I loved this hike!! The trails address very well maintained and with easy to follow signs. There are several different tails to follow with lots of opportunity to see wildlife. There is a lovely brook and some beautiful forest. I absolutely loved the enchanted forest! It opens into grassy fields and beautiful views. The bikers were friendly and all followed the posted rules for riding specific directions for odd and even days of the week. Theis is a good hike, some steep parts, nothing technical. I highly recommend spending a few hours exploring the area.

Went on July 4th, started about 8:30. Trail starting out is sunny, parts are shaded, little creek follows you up the trail. We took Apex to Enchanted Forest and came back around the loop to Apex Trail. Enchanted Forest was beautiful, much cooler with all the trees, path opens up a bit more. Odd days are best for hikers as mountain bikers are limited to one way only. We encountered a lot of mountain bikers as yesterday was an even day, however all were courteous. Saw tons of wildlife, everything was really green with flowers everywhere. Trail imo is more difficult in the beginning as there are lots of rocks to climb over, but still doable. Bring lots of water, no water at all on the trail, only restrooms are in the parking lot (very clean though) Have fun and enjoy our states beauty.

Love the enchanted forest and apex loop. I prefer to go down the apex and go up the enchanted forest. I know up will be slower and I like to have some shade and enjoy the view. We see moss and lot of beautiful greens in the enchanted forest which isnt super common in the foothills. In late May the flowers are gorgeous and colorful.

Solid spot to do sub 7k feet hiking. Trails can be strenuous, open to the sun, little cover, and a lot of ups and downs. Good spot to hike and mountain bike, though mountain bikers can only go certain directions on odd days. Easy to park. Take Apex trail to pick and sledge, over to sluice, and back to Apex for a solid loop.

This is a really nice place for a day hike, even for the kiddos. Its just a hop, skip and jump from Denver and plenty of trails to explore. Theres quite a bit of open space, but also a lot of cover which was nice. We were there on a Friday and it wasnt terribly crowded although a Saturday or Sunday would bring more. There were a fair amount of mountain bikers and a good portion were trail hogs however a few knew the rules of hikers having the right of way. They do have a one way rule for mountain bikers on a few of the trails on odd numbered days which helps. I would definitely like to come back here again and am sure I will.

Pretty great for mountain biking! Theres better hiking nearby without bikes everywhere. Also, Apex trail (theres a lot of other trails in the park) is really rocky and goes right through the gulch so theres little view and it gets cold easily. But the other trails have amazing views of the plains/city and you can get going pretty fast

A spectacular place to hike, bike or run! Apex is one of my favorite places to go. The trail variety is great for all types or mountain bikers from beginner to advanced. Enchanted forest has got to be one of the best trails on the front range. It is also a fantastic spot to stop for a snack no matter the activity you are doing. However there is direction specific days so make sure you check before you head out. Everyone is always friendly and kind. I will definitely continue going to Apex!

This was a beautiful hike, however all you do is try to get out of the way of the bike on the very small path and they dont slow down. Do to this fact me and my family wont be back. The parking was nice, bathroom very clean with water fountain. This is not a trial for small kids unless in a backpack. But if you like to hike and not alone this is the place for you their are a lot of very nice people along the way.

Beautiful trails but not a hiker friendly area. More for bikes. If you decide to hike, the one way trails go up the hills so bikers cannot go down the one ways on odd days. Signs are confusing at the trailhead but the first sign as you get to the first fork are easier to understand.

Crazy beautiful hiking and biking with lots of different shady loops.... Just make sure to keep on your toes.

Great technical front range mountain biking and hiking. I wouldnt recommend hiking up apex trail on even numbered days (ie. July 10, Aug 24, etc.) Due to mountain bikers being able to deccend the rowdy downhill. Hiking should be done on odd days if possible. Probably the closest class 2 hike to Denver you can find.

Great place for a quick hike. Apex trail roughly takes anywhere from 20 mins to 1 hour depending on tempo and endurance. Apex was my first trail I did in Colorado and really enjoyed it, great views for golden and Denver, covered from wind because its located in the valley and very quiet. Enjoy your hike! Dont forget to go see lookout mountain after finishing a trail - its just minutes away!

Sketch. Park is riddled with people who appear to live there and has an unwelcome feel for anyone that is just there to visit or use the playground. A few of the people were yelling and cussing up a storm at the playground. One person invited themselves to our barbecue and started eating our food and the whole time didnt say one word despite the fact that we all stopped and stared in disbelief.
