Ah-Nab-Awen Park is beautiful! It’s right on the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids. It’s peaceful yet eventful. This is a perfect place to walk through on the river trail and a great place to snap a couple pictures if you want a scenic background. This area is constantly becoming more dynamic and useful.
Fun park for photography, longboarding, walking, etc. This is a great places to meet up with friends or enjoy on your own!
This is such a peaceful and clean park, its a great place to stroll through and get a good view of the city and the grand river. The park is also host to many great events
It is a relaxing walk. Great place for foreworls.
Its nice but over ran with homeless begging for money
Love this park. It offers great views of the city and river and the museum is really cool too. Also great pokemon hunting area. They have cleaned the area up in the past couple years! You dont have to worry so much about being stabbed!
Great place to take your family to just get outside and walk around but still be in the city. I always end up near the fountain with my kids!
They have public restrooms, walking paths, grass areas for picnics, while being along side the grand River! Plus a few bridges not to mention a bit of a walk and you can visit the fish ladder! This park hosts many family fun events, although the bigger the event the few rift raft can come out as well though not likely. Still very great place Ive been bringing my kids there for twenty years and counting! Enjoy this place, its meant to be.
Its a nice normal city park. Clean and relaxing. A great spot to just hang out in the grass and have a picnic or read a nice book. Its on a hill so its not great for yoga and stuff but its a great place for frisbee or other outdoor activities. And its right on the river which is beautiful.
Couldnt have picked a better place! Great rooms for relaxing and sleeping. This Devine accommodation is fully loaded. Pool, spa, eats! All top notch! And smack dab in the center of a lively beautiful city. You dollar will get more than its value. So enjoy.
Beautiful park with nice views of the riverfront.
Beautiful view of grand rapids architecture
This is a nice area. It is always well kept. I wish the Ford Museum could allow additional parking on their lot for downtown events. They could allow it after museum hours. Put a guard on duty. Considering that it is the tax payers that keep the museum open.
Nice place to go for a walk
A great place to watch the 4th July fireworks. Can get very busy, so makes sense to go early to find a space on the grass. Live music and carnival type stands make it a fun visit. If you are going for a particular event, check for road closures as parking nearby may not be available, so be prepared to walk from downtown
This is a great place for exploring. Its very close to the boardwalk down by the river. Take a girl on a date and go walk the boardwalk, its a great walk and very scenic and interesting. Great opportunity to have fun and get to know each other. Even if the boardwalk gate is closed, its easy enough to hop over.
Beautiful spot. Great view of the city and right by the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum fountain. Also connected to the boardwalk. If you are walking through Grand Rapids I would recommend checking this spot out! There is a public restroom close by as well and a pedestrian bridge which is also fun.
Relaxing downtown park by the Grand River and Gerald Ford museum. Very relaxing. Look forward to the Spring and summer.
A great place to chill on a summer day or evening. Also a great place to honor the 1st Nation Peoe that lived here hundreds of years ago. The history of this park is pretty cool as it honors and respects the native people who occupied this land before us.
Interesting river park, good views of the city. Be aware, many homeless sleep here all day / night. Be safe.
When ever I go to the park, it reminds me of how great people are in Grand Rapids, especially, the people that have adopted me into thier families, and let me know the history of how much we are a part of the growth. Stopping the Violence for a better Future for our Communities, is how we work. Thanks for your continued support, and stay tuned for more more information.
Great view of the Grand River and several iconic buildings in downtown Grand Rapids. Close to the fish ladder just north, and several museums just south. Right between the river and the Gerald R. Ford Museum, walkways across the river in to the heart of downtown. Great spot to get a view of the fireworks on the 4th of July(if you get there early enough), and there have been multiple concerts and other events that take place there.
Great park on the river. The Amway July 4th fireworks and festival is a great event. I highly recommend staking out a spot with a blanket and chairs by noon for a prime viewing location.
Such a pretty park along the river! You can see of downtown, enjoy art, festivals, and graffiti. Historical as well!
Has fun events sometimes. Pretty clean
Beautiful area.
Nice pretty park
Very relaxing place. Great place to fly a kite or sit and watch someone else do it. Beautiful views right on the river.
Nice clean park by the river
Fun hang out spot in Grand Rapids. Look for swing dancing on the occasional Tuesday evening.
Cool park got some nice photos with the gf
Very nice an beautiful view and easy walk
I Love this because it is in front of a beautiful museum and Swing also happens here every other Tuesday as well.
Very peaceful to walk through and enjoy the fountain, river and scenic view of the city.
Very nice view. Its cold in March and usually windy.
Great peaceful walk by the Grand River with soft sounds of the rapids and a large grassy area for my French bulldog.
Just great clean environment
A gathering place for rallies and fireworks. Its right on the Grand River. From here you can walk a few miles on the Riverwalk if you like. Its just across the bridge from downtown.
I enjoy the atmosphere down there so peaceful especially around the Ford Museum.
Check out the history of the indigenous americas that called this shore on the great O-wash-ta-nong river ( meaning far away water ) home. It was only later that we reshaped the river, making it much narrower and practical for industry and renamed it the Grand River.
They have a beautiful open field in a hill that sits right next to the Grand River. Great for picnics. The side walk through it is part of my morning run. But its a little on the small side for me.
The parknis awesome place to relax fish picnic etc... all around chill place.
I had a great time fishing there. I met some new friends and caught a lot of different fish!
Always a great time visiting. Have done many a fireworks celebration there.
A nice park for picnics and such. Right on the grand river which is nice. No play equipment for the kids that at Ive seen nor a lot of any picnic tables, of any. They generally have a lot of art prize pieces during art prize and its right by the Ford museum.
Awesome forth of July display... Nice wide open area
Very pretty on a sunny day. Calm atmosphere when we were there.
By far my favorite part of Grand RapidsOur downtown is amazing and its so much to do
Beautiful park downtown with excellent views of the Grand River.
Wish people would respect the land but fairly clean.
Small park near GRF museum. Nice walkways in the spring and summer. Avoid the restrooms; homelessness is prevalent in this area.
Great place to hangout in the evening when bridges and downtown are all lit-up!
Super great place for a stroll and very pretty, well maintained
Many grass, flower heaps, and water beams.5/7 perfect score.
One of my favorite places to sit and enjoy the river.
Really nice public space. A very underappreciated President, Mr. Ford.
Nice place to visit. Parking not available but you can park at president museum.
Perfect place to stop and reflect or take some pictures...
Beautiful
Always a memorable timebest grass in grand rapids mi west of the river
Easy to get to its in front of the Gerald R.Ford President Musuem
Perfect park to go to. Green grass in spring and summer its so perfect to go with family
I frequent this park often. Have attended movies in the park here with friends a couple years ago, I run through the park almost daily. It is very clean and well kept - often a site of multiple art prize exhibits during that time of year. Has great views of the city and stretches out along the river.
River what else... stinky river but still. there a lot water... nature is a beautiful thing until you make it angry of course...lol
Alittle crowded especially at night it be a great spot for cat fishes but to many drunks that interrupt
This is a great place to get out of town and go relax.
Had fun there
Easy way to get from downtown to my home.Shortens my walk.
Nice stroll through this park the other weekend.
Love the Native name. It is nice piece of the city.
When the hood not going crazy its a nice place
Its a nice park. Seen a lot of firework shows there. Been to a bunch of celebration on the grands, city fest, hot air balloon show, etc...
Nice Downtown park
Wide open green space.
Love this place!!
History is right under your feet. This park is a site of ancient first nation peoples burial grounds. The Hopewell peoples, as well as the three flames all made their homes here at Ah-nab-Awen. Please respect the property and the people who used to live here. Enjoy the location events that go on here. Remember the past while enjoying the present and keep it clean for those in the future.
Great place for Niantic games!
If you have little kids, I cant think of a better outdoor space in GR for them to run around and play. My kids love running down the hill in front of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential museum, climbing on the button sculpture, and playing on the fountain in front of the museum. Great for picnics, fun during city events...I cant recommend more!
Walked through on my commute. Tranquil place to unwind.
Twas a chilly evening in the latter portion of February. The wind swept along the banks of the mighty Grand River almost to accentuate the formidable waterways nigh infinite and majestic prowess. The angular facade of the Gerald R. Ford Museum really pulls the landscape together. At this moment, the lawn in front cradles the great Grand Rivers abundance of water from heavy rains in the region. At most times, this area provides relaxing comfort during celebrations, summertime films, fireworks and the like. At this time it is more akin to a massive, cold and horrible swimming pool of Ill repute. 10/10 Would visit big swimming pool wet or dry again.
Site seeing is fun to walk through this park along the river
So nice picture I got there.
Great park always something fun going on
Nice park. Surprisingly quiet thanks to the museum nearby blocking expressway noise. Nice paths great views of the city.
