Highly recommend spending a day in Golden and walking the Clear Creek trail! Just a minute walk from mainstreet, there’s walking paths on both sides of the river which is nice. You’ll find many, many puppies in the park as well as elderly couples and families. Overall, everyone is in a good mood and very friendly. I recommend stopping by one of the restaurants in downtown, Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza is a hot spot!

We stayed at the RV park thats right along this park. We loved this park.Theres a long path/trail that goes along the creek and is a great place to take a walk. Unfortunately, access to the creek was closed when we were there. Im guessing this was related to Covid-19?The creek is really pretty and I love that this is right in downtown Golden. Definitely check it out if youre there.

Came to stay for a few hours... just passing through... ended up staying for 3 days! Its going to be hard to leave this lovely town in Golden... its stunning

The perfect way to spend a day on a Colorado river! There are many entry points, so you can choose the length of your trip. People from the ages of 8 on up were tuning and paddle boarding while we were there. The walking path along the river is new and very well maintained. There are also well placed rocks, benches, and an amphitheater for you to sit while you watch others tube. There is a sign stating that there is a strictly enforced no alcohol policy and we only saw one group with beers towards sunset.This would be a great activity for any group from college friends to a family. Everyone was being safe and respectful of the space.

It was very fun but the river was low and it was easy to hit bottom. We will definitely return!

Yes!! Its so much fun.. I want to go back all the time. the feeling of being far out of town when youre only 30 minutes away is amazing. The water is so fresh and cold. Just buy your own tubes its way cheaper and convenient cuz your arm forever. But you can rent them theyre all over

This white water park is in the heart of downtown Golden. Although access is somewhat curtailed for tubbing the creek due to the Coronavirus, I still love walking the trail 2x / week with my friends.

Signs everywhere saying masks required OUTSIDE in parking lot and park entrance. Quarantine the at risk, let me live my f’in life.So your farmers market is open to support your local business and spread the virus, but the free water recreation is closed, where people wouldn’t be transferring products and bacteria via hand (merch and money and food at farmers) the hypocrisy is insane! You can’t pick and choose your quarantine, shut it all down or let me kayak godamnit!

Great place to go jogging and walking. My daughter loves coming here! I just wish there was a bathroom, but the library has bathrooms (as long as you use the path during library times).

It was great even though the fire dept stopped and told us the river was closed to tubers. And we had double tubes, I looked up online before even going to make sure what we needed and the website even said they were open to the public now. So not sure why we was told to get out. We wasnt causing a disturbance or causing any problems were we were in danger. Overall though I will be going back once allowed and the water warms up. It was definitely cold. Lol but so worth it..

Cleanest river in the area. Great for tubing and cooling off, or going for a stroll.

The day we visited the park there were so many people tubing down the river, my 4yr old loved dipping his toes in and an art festival was going on. It was a perfect way to end our day around Golden!

This is one of my favorites that I have gone to for years. The creek trail runs all along the sides of creek in downtown Golden. Both my dogs live this trail. Lots of social interaction. Dogs need to be on leash though. Dogs can play in water at a lower section near one of the parks (not upper section near rapids). You can also tube and kayak this river. There is a river store in downtown golden where you can buy or rent tube.

A wonderful place to walk, hike, bike. The creek is lovely, nice trees and really well-maintained pathways. One of my favorite places to get in touch with nature and enjoy the peace & quiet!

Amazing fun for all ages. Bring a raft, BBQ grill, or towel to just lay and soak up the sun. No glass is allowed-HUGE $400 fine if caught. Also dogs must be on a leash, other than that pretty laid back social environment. Great shops and restaurants close by. They do have raft rental shops close by and you can even partake in fishing (with a valid license)... Camping is a plus if you deside to stay, and they do have a spot in the pack available for reservations- which includes a metal awning, benches, and a charcoal grill.

I live about 1.5 hours away from this park and took my friend while we were visiting Denver. I really didnt expect much and was a little concerned because there was a huge bike race in town. We went to rent inner tubes for the creek and there was big expo. We actually came across two expos that day (Im assuming because of the bike race). I will be back to this park with a huge umbrella, a blanket and we will picnic our while having fun in the water. The water is cold, but once you in it is great and honestly I felt pretty rejuvenated afterwards.

Clean and well kept. The water right now is REALLY high so the slide and things closer to the water (certain walkways) are closed. It is a nice place to take a walk close to the water and close to downtown Golden. I went on a walk and then joined some people for dinner a couple of blocks down.

There is nothing like this park, and the whole city of Golden for that matter. Smack dab in the middle of everything Colorado has to offer, this kayak park and the surrounding area stands uniquely alone. History, hiking, camping, breweries, every kind of food you can imagine, hot rods the first Saturday of the month in the summer and fall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre just a few miles away. If you cant find something in Golden that makes you truly happy, youre already dead. My first 5 star review and youd better believe I aint whistling Dixie Bubba.

If you own a tube, its free. Rentals cant be that much, but Im not sure. Anyway, its a very fun time going out on clear creek in a tube. There is definitely all types there. Some school of mining students were monitoring flow, ppl catching sun, and of course lazy river folks. A good day trip.

Actually, Id never go in the water. The run off from the street goes right in there. Funny story,. Three girls from the school of mines jump off a rock into the water, full makeup, new bikini. I had just watched a dog have diarrhea in the water upstream of the girls. Yikes. Ive seen too much. But people really seem to enjoy the rafting. Nice picnic park too, but really no alcohol, we are a Puritan nation. Who wants to have a BBQ without alcohol. And cops are rude.

We dont kayak but we walk the creek a few times each summer. We love to just hang out and play in the shallow water with our kids. Water is raging right now (summer 2019) so not many shallow areas at the moment

I was only visiting family when I had the privilege to visit this beautiful spot right right through this beautiful little town. I dont have much to say except I wish I could visit here every single day of my life but I live in Las Vegas. Please take my word and visit this gorgeous spot if you have the chance. Its a great spot for the family to play in water or get a little more serious and grab a kayake.

Its beauty, the path that runs alongside the creek offers beautiful and varied scenery. First responders and kayakers making use of the Whitewater.Its free to all including tubers paddleboard users and pretty much whatever flotation device you can concoct.Every year they have watercraft made from cardboard competing in a race. It may be an event put on by the students of the School of mines.

What a lovely place to spend a summer afternoon! You can rent tubes to use on Clear Creek or find a quiet place along the water to read or watch the goings on--tubes, kayaks, paddle boards. And youre close enough to downtown Golden to walk in for a cupcake ( Yay Gold Mine Cupcakes!) or ice cream.

This place used to be amazing. But now its overcrowded and dangerous. If you take your kids here, dont let them in the water.

Great place to escape and enjoy mother nature. Listen to the river, walk your dogs or go do river sports . Something for everonyone ,pack a lunch order pizza, or dine out for lunch or dinner. Morning ,day or night it is beatiful.

Shady green trees and very green grass, a very nice playground and the Golden history park is a short walk away. There are portapotties and plenty of parking.

This is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. All you need is a cheap tube, or even just an air mattress. Its about a mile or so trek to the top. As you walk along the creek you can choose from several different put-ins. Each is usually before a certain set of rapids. There is a lot of free parking on 10th, just west of Washington St. Next to the library or in the recreation center parking lot. I would highly recommend wearing tennis shoes that you dont mind getting wet. There are unpaved sections of the trail, and it makes it easier to walk on the creek bed.

My daughter and I nearly drown in Clear Creek today. Thanks to the people that were there or we would be dead. Lack of safty rules and a whole host of other things probably would have prevented this from happening. The doctor at the hospital today told me a women died in Clear Creek just a couple days ago. I will fight to make this place more safe so that lives can be saved in the near future.

Great spot but the unusually high presence of rangers makes it a little harder to relax and have fun. Some cranky locals too but overall a beautiful place.

Great place to spend a hot summer day with the family. Bring you paddling gear or an inner tube. There is fishing... But everyone and there sister fishes here... Good luck.
