Excellent Florida wetlands walking trails. Approximately 8 miles of trails with another 14 miles under development. The park also has the first disc golf course in Polk County. Restrooms available at the trailhead. Alligators are seen along the trails. Large group of Wood Stokes. The entrance to 7 wetlands park is thru Carter Road Park( has a new name). Two primary trails. Some boardwalks. Easy walking. Bright sun and water is needed.

This wetland preserve, while open, is under development by the City of Lakeland. As the name implies, the preserve contains 7 wetlands, 2 of which are open to the public. While I dont find the views of the 2 open hiking trails as picturesque as other parks in Lakeland, such as Circle B Bar Reserve, it is great to see Lakeland preserving the natural splendor that really showcases some of Floridas natural features. There is not much tree cover along the lengthy trails so be prepared to be exposed under the Florida sun during your time at the park and pack some sunscreen. No pets are allowed so leave fido at home. There are no paper trail maps for the park so I would suggest snapping a picture of the trail map at the entrance prior to making your way into the sprawling preserve. The trails are well marked but may prove difficult to navigate for those who lack good wayfinding skills.
