Love is a beautiful thing and Marjorie truly loves what she does. The show starts at 3:30pm and goes for 2 hours. If you want seats go early as there are only about 50 inside but people are always stacked up in the hallway. You never know what will happen but there will always be great jazz, spoken word, wonderful people, and a great time.

Marjories Parlor is a NYC experience you shouldnt miss. Doors open at 3pm, so make sure you arrive 10 minutes before that to ensure you get a good spot to listen and look at the amazing musicians that will stage the living room. It has become a tourist spot, but believe me it is still worth it!

Read about all the famous people and jazz greats who have lived in the Triple Nickel in Sugar Hill (Harlem).Every Sunday at 3PM, without fail, Marjorie Eliot holds a free jazz concert in her own home located at 555 Edgecombe Avenue. The hat is passed and everyone contributes. It is a moving experience and a little insider secret.

I’ve been here twice and will be back again! The atmosphere is amazing ! The Jazz is exceptional and I feel like I am being treated to a part of real Harlem. The line of people that come are from all parts of the world. We all want to hear great Jazz and Marjorie Eliot’s is the place to be.

The music here is great, and Marjorie and her son are even more incredible! I always come here when I have an excuse to. They also often do performances of Marjorie’s short plays while musicians continue performing, great experience and a real opportunity to be transported out of the bustle of NYC life for a while.So all in all, very comfy and inviting feel, though getting in can be a bit complicated if you’re late (you have to wait in the lobby until someone is leaving the building to get inside) so I suggest showing up on time. That being said, I’ve been late every time and get in just fine (all things are possible, with patience)

Very cool event. Showed up about an hour early (which is not necessary) and got great seats. Great music and performances, would recommend to New Yorkers as well as visitors!!
