Beautiful park, but the showers need a serious powerwash and sanitizing. The family bathroom sink in the RV campsites needs to get fixed. They host ranger led hikes, which I didnt get to go on but sounded cool.Unlike wekiwa, the path to the restrooms are nice and clear, and they have quarter washer and dryer on site if you plan to stay for a while.

Colt Creek State Park was very pretty. The camp sites had gravel in each site and were clean and spread out. We had an RV but our friend had a tent next to us. There was a 10 mile hike that my boyfriend really enjoyed. We both bicycled on pavement and he bicycled on a dirt trail. Very pretty area. A lake nearby. We saw a fawn, two vultures and he saw an alligator. He was on the trail and the alligator was in the pond. They looked at each other but thats all. A few couples were there. We brought firewood and made fires. There is a picnic table in each site. We brought food that we shared. There was a building with bathrooms and showers.

One of the most beautiful parks/camping grounds that Ive ever been to in my entire life. You kinda forget how beautiful Florida TRULY is when youre born AND raised in the city ! ! This place should have 6 stars . ️️

Colt Creek is an amazing State Park! The Parks facilities are very clean and the campground is excellent. The trails have you walk through the Green Swamp where you will see wildlife from deer, alligators, and bobcats. There are many more species and you will have fun watching for them and the many birds! The wildflowers are amazing and the Park has a great many to photograph or take the time to draw for your journal. There is also great spots to fish. You, and your family, will truly enjoy visiting and seeing a remarkable area of Florida with no noise of a city, and if you stay the night you will see a night sky filled with stars! A true gym of the State.

State purchased this property in 2006 so everything is new. The trails are mostly mowed grass two tracks. It rained 3 days and there was standing water in some of the trails enough I could not ride a mountain bike through. Canoe/kayak rentals were very affordable. Only one bathhouse for the 34 camp sites but still not busy. Most sites are not private (see photos) but fairly large. There is no street lights which made for a great starry sky at night. Carry a flashlight, youll be fine. It seemed like every site had a barking dog on a Saturday but Sunday they settled in. Pretty safe campground for kids. Camp host and staff were very friendly.

Love this spot! Friendly and helpful staff. Knowledgeable Rangers, clean facilities, WIDE multi use trails for a sense of safety with kids and animals. Just did my first overnight solo backpacking trip at the Tired Tree primitive site on the Eastern portion. Beautiful place, woke up to some dense fog that made the scene look black and white, I was in an Ansel Adams photograph!

Spacious separation of sites. Clean and flat level concrete sites. 2 dump stations. Beautiful area. They have a nice small lake, with enclosed screened picnic area. Also has bike and walking trails, equestrian area. One of the best RV parks in the state. Private RV parks in Florida are too squeezed together.

Has the opportunity to tent camp at this park for two nights. There is a tent only section that is very well maintained. The park overall was great. It is about a 2 mile paved drive from the entrance to the park to the campsite. Facilities were very clean, park has a decent amount of trails and a small lake for fishing.

This park was Amazing for lack of words. It is pristine...The real Florida! We got there on a Tuesday afternoon and we were greeted by the nicest ranger...feeling spontaneous we asked if there were any available spots to camp(we occasionally carry around with our gear if were driving 45 min+ from home) We felt so lucky ... the Entire tent area was open so we got first choice in our spot (closest to the bathroom of course..lol) spot #13. We loved it..it was so clean and quite (I felt bad blowing up our air mattress at 5pm..lol) after we checked out our spot we headed to the big creek for some kayaking and light fishing till about sundown...we sat by the fire and as the sun started to go down we noticed at least 20+ little bunnies in the patch by our fire pit. We were delighted.. Had a great night and the Morning was even better. We saw Deer around 6am on the way to the launch...We went kayaking & light fishing and took a 6 mile hike. Checkout time was 1pm which we found great. Highly recommended...we wish we had more time there.

It’s no wonder this park was hard to get reservations at, it’s your own little slice of heaven! The sites are huge enough room for our 35 foot camper and our big truck easy. Then you have a space off to the side extra for chairs campfire and table that is huge as well. The whole park is very well maintained! The bathroom/showers are spotless and work great! There are beautiful trails everywhere. We saw gators otters and a few bald eagles that liked to sit in the trees right behind our spot in the morning. This is by far the best park in Florida. But plan ahead I think the secret is out !

The park looks neat and orderly. It looks like it got a fresh haircut recently. There are advanced works in progress on further improvements. However, I am taking away one star for the map design. On that piece of paper you made out lots of valuable information to make visitors lives easier. You need to use your brains even if youre on the State payroll.

OVERALL:This campsite is brand new and VERY nice. The bathrooms have showers and are very clean. Unlike many other state and federal parks, rather than just not providing any way to sanitize or dry your hands, theyve got soap at the sinks and even electric hand dryers! I was quite impressed. The camp host was very nice and even delivered the firewood we purchased.THE CAMPSITE:Brand new. They provide a handicap site! Having been handicapped once in my life before, I thought this was a very nice touch. Each campsite is far enough away from the other that youre not sleeping tent wall to tent wall. Each site has a nice gravel pad to set your tent up on. I cannot say for all sites, but at least the handicap site has water and power.WHAT I LOVED:They provide a washing machine and hot showers!WHAT I DIDNT LIKE:This is pretty hard to get away from, but you sure could hear the road at night. Loud and clear.

Very nice secluded park not to far from Orlando. Be prepared to pack in water, as I did not find any viable sources to filter from. Lots of wildlife around out here. Once I hit the trails I did not see another person the entire trip (3 days) until I came out to a main road. The primitive campsites were well kept, and actually had trash receptacles on site which was kind of odd as it may attract nuisance animals to the site. I still hung my food and packed out my trash out of habit, but I guess it helps with people littering. The ticks were horrible on this trip too, so be careful and check yourself at the end of the day. A beautiful hike for sure!
