog bone” pieces were shipped across the sea to be assembled in Hudson Yards. This is a must-see for everyone visiting NYC.

Not much to do outside due to COVID so I decided to be a home town tourist and go to the vessel, unfortunately we could not go inside but it does look nice and I’m sure pictures would be amazing from the top. I have to say: As controversial as the construction of Hudson Yards and this Vessel has been to many New Yorkers, thats how interesting of a place it is and Im glad they built it. Aside from the nearby Jacob Javitz Center, this area of NYC was pretty much dead. And, this aided and added to its revival. The Vessel is also a very interesting and artistically-inclined structure. Once on top of it, it also provided very cool views. And the Vessel itself is a cool view from the ground, as well. I definitely recommend visiting it!

I didn’t think it was attractive. However, in person. The bronze beauty won me over. If you go at the right time in the day, you will see the sun shining in it’s glory. And you will see the sun elegantly setting in the evening. The area is well-kept and not noisy. There is no entrance into the Vessel this year. The luxury shopping mall is a few steps away. I enjoy coming to both see and climb the Vessel for beautiful views of the surrounding area as well as the Hudson River and New Jersey. I find it particularly striking at sunset. The structure is only 150 feet tall, with short staircases followed by landings, so its not that youre consistently climbing. Each landing offers a photo worthy view. For those with difficulty climbing stairs, theres an elevator inside. Its free to enter but you must either print a timed ticket from a kiosk nearby or scan a barcode on your phone. I love architecture and design, and Thomas Hardwicks fascinating creation reminds me of M.C. Eschers famous black and white prints, if you take photos of the Vessel in monochrome. It also looks like a giant honeycomb, with its mirrored auburn exterior. It has no bathroom, but there are very clean facilities inside the upscale shopping center right outside. I think its definitely worth at least one visit.
