This is a fabulous stop! There are many, many things to do, places to eat and loveliness to see! You definitely need a week or more!Downtown is a lovely walk, especially for me because it is one of the most dog friendliest places I’ve visited. Most of the eateries and shops also place water bowls for your pets to enjoy.

I grew up in golden. I loved the place. I still like going there but its more like going to any tourist site in Colorado. So theres the additional cost that go along with being a tourist site. Still a great place to go with out of town guests. And its fun to go to during holidays. Parking can be tricky in that if you want a good spot you will need to pay.

Awesome old school Colorado down town. You dont get this type of culture much anymore especially as close to Denver as Golden is. Great place to stroll around with the family and pop into different shops for drinks, ice cream of to grab some last minute adventure gear before heading into the wilderness.

Love Golden!! So good to see restaurants and shops re-opening. Please come visit to support them all. Its been our favorite place to hang out for years. I miss farmers market and live music events... It gets very crowded along the creek on weekends, guess people are just done with staying at home. School of Mines campus is beautiful, so are the side streets - lots of blooming flowers / shrubs this time of year, nice houses, thanks to Golden residents. Library is awesome too, cant wait for it to re-open for normal business.

Downtown Golden Colorado is a beautiful place to walk around. There are a lot of restaurants and other shops. It has an old town feel to it. Theres a river that runs through a section of it with a walking trail. Theres a lot of fun to be had. From there you can head up to 19th street and drive up a winding mountain road and get to the top of lookout mountain.

Great little downtown area to visit. Many very good unique restaurants (not chain stores), small shops, and some very good bike stores. A very good visitor center that can provide you with all kinds of information about the area. There is also a great hiking trail along Clear Creek that you can pick up right in the middle of town and tours of the Coors brewery are just a very short walk away. A great place to visit for a day or more with two very nice hotels right downtown.

Golden reminded me of Temecula California, however, there were more pleasantries here. First off parking was easily available. Granted COVID-19 was a factor. The views were beautiful and the mild western style feel to the main street shopping was refreshing. Enjoyed the shops there which includes the abundantly stocked Rocking Horse Antiques store. Had a beer with chicken enchiladas at the Table Mountain Inn Bar and Cantina. Planning on going back soon.

I love historic downtown Golden. It is at the heart of the City located along the banks of Clear Creek between the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to the West and two ancient mesas to the East. Historic downtown Golden dates back to the early 1850’s when the first settlers came looking for gold. It was a bustling center of commerce for those making the trek into the hills near Central City and Blackhawk. A major landmark is the Coors factory, Which is visible from many locations about town. Downtown Golden also includes three parks – Parfet Park, Lion’s Park and the award-winning Clear Creek Whitewater Park. There are several museums located in historic downtown Golden including the Golden History Museum & Park, Mines Museum, the Foothills Art Center and the American Mountaineering Museum.Visitors can stop at the Golden Visitors Center located in downtown to find information about where to shop, dine and play. No matter if you have an hour, half the day or plan to stay the weekend, historic Downtown Golden is sure to provide an authentic experience steeped in culture and filled with fun!

Stopped in the town of Golden on our way to the Lariat Loop. Nice shops with unique ski-lodge like gifs and furnishings on main street. Loved the statues on every corner. There is plenty of free parking, public restrooms (if really need one) and a very informative visitors center. The visitors center is closed on Sundays but plenty of information outside.
