We went to the Wallace and Ladmo remembered presentation. It was fabulous. Please support this museum. It runs solely on contributions and is so worth keeping the doors open.

We all drive by this place on the Southwest corner of Gilbert Rd and Elliot and we all say to ourselves “we should stop by someday”. Well, the day finally came for me and my family and it was well worth it. There is so much to learn about the town’s history in this museum.

I went to a presentation at night which was excellent, but did not see much of the museum. What I did see was old farm equipment outside.

I really love this place! I am new to AZ and I love the East Valley but I had no idea how amazing Gilbert is! So many displays and information, it was hard to see it all! I had such a good time! I highly recommend some spending some time here!

Great little museum to learn about Gilberts history! Very friendly staff and interesting information. It is a very small museum, but as long as you go expecting a small museum experience it should be great. We bought some prickly pear candy from the gift shop and it was surprisingly delicious. Fun fact was how much Gilbert has grown just since the 1980s. That blew my mind!

What a cute museum! The price is right and youll spend a couple hours reading about and looking at historical aspects of the town of Gilbert. From schools, to business, to farming, this museum gives a great and comprehensive overview of the evolution of the town. The building itself used to be a school and many aspects of the building are still the originals. If you havent been, its worth checking out.

Whenever I visit some city for the first time, I usually try to stop at its historical museum. It always says a lot about the city and its people.Gilbert Historical Museum is located further South on Gilbert Rd, it has several exhibits outside, in the foyer (check out that car!), and of course many artifacts from those times when Gilbert used to be the Hay Shipping Capital of the World (that was actually only a hundred years ago). Exhibits are totally amazing, and they are very-well presented - anything from old-time farming equipment and household pottery to the latest fashion (of the 1920s) dresses and even a wedding dress! The volunteer on duty (I think this ladys name is Susan Huff) was so hospitable and friendly and was happy to answer my questions and show me around, that I decided to make a modest donation to the museum, and also bought a T-shirt at their tiny souvenir shop. The T-shirt is very particular: it has a huge drawing of the water tower , and underneath it just says Gilbert. It doesnt specify what state it is. Just Gilbert. Isnt that cool though?Outside the museum I could see the historic original at a distance - that famous Town of Gilbert Water Tower in Gilbert, Arizona.

Loaded with local historical information as well as other exhibits. They are really doing a lot to make this venue more than just a neighborhood museum. Staff is very knowledgeable and can answer just about every question you come up with.

Nice little museum. Lots of space but not much in the way of displays. I would think for a town like Gilbert theyd have a lot more in the way of artifacts and displays. Interesting story boards, but those could be made smaller to make lots more room for actual items, antiquities and displays. Cmon native Gilbert families, go dig in the attics and barns and donate to that place! It looks a bit barren for a local museum.

The museum is small, but carries a big legacy. While many of the exhibits are general U.S. history several prominent families that helped found and develop Gilbert are detailed. If you are familiar with the area you will recognize several names. It will not take much time to see all the exhibits so a visit to The Gilbert Historical Museum is a great start or end to a tour of Downtown Gilbert. Go see the Water Tower Park, have brunch at one of the amazing eateries and learn about small town America.

This private gallery is free and open to the public. It has a phenomenal collection of over 3000 items of classic western art (oils, bronzes, kachinas, baskets, guns), many illustrative of historical events. A quick walk through will take at least two hours, so plan on returning. There are chairs and sofas that allow a bit if a rest.
