LOVE THIS THEATRE! Ive seen 2 shows here, Fun Home & Once On This Island. Both were great shows. I love how roomy the seats were and that there isnt a bad view in the house. Any seat has a great view of the stage, and you can hear clearly from everywhere. Also love how big the lobby is. It really makes a difference when its cold outside to wait at the stage door inside. It gets full fast, but the staff handles it well. Also like how there is usually a step & repeat background with the show logo for anyone to take a picture in front of. This theater provides a truly immersive experience.

Worst excuse for a theatre I’ve ever seen. It looks like junior high school project that went bad. The steps made of plywood are treacherous. Steep and 15” high. They very hard to negotiate. We attended Oklahoma there this past Tuesday. It is a travesty. We left at intermission. I couldn’t have imagined in a nightmare such a bad product of Oklahoma Allen Parsons

Im glad I saw this musical. Ali stole the show. The voices in this musical were perfection. As far as the story, it wasnt my favorite musical on Broadway. If you appreciate live theater, you should go see this. If you are just wanting lots of singing, dancing, effects, set changes, etc, you should probably pass on this one. Also, there are only 8 stalls in the bathroom so try to use the restroom prior to going. BONUS: they feed everyone chili and cornbread at intermission.

We had a great time here watching Oklahoma. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the acoustics at the theater were good, and the amenities were satisfactory. Its nice for once to see a theater with escalators, unlike others where you have to tackle some really mean and narrow stairs. Oh and the chili and cornbread that they served during intermission was a nice treat, another thing you wont see offered at other theaters.

Went to experience the show Once On This Island for the second time... And again, it was Amazing!!!Once again the play/musical talks about the story of Timune, an island girl who falls in love with a young rich aristocrat, but could not be together due to their Status (He was mulatto and rich, she was poor and dark)The musical/play appears similar to the story of the Little Mermaid but with a Carribean twist. The telling of a story about a island, the folks who adhere to the Gods who directed their lives, their loves, as well as their destination.Once On This Island was lively, the colors of the sceneries, the not to mention the sand, that represented the Earth of ASAKA The water, that was Agwes DomainAnd in the play were choices to me made between Love (Ezulie) and Death (Papa Gee) and which Timune was part of that pawn caught up in the choosing of saving the young mans life, of whom she loves, or letting him die so that Papa Gee would have/take their soul ..I enjoyed the music, the dancing, especially being blown away by Alex Newells rendition of Mama will Provide as well as the traditional African dancing that stirred both body and Spirit... Too Amazing!Although the ending brought a little tear, it was also met with renewal as well as joy (The Death of Timune/Transitioning into a Tree) and at the end, repemption was made, and the story was continued by a young child who remembered the story, and will continue to Tell The Story to others. The play/musical ends, and folks go outside and wait for autographs and pictures. I was happy to see the show not once, but twice... ingrained in my mind and in my heart always#WeTellTheStory! #MamaWillProvide! #PartOfTheHumanHeart!

A family tradition continues: Here with my oldest daughter to catch an extraordinary production of Oklahoma before it closes, I was swept away by a flood of theater memories at Circle-in-the-Square dating back to the early 70s, including being drenched by James Earl Jones as he delivered a lonnnnngass monologue at the end of The Iceman Cometh. Too many wonderful evenings to recount here, but none better than George C Scott, Nicole Williamson, Julie Christie in a remarkable Uncle Vanya the likes of which has not been replicated in 46 years. And if you can catch Oklahoma before it closes in a few days, years from now you will be able to say you were there.

The actors did a fine job but if you want an actual broadway caliber show, this is not for you. We left at intermission, which we didn’t know when it would be because there are no scenes since the performers just sit on chairs on the side of the stage when they are not in the scene. No lighting (the show was done with lights on) no orchestra, extremely minimum set design and props, very small company. We were very disappointed with this experience and wished we hadn’t wasted a night seeing this show when we could have seen an actual broadway show.

The venue offers a positive experience overall. Personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. Sightlines are not a problem. Occasionally, echoing occurs which could be addressed better by sound tech. Easy access via the E or 1 train. Escalator service was working which is helpful to all, specifically those physically challenged. Unfortunately, stairs are the only available choice to use for the restrooms. I noticed exceptionally long lines for women.WK

Review of Oklahoma: Just saw the revised version of, Oklahoma! and it was a big disappointment. There is so little staging that it feels like a high-school theater production --- almost none at all. While there are some good moments due to the talent of the actors, it was just a weird show and is not advised at all for kids. It seemed like 1/10 left during intermission and I had thought to do so as well. But having chosen to stay, talent aside, the production is not worth seeing when there are other and better for the same or similar cost. If they offered a money-back guarantee, I would accept. Its also in a basement theater and the place has zero character. For those who do chose to attend dispite these concerns, any seat is about the same view given that its shaped in a U, meaning that you will face other audience members. As others have noted, the seats are not the best and do get uncomfortable. Definitely not a true, Broadway experience imho.

The theater puts on spellbinding performances and is a more intimate setting than most on Broadway. It was a delightful experience. The seating was such as though that no matter where you were seated, you had a clear view of the show. It gave that feel that you were right there amongst the actors and actresses. I liked the idea of the sand and water in the center of the platform/stage. The theater has ample space for legs, etc. and the acoustics/sound effects meshed nicely together.

I rarely ever leave feedback for plays. To clarify, this feedback is about OKLAHOMA and not the theater school. We had a little free time and decided to attend Oklahoma on 10/9/19, and I would have traded our fantastic seats for rear mezzanine seats at any other show currently on or off Broadway. To describe this as the Roger and Hammersteins Oklahoma is to fail to understand the social messages of the original. This wasnt an update, it was a rewrite, and in doing so, it simply needed a new name. While I understand and can visualize the social discourse on gender, social status, and income which they sought to bring focus to, it was largely a miss. It was incongruous, unwieldy, long, and seemed poorly choreographed. Perhaps this was an off day for the cast, perhaps the interpretation is to modern for my understanding, but what I do know is, no one walked out singing or celebrating. In so much as we loved to kill a mockingbird and book of mormon for their social commentaries and music, this presentation left us feeling a bit offput. We hope that other viewers find this review helpful, as, if you were looking for the traditional Oklahoma of highschool musical fame, you will be disheartened by this dark and sociopolitical interpretation. If you are looking for a deep introspective play about societal inequality, then you will love this! In fact, if we had known how dark and brooding this play was, we may have chosen a different night and had a better time. Also, the intermission has the option of chili and cornbread.
