My visit was part of a guided tour narrated expertly and skillfully by Dan on 11/25/20. I learned many fascinating facts about the Basilica in particular and the evolution of the Church in NYC over the centuries. Since the tour took place during the pandemic, the 6 people including the tour guide wore masks and maintained social distancing. The tour took place both indoors, inside the church, and the catacombs.Definitely recommended.

Was able to see the tombstones, inside the church and the catacombs by going to the catacombs by candlelight tour and I had a great time. The basilica is beautiful and the backstory of the location and surrounding area is engaging. I had Dan as a tour guide and absolutely recommend checking them out.

I have been atrending the Old Saint Patrick s Cathedral regularly on weekends for a few months and I am enjoying it so much. Confessions are always available before mass on saturday and sunday. The priests are very pious and have excellent theological preparation. Priests are also making an amazing work by organizing events so like minded people can socialize. I will keep supporting this church which preserves the true catholic faith in a refined way.

DO THIS! A great experience for visitors as well as New Yorkers (like us)! I thought I knew about St. Patricks and its history. But then we took the tour. Our guide, Leo, was superb. Fun, engaging, very conversational with his approach. The Catacombs and church history are the very stuff of NYC. They really bring it to life. Who knew Delmonicos was the first restaurant in America? Who knew a wine merchant introduced opera to America? Who knew the bishop threatened the mayor if any harm came to this church? The colorful cast is entombed in the catacombs. And Leo made us feel like we knew them personally. One thing I especially liked was that Leo used a pocket projector to shoot pictures of the people entombed on the walls. Really brought the names to lifeI highly recommend this experience. The church and catacombs are a rich treasure. The history and what role the parishioners played in shaping NYC . . . all fascination

Gorgeous 200 years old church is the place of many historical events and has burial sites of many famous people. It is also a site of the only NYC catacombs recently opened for public tours. We had an amazing tour with exceptionally knowledgeable guide Leo. The spectrum of his expertise and his sense of humor made this tour enjoyable and learning experience for the very diverse crowd

An under-appreciated gem tucked away in Little Italy — definitely worth checking out. Read up on its rich history dating back 200+ years (the cornerstone was laid just a few years after the revolutionary war) and take in the stunning architecture: it was designed by Joseph-François Mangin, also known for having designed New York City Hall.Whether you’re religiously inclined or not, I’d recommend staying for one of the masses (they have them in English, Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, and Vietnamese), if only to hear the famous organ — and if you’re lucky, an accompanying choir.

The tour was really fun. It takes you to a part of NYC you may not go to (whether you are a local or a tourist) and places you into a piece of history (at the forefront of immigration) and movie making (the Godfather, for example), and the modern rebuild of lower Manhattan. The setting is lovely, the education is great, and while I cannot speak about any of the other guides, Kyle did a wonderful job presenting the material with humor and respect. Afterwards, there are some fantastic restaurants nearby (we chose Jacks Wife Freda) and then some shopping (REI, Adidas, etc). All in all a great afternoon and again, Kyle did a wonderful job and I would go see him on Broadway if ever I heard he was in a show.

This is a beautiful Roman Catholic Church in soho with amazing masses. I Love coming to the 12:45 PM mass at this church. The interior of the church is very beautiful, and they have an amazing choir, and the priest and deacon here are very good and give very good homilies. The mass schedule is also convenient because it is at 12:45 PM, and there are lots of lunch locations nearby.

When I, Salvatore, was born in 1932, it was on the fifth floor of a building just 200 feet to the right of this picture, at 250 Mulberry St. I shared my bed with my oldest sister Elizabeth, my second oldest sister,Vicenza, but we called her Jeannie, and my older, brother Aniello who we all called Al, and they all called me “junior”. At two years old, I contracted double Pneumonia and it created a big hearing problem for me all the rest of my life, but I wouldn’t change any of this, even my hearing. When I reached five years old, I began to go daily with my 3 siblings to this Church, St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral, every morning at 7am, go in at the rear door where the metal 10’ high fence has an opening, hear mass, and then receive Holy Communion. We would then walk up the five flights to have breakfast and then off to school. There were always a couple of disheveled men sleeping on the side of the steps as we went up and then down, going to school, as they needed a place to sleep it off!The man you see pushing that car was exactly what my Grandfather did in 1894 when he came to settle in America, only he knew enough to apply for Citizenship and had it in two years. He went back to Italy to marry my Grandmother. He stayed for a while and when he knew his wife was pregnant, he rushed back to America to make certain that his first child was born in America. That person became my father. ILL BE CONTINUING THIS EVERY WEEK TO TELL OF MY LIFE AND FAMILY!!! Watch for it.June 20, 2020 3pm:My father was naturally spoiled being the first son of an Italian family, and even more so because he was truly the first family member born in American. He could do no wrong and as the family grew and grew, before long he had 5 brothers and three sisters, but still in his parents eyes he was the one and only. As his brothers grew up they were always jealous of him, but inside they loved him as a special person, as did everyone who ever met him. The workers in the 5 businesses he fad going at the same timeSalvatore Anthony Bianco: Born September 19th 1901Growing up for him was a wonder, cause he tried everything and was allowed to do them, as he went to school, the first in his family to do so, he excelled in mathematics, and as his life proceeded, it helped him achieve many accomplishments. First thing he did was leave high school, La Salle academy, after two years to help run his father trucking business! As his brothers grew up and began to handle a horse, he would teach them how to work in the trucking business! Then when ready, buy other horse and wagon, all because he went out using his great personality to find new Customers. He took over the “reins” of the business as his father retired. To be continued!!! On FB 7/08

Although the address is officially on Mulberry Street, the church entrance is on Mott Street. The door on Mulberry Street leads to the sacristy. Its not as well-known as its counterpart on 5th Avenue but the cathedral is noteworthy on its own for being the seat of the archdiocese of New York in the 1800s and the first church in the US dedicated to the Irish saint. Its not remarkable on the outside but really beautiful inside.
