The Eugene O’Neill is a beautiful older theater in the Broadway area. Like many of the older theaters there are challenges with the number of bathrooms especially on the mezzanine level and tight seating, which is common. However, it is a great venue to watch a good play.

Went to see Book of Mormon here. I’ve never laughed so much. Such a great show. A small theatre but with such beautiful detailing. We were ushered in and out quickly. I’d really recommend seeing Book of Mormon and was worth every penny. My only small criticism is that the sound system was a little poor in the first half but it was still audible and was fixed for the second half. A bar available. The toilet line was very long. Stunning set. I loved every minute.

Pros:- its a small theater, and the seating is really close to the stage- tickets to Book of Mormon were reasonably priced- staff are extremely kind and helpfulCons:- seating is quite tight, but not uncomfortably closeWe bought tickets tickets to Book of Mormon (buy them at the door if possible, youll get ripped off buying them online). Our ticket holder was running a little late, and one of the outdoor attendants were super helpful and let us save our spot in line until they arrived. We got in and got seated, and one of our party was in the bathroom until just after the play started, and the usher helped them get seated. After the play we thought we left our phone and someone helped us look for it (it was in our bag lol). Very impressed with the service. The seating is a little tight to get into, but once seated, the cushions are actually comfy.

The Book of Mormon was simply fantastic and the Ed, althoughit seats close to 2000?!, feels very intimate! Were early 40-somethings so we grew up with the Trey Parker/Matt Stone humor of Southpark so the tongue in cheek humor wasnt a surprise. We went to TKTS booth at Lincoln center.. BIG WIN! Paid full face for the tix but no junk fees and 179/ea for these seats on a Sat night were totally worth it!! Fantastic time with great laughs.. oh, dont buy a drink before the show or during intermission.. 1 Sprite (SODA) and a bottled water (NOT FIJI) were 14 bucks!!! The guy in line in front of me paid 36 bucks for a double pour of bourbon and a glass of wine!! Ouch!!

However we are very disappointed with the gentleman at the box office. Not only did we find him very unfriendly he was very dishonest with us about the seats. This man should of been upfront with us and told us the seats were not side by side.

The upside of extra tiny seats and overpriced sippy cups for wine and beer is that you get to pretend you are a five-year-old. Clean and well-designed theatre. Excellent acoustics make the narrations and music vibrant and the tiered and angled seating means every seat is a good seat.

Beautiful old theater with a classic charm. Great professional staff in the house and on the street. They organize the crowds well despite some tight walkways in the theater. Drinks at the bar were well made in souvenir adult sippy cups which enables customers to enjoy their beverages during the show. We had two Gin and Tonics a bag of pretzels and a bag of peanuts and with a $4 tip, it came to $51. The drinks and concessions are a bit pricey, but hey it is a New York theatre. The production of Book of Mormon was incredible, every song was as funny or funnier than the previous. Set and costume changes were seamless and impressive. This is a fun, irreverent evening of theater, although perhaps not for the easily offended or very young audience.

My husband and I have been wanting to see this show for while now, but we were sorely disappointed with the experience we had considering the money we paid to see the show.1. When we went to purchase tickets at the box office the cashiers insisted that seats were filled and since it’s the holidays prices would be higher. The best price they could give us were seats where our legs would be squished for the duration of the show for $99/person. We eagerly accepted this deal. Our previous Broadway experiences had been so wonderful we felt it would be worth the money.2. We squished into our seats and as we watched all the guests file in we, along with the individuals sitting next to us, were surprised to see so many available seats in the theater. As I was walking to the bathroom, I overheard other patrons approaching the ushers explaining that they were separated from their group or had purchased the cheaper standing tickets. The usher pointed those individuals to prime seats in the orchestra area. The show began and they continued allowing individuals into the theater which obstructed our view and was greatly distracting from the first couple performances. The row above us and other seats in the theater remained empty for the entire show. We asked to move since we were so squished but the usher insisted we wait. Once intermission started we moved at once and were able to sit comfortably for the rest of the show. I just find it frustrating that when we bought tickets it was implied that those were the only seats available for an affordable price, but people who entered last minute and paid to stand were ushered into prime seats in the Orchestra.3. In addition, my husband went to buy drinks and the prices were outrageous—-$50 for a glass of wine and a beer. Also, there was something wrong with the speakers in the theater. I’m not sure if that was solely in the mezzanine or throughout the entire theater, but it was difficult to understand most of what the performers were singing.Last time we visited NYC we attended The Prom, sitting the the mezzanine, and The Phantom of the Opera, sitting then Orchestra. We experienced sitting in both areas of the theater and regardless of seat position had an amazing experience. This experience left me deeply disappointed and frustrated with the theater scene.

The theater is easy to find from the street. You walk into the building and are immediately in the theatre so its not hard to find our seat.
