A great 1920s style theatre, the sound quality within the hall is awesome, the lights are bright and colorful, and even the highest seats have good views (depending on who sits in front of you). The seats are tight, but Im not aware of any Broadway theatres that have ample seating space or leg room. Id recommend checking out a show here.

We got first row tickets to see Pretty Woman and it was such a treat. Seats were comfortable and we used a booster seat as stage was high. Nice theater and a great experience. Samantha Barks was amazing, Orfeh too.

I have short legs but still found myself squished in like a sardine. The lack of legroom in this theater makes airplane seats feel spacious. The amount of discomfort experienced seriously hampered enjoyment of the performance.

A grand traditional & intimate theater. Ive seen many shows & performers over the years, and its always magic... if only the seats were a little bit roomier.

The seats are really tight and the view of stage was obstructed for the seats we got. But the show was great! I came with my BFF for her birthday on the opening night of Harry Connick Jr.s a celebration of Cole Porter. It was such a treat for both of us! I like the lighting arrangements especially. Harry is exceptionally talented and he has really good musicians with him, especially the drummer.

Pretty Woman: The Musical, great show patterning the movie. Entertaining with a great score by Bryan Adams. The cast was fantastic. Andy Karl, the lead is a very good actor but doesnt have a strong singing voice. His wife is also in the play.Very nice old theater.

We went to this theater to see the fun new musical Pretty Women . We loved the musical and how it stayed close to the movie screen play. They inserted wonderful songs in just the right places! The theater was just fantastic with beautiful decor and you can see the stage from any seat. We had a wonderful time at this great broadway theater!

A nice place to catch the show! The lighting & acoustics were good, but my only ding was that the seats (up in the balcony where our seats were) are really close to one another. This became uncomfortable quickly, and at 510, 210lbs, Im not all that big. If youre of larger stature, youll be hurting quickly. I recognize that size is limited in this area, but - be aware. The location was convenient and easy to get in/out. Plenty of eating around as well.Id go back again.

My wife and I went to see Pretty Woman here at the Nederland and had a wondrous time. The play was incredible as was the atmosphere of the theater. Things to know in advance, drinks are expensive...even water so be prepared, restrooms are very compact so consider leaving seat a moment before intermission if needed, and do not plan on taking photos during a show. Other than that, the theater is wonderful and best accessible on foot...have taxi drop you wherever is convenient and walk.

At least in some places the seats are very small and close together with no leg room at all. I would be careful when choosing seats as some rows have more leg room and would be a better place for a tall or larger person. But the theatre is small so almost any seat in the house is good for viewing the stage.

It’s a fine theater. (I mean I don’t recommend seeing Pretty Woman which is currently playing there but this review is for the theater.)The front row is right up to the stage - it’s way too close and you have to look up (I know, I know how this sounds complaining about front row seats but just trying to be honest). Some theaters have the front row, then the pit, then the stage, but the pit is under the stage - which I also think is a negative because I like seeing the musicians - but the first row is totally smack up against the stage. We used small cushions that they had to put on the seats so we could see better without hurting our necks the whole time.

It was okay they need better seating for people with back problems. The show was great however I ask for a cushion for the seat the staff members were great however there were two woman behind us started to complain that they could not see. So my husband did not want the cushion. It had to be a woman that complains. They definately need better seating no leg room either.

It was a nice place to see a show. Not sure I dug the acoustics, or the lack thereof. They blasted the show over PA speakers, which were poorly placed. Overall, the production was very high quality. But I think that audiophiles will be a bit annoyed, especially if you are seated to the right or left up front and have mono sound loud right in your face.

Went to see the show on 22nd March 2019 and loved every minute of it. Don’t go thinking of the film for music as it’s not the same however it’s fabulous and punchy, this is a musical and Bryan Adams has done it justice. The script is pretty close to the original and the characters are AMAZING XXXXX

Been going to the Nederlander since Rent, and while I love the theater, it seems to have suffered in recent years. The seats have been redone, and the spaces between them are incredibly narrow. The acoustics are pretty good, but one of the speakers kept crackling during one of the songs like Ive seen at local theater. Otherwise, you cant beat the intimate nature of the theater itself.

Je
Review №62

My nieces took my wife to see Pretty Woman which was very nice. The theatre is an older venue which offers closeup views of the presentations. Seating aisleways are very narrow which presents an issue when patrons arrive late for a performance. The theatre features a bar that offers beer and wine as well as a snack bar and souvenir stand. Restrooms are located upstairs and became very busy during intermission. There is only one disabled persons bathroom, located on the ground floor, which caused a bottleneck to form around the area.

Shows here are always amazing; the bar upstairs serves throughout the show. There is a out-of-sight restroom on the far side (opposite the street) that usually has a shorter line during intermission.Flashing lights means the show is about to start, so make sure you find your seat! Candy selection is lacking so bring your own if thats what youre into.
