A fun, quick walk with great views of Golden and interesting geology. Fairly steep hills, so not good for strollers, but perfectly fine for children. Dont expect to spend more than 45 minutes here.
Short trail that packs a punch! Super-accessible and nice displays of dinosaur footprints, ferns, and beautiful Golden views.
Super nice walk, super hard to find the trail head.
Mmm yas
This is a very interesting place with palm fronds, triceratops tracks, and other fossils exposed from 65 million years ago. Many locals may have driven by for years without checking them out. Its worth a visit.
Beautiful day and a beautiful place
Wow! Cant believe how accessible this site is. Park in Lot A, theres a sign on the side closest to route 6 pointing toward the trailhead
So awesome!
Really fun little trail that you can take and explore some fossils and a bit of history about Golden. Worth it if you are in the area and want to do something for 30 minutes.
The surroundings are lovely because its the mountains, but its not the greatest little walk (its a walk not a hike) because of the traffic noise and golf course. of course, the dinosaur prints are very cool. enjoy!
Fun, shirt and informative.
Loved this place and how unexpected it is to find a trail right off the highway. Wish they could better clarify the parking around here though. Looks like the only parking is the commuter lot that you have to pay $1/hr for, otherwise not sure where we were supposed to go. Only took us 40 mins going leisurely but had paid for 2 hrs.
It was a fun time...... And educational! Not what I was expecting. Hikers and bikers were super nice
A beautiful and scenic walk, very convenient to Golden and the Colorado School of Mines. Neat fossils and other geology available and the trail is relatively short and accessible for a variety of abilities. Parking can be a bit tough, however, especially on weekdays when the students are on campus.
Cool place to take kids if they like fossils
Even with directions it was hard to figure out where to park... once that was resolved - what a cool trail!! The attention to detail of archaeologists to see a fossilized rain drop - who knew!!! Totally blew my mind - well worth the visit!!
Very cool to see the fossils along the trail, but it was a very short trail.
If youre in the area, its a good good quick little exploration trail for kids. I wouldnt recommend making a special trip for it.
Nice trail close to downtown, Golden, CO. You can see several dinosaur fossils during the trail. The trail is not that long and with spending time to see the fossils, one could still do the trail within half an hour or so.
Very cool!
Very light hiking, more like walking. Really cool formations and gorgeous views
Short little trail with lots to see, dino prints, leaf impressions, old digs, and a good vote of table mountain and golden fossil Trace golf course. Parking is limited
Interesting fossils. Educational. Bring your children.
The hike was okay but the trails were starting to get overgrown. There is a serious lack of parking and signage to get to the trailhead. We ended up parking I. Lot JJ (it was the weekend) and then hiked the access road around the golf course.
Beautiful golf course with lots of History
Very informative
Look are the distance past.
Tgis was not a trailhead
Hard to find
