Had an amazing time, my daughter had a blast. We will be back for sure. Thanks Poppy for taking great care of my little girl on the trail.
Not much to see. It is good if you want to go on regular workout trails.
Great hiking trail! There are a few routes to take depending on how difficult you want your hike to be!
This is a pretty cool trail to explore and hike. Youll notice the horses immediately when you enter the park. The hike is mostly under the sun but the ocean climate makes it less exhausting. The paths are clear and pretty easy to walk through. Dogs are allowed on leash, and would suggest going earlier to avoid the ground getting too hot for them.
Very nice area for hike with beautiful views.
This place is absolutely gorgeous! I would not call it an easy hike by any means but its worth the work. You finish this hike with beautiful images in ur mind, feeling accomplished, and having enjoyed a good bit of the greater Los Angeles area. Love!
Its a wonderful place
Free parking, clean, beautiful scenery.
The Zuma canyon trail was very nice before the fire. Now not so much.
A hidden gem.***RememberYou will notice that this Trailhead is located within a residential neighborhood. It is easy to forget this, especially after taking in some of the scenery. So please, be/stay mindful of where you are; and be respectful - especially if you have the urge to wander about.***Zuma Canyon Trailhead is the beginning to ascension. And the best part is that a range of skill levels can enjoy that feeling.
I had a great hike. Some of the signs were burnt in the last fire but the trails are clearly marked
I love this area so much. If you’re feeling up to driving up PCH and are near Zuma, this is a pretty easy hike (depending on which route you take). There is an abundance of parking and it’s easy to find, you just follow the road until it ends. There are bathrooms (port-a-potties and hand washing stations) which is great if you are a little too hydrated and need to go. The path is very dusty because they have horseback riders on the path and they’ve pretty much destroyed any hard dirt. The positive here is it’s really soft and not hard on your knees or ankles. Definitely recommend!
An Official Hiking Review:This trail offers a beautiful view and ample parking. The trailhead is located in a residential area, so make sure to be respectful of the surrounding residents. Fabulous trail and would recommend.
Great place! I went hiking there and was friendly greeted by some lovely people. The view was fantastic too i loved being able to see the ocean from the trail.
My friend Pam brought me and my two dogs
Very populated...
I enjoyed the views and vistas of the Santa Monica Mountains. I hiked the trail on the 4th of July with my relative. We had an enjoyable time on the leisurely hike. It wasnt crowded. I would like to go back some day and hike up a little higher to see the ocean vistas!
Went during the midst of the super bloom. Gorgeous buy quite overgrown and some maintenance to be done after mudslides from the winter.
This portion of the Santa Monica NRA is presently closed due to the Woosley fire and subsequent flooding. No re-opening data is known
Easy parking, not crowded, great for a light walk/hike with my kids.
Beautiful in a way only the California coastal brush can be! Awesome views from the highest point, but you have to work to get there. Totally worth it!
The trail is closed due to forest fire. No entry and car park is also closed off.
Great spot for a hike with friends, family, or just by yourself. Trails offer excellent views of the Pacific Coast and other areas around.
IIts definitely a great hiking spot. The trailhead is a large dirt parking lot at the north end of Bonsall Drive. So I hiked this trail with some friends round a year ago . This is a great trail for beginning hikers. Not crowded. Not too hard We went on the shorter loop hike starting on Zuma Canyon Trail, up Canyon View Trail and back down the Ocean Trail. There is a bit of an uphill as you zigzag up the ridge, but the payoff in terms of the view is well worth it. Also its better if you go up the Canyon trail first, and come down the Pacific Ocean on your hike down for the best of both worlds. You should grab a map and pay attention on the signs. It can be a little confusing on your first time. Enjoy.****
You can see the ocean while hiking, yes, but the canyon per se is not that impressive. The loop around Canyon view trail and Ocean view trail is a good workout.
It was a nice view and everything but it was very steep and stuff and i got tired quickly
This is a very beautiful hike very quiet and Serene challenging as well.
Two good traila here
Good parking, multiple trail options
Great short hike!
Went yesterday one of the top 5 hikes I did so far
Poorly labeled trails
Beautiful views.
Just a little walk
Wow
