I stumbled across the little gem saloon while exploring the area on foot and happen to notice a sign advertising there lunch buffet. I enjoyed the food, plus its and opportunity to try multiple dishes for only $14.00, which is low compared the all other places I ate at while in NOLA. If youre in the area, give em a try.

The service was great. Waitress nice. But the food was a salty tastless mess. Had the blackened fish with greens. Both too salty. The bad part was the Crawfish mac and cheese. It was kinda blah. And why were the chicken livers soaked in strawberries? And the biscuits were just a mess. They should only serve it with gravy. The food is just kinda horrible. But the service is nice.

Came for Mothers Day Blues Brunch. They actually flooded that night/morning but worked quickly to open only 15 minutes after the original start of the show. Little Freddie King was awesome, he took pics and signed autographs during his break. The food was pretty good, not amazing but good. the grits were a little hard for my liking. Bottomless mimosas were great.

Live music, great service, nice saloon, good food. We met an old friend here for dinner. They have a full bar, I tried two different local beers that were on tap. The music was very enjoyable; not loud, relaxing, and tasteful. No dancing, nothing wild. While we enjoyed the music, we had dinner; I had gumbo and truffle fries. We started with a cheese plate. Nice service.

Recently took my sons to the Little Gem to catch fine food and even finer Kermit Ruffins. We could not have had a better evening. The food is really top notch, and the wait staff is phenomenal! Everyone made it a point to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thanks to everyone at the Gem who made ours a special night. We will definitely make a return trip.

Server was very friendly. Drinks took a while but they were very busy. My daughter and I had the buffalo tenders with the sauce on the side, the tenders were burnt so we werent a fan of those, but the French fries were SO GOOD! We were there during the day but it seemed like a great place to hang out and have drinks while listening to music later on. The atmosphere was very nice.

This is a great spot to see a more intimate and quality show in New Orleans. I have seen great shows in both their upstairs and downstairs rooms. The one thing I will let people know is that there is most likely always a cover that’s normally $10-25 or more and the drinks and food are pretty pricey. Nice spot and quality food, music, service, ambience, and drinks, quite a gem!

These 5 stars are for the Jamison Ross Trio playing all week. The service is fine and the food is above descent. BUT this week you can see Jamison Ross’ tribute to Nina Simone and some songs from his upcoming album and he is a beautiful musician. I feel like am a better, kinder and cooler person bc I heard him tonight. Well worth the trip, meal and cover. I can’t wait to pay 3x the $ to hear him in NYC where I’m from. Check him out all week.

Great service from one of the waitress . However received undercooked chicken for the person I was with and myself. Asked for it to be corrected and it wasn’t. The manager only gave me ten off for two meals that were under cooked. I also didn’t receive my food that they took back, an explanation, an apology or different food. Worse experience ever. Wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The rudest employees ever. I was taking photos for a college graduate near by. I entered the facility and asked an employee may I use the restroom and was told yes. I asked a second employee who was standing with a group of other employees where the restroom was located and was pointed in the direction. Once coming out of the restroom, I was asked how I could I be helped. I stated that I was just using the restroom. I was told that I was supposed to be a paying customer to use the restroom and someone else commented that they weren’t even opened. All these people were standing there when the first two employees allowed me to use the restroom. I expressed that the employees let me in. The girl screamed from the other side of the restaurant, “yeah, that was our mistake, yeah, ok, bye!” Mind you, she is screaming, talking to me with her back towards me, and extremely sarcastic. I wouldn’t have even minded purchasing something... I will never go back for anything now.

Bryan was our bartender and he was as sweet as can be! Thank you Adam Lee for all your help and your beautiful energy. Great place with excellent service. We stopped in here because it was our first trip to NOLA, our feet were hurting and it stsrted to rain and we wanted a place to sit down and eat. We found ourselves in here for the Buffet which was $13.99 per person. The food was good, the fried chicken was so bomb and we were able to meet the young cook. The buffet was on the small side and had salad, baked ziti, macaroni and cheese, Gumbo but was disappointed in that part of the buffet because there was no more chicken and sausage in the gumbo. Justin was our server to assist us with the drinks and anything else we needed. Since it was a buffet it was seat and serve yourself. Justin was awesome, we wanted to get some pictures of the stage where the band plays in the evening and he went out of his way to not only let us take pictures but as well, turned the stage lights on and turned the music up so we could create videos as if we were performing. It was a great welcoming experience to the city. I wish we could have gone back that evening to see the performances but we had other plans set.

We spent Easter Sunday at The Little Gem for brunch and music by Little Freddie King. The service was excellent! The food was good, but extremely small portions and very over priced. If you come here, come for the music, not the food and you won’t be disappointed. I don’t mind paying well for food, but we all left hungry. Otherwise, it was clean and a nice venue!

Indeed a little gem and coincidentally the only restaurant, bar or saloon Ive found since leaving San Francisco over five years ago that makes a *real* Irish Coffee, the sort of minimalist...yet iconic...Irish Coffee as originally perfected by the Buena Vista Cafe. The food by the way...simply...kicks...ass. Tasty gumbo and a straightforward margarita on the rocks with a generous helping of salt on the rim makes a visit here very worth it.

The music was fun, the food was OK, but I was charged for tickets to see the show even though I had already purchased tickets on Ticketfly and showed the tickets before being seated. For two people, that was a $20 overcharge. When I noticed it after dinner, I called and was told that it would be corrected before submission to the credit card company. That didn’t happen. My credit card was charged twice for the show. The person I spoke to did ask if I lived in New Orleans, so, if I’d been a local resident, he may have corrected it. My next trip to New Orleans will not include the Little Gem.
