Really enjoying this experience. The show is funny and doesnt take itself too seriously. You will learn a bit about alcohol and of course they serve you three drinks over the course of the show. A fun time for sure.

Had a great time at this show. It was history presented in a fun and funny way. There is a bit of audience participation, and the entire room becomes the stage, so there are no bad seats in the house. Wonderful cast, they seemed to be having a great time during the entire show. And good drinks are included with the price of a ticket!

This is one of the best Off Broadway plays Ive seen. The only one thats more captivating is the brunch musical. If youre debating whether you should go or not, you should go. You wont regret it.

I really enjoyed this show. Had some good laughs and delicious drinks throughout, and learned a lot too.I guess just some heads up stuff. If you go as a party of 2 and sit in the middle (low seats), you will likely be seated with another party at a relatively small table. This was fine since you watch the show the whole time. The one thing that threw me off is that they expected us to share a bowl of popcorn with these people we were randomly sat with, which is just awkward and gross.I would also note that that there is a poll on the right side of the room, so if you are in the right seats as you walk in, you may have a partially blocked view. This is where we sat and we shifted to make it work. They did a decent job of spreading out throughout the room so we never felt completely shafted. The seats at the bar do not seem worth it.

Fun. Smart. Witty. And, you learn something along the way. This is what off-Broadway is all about. If youre looking for a great show at an affordable price, go see The Imbible (and enjoy a drink or two, or three).

Great show, cast was great, and very educational. Its not like a traditional Broadway show at all, so come with an open mind. Since its a show about alcohol, its so appropriate that its set in a bar and its going to be cozy feeling. The three complimentary drinks that serve are very tasty. I highly recommend it for a fun leisure evening.

I honestly do not understand all the 4 or 5 star reviews. The show itself was not terribly interesting. The jokes were almost exclusively terrible dad puns. Two of the actors couldnt sing to save their lives. A lot of the songs were bastardized versions of classic barbershop quartets. It was pretty racially insensitive when discussing some of the history lots of tone deaf costumes for the sake of having a costume. The drinks werent all that great - there was a fly in one of mine - and tasted of nothing but sugar.Perhaps it was just the tourists that enjoyed themselves, but anyone who has ever been to an actual broadway musical would be thoroughly unimpressed.Save yourself the disappointment, go see Avenue Q in the same building instead. Sure youll have to buy your own drinks, but you wont have to gouge your ears out.

I never thought I would say that about a drinking show, but it was actually educational. Singing, learning and drinking, at the same time, what can beat that?Just wish they had more of a cocktail option for somebody who doesnt drink old-fashion or G&T like my friends. Shandy was very good.

This was a fun evening! Really enjoyed the drinks and the music. Although the drinks were small and in my opinion not interesting or strong enough to be called craft cocktails, they were well-constructed. The drinks were a shandy, an old-fashioned, and a gin and tonic. The show takes place in The Green Room bar of New World Stages. Cozy and fun, allowed for audience participation without it getting weird.

The history of alcohol was interesting and the mixed in entertainment bits with excellent singing were amusing if occasionally odd but the two didnt seem to work so well together. There were two very good (small) drinks served plus a third 6 oz drink that was 1/2 beer and 1/2 soda which doesnt really qualify as a drink in my book. The show was OK, maybe even good but not good enough to recommend.

If you like alcohol, learning things, and jokes, then this is one of the best light shows you can go. The lead, Anthony, takes the audience through the history of alcohol, while he and the rest of the cast tell jokes, sing old timey songs with multipoint harmonies and serve drinks - tickets include 3 small drinks. My wife and I had a great time - the show is intimate, conversational and fun. On the other hand, a woman we chatted with afterward thought there was too much learning. I think if you enjoy alcohol and light theater, youll have a great time.

The original imbible is fantastic. The Day Drinking summer version has a miserable version of what they consider brunch. The show lags often, but I do give an enormous amount of credit to the 4 actors/bartenders doing it all. Should not be adverised as a brunch. We sat on 6 cubes on the ground and all that was offered was literally mini muffins, sugar cookies and cubes of cheese and spices from the bloody marys. Really lame and we were starving afterward.

Hamilton isnt unlikely. The fact that Ron Chernow and Lin-Manuel Miranda exist on Earth at the same time made a brilliant hip hop musical about Americas infancy inevitable. Much more unlikely is a barbershop musical about humanitys relationship with alcohol, performed in a tightly-packed bar that was once Tammany Halls underground speakeasy. This funny and informative monologue is punctuated by clever a cappella adaptations of folk songs, and in a couple of cases, dance songs from the Seventies and Eighties, and three cocktails relevant to the narrative. Not only is it clear that the audience is having fun, there is an infection joy among the performers more than 100 performances into this shows run. Writer/host Anthony Caporale ties the piece together with a passionate and convincing thesis about Americans view on drinking post-Prohibition that will change the way I think about how and what I order next time Im at a bar.
