Location is great for beach visit. Older place but well maintained. Comfortable for 4 adults. Can sleep seven in the unit we had. Location is a bit far to walk to restaurants and shopping but, a short drive or Uber.

Great staff, nice view, nice pool and hot tub, you can walk across the road and be at a nice beach, it is an older set of condos but every time I’ve stayed there if something broke the staff arrived right away to fix it. Has laundry facility, a sauna, tennis courts, pool, hot tub, corn hole boards, tons of board games, puzzles, books, pool toys, and a nice lobby where if you need a bathroom break while swimming you can head straight to it. There is parking underneath, in front, and in the back. There are elevators so you can ride your luggage to whichever floor your staying on. My family and I love sitting on the balcony with binoculars and watching the ships as they wait to come into port. I would recommend. Plus we always ask for a suit with one of the round windows because they are great for picture taking.

Its very dated and rather dirty in the rooms. We had cockroaches and when they came to fumigate they were just spraying around the dishes and pots and pans!! Of course I complained, and I feel sorry for the people who dont wash everything before using. Thats -poisoning- and should be reported (but where?) Great location, though.

Location and gulf view are very good. Service at the desk was polite and helpful. The 2 bedroom, 2 bath layout is spacious and user friendly. The appliances work. The covered parking option is nice.However, the wall paint color selection, medium brown & dark brown, does nothing to enhance the beach experience. It is depressing and oppressive. The flooring needs an immediate renovation. It is worn out. The kitchen & baths needed renovating years ago & need it worse now.

Good location (ocean view from all of the rooms and directly across the street from the beach) but definitely an older location and in desperate need of a remodel and better maintenance. Everything works, but it purely the basics and no corner has been left uncut. Over all its not a bad place, but dont expect anything fancy if you plan on staying here. The pictures show room quality and a nice view of the beach at night from our porch.

Very nice, and close to a convenience store and a restaurant, the balconies had very nice views, front and back, one side had the ocean view, and the other side had the city.

Getting rough around the edges! Our room was very rough! Filthy floors, nasty tub, broken down furniture, leaking faucets and everything on its last leg! Most of the kitchen chairs so wobbly that I moved them away from the table so as not to accidently sit in them.Bring your own shampoo, facial tissue, coffee filters, coffee, dishwasher detergent (sandwich baggie with enough for one load), salt, pepper and kitchen sink soap because NONE of that is provided.If you are thinking about staying here Id keep looking.

It was clean and insect free!! The balcony view of the ocean and overlooking the pool was great. The room was large and comfortable, if not the most modern place weve stayed. While it could use some updating, it was a good place to stay and we would reserve a room here again.

The pool is an excellent feature and literally across the street from the beach. Stocked with dishes and towels, on site laundry. But was run down. The elevator was out, the water mp took a while to change, and the exterior definitely needs some paint and patchwork. There were also bugs under the fridge but they may be incidental and not chronic as I only saw them once.

Great place, but it was not in top condition. The showers were fine, but could have been better, and there was no drying rack for the dishwasher. The pool was a little dirty, but there was a hot tub though. Some of the games that you could borrow were in pretty bad condition, for example the bean bag toss bean bags were torn, and some of the other games were broken. Overall though, great place, with a nice view to the ocean. Crossing the busy street to get to the beach is hard, but doable.

The location is great, across from beach and near resturants and stores.The unit we stayed in furniture needed to be updated, the bed frame was broken the mattress were lumpy, the maintenance man tried to correct the mattress problem by bringing another one, but it wasnt much better.carpet had dirty spots, dining room chairs cushions need to be cleaned or replaced, but unit was nicely painted. Need to make sure there are enough supplies available, ran out of toilet paper.The Laundry room clean and washers and dryers very nice.Check-in and check-out quick and staff very friendly and helpful.Over all not a bad place to stay if you can over look these issues. The grand kids enjoyed themselves.

So a lot of bad reviews so I went in there with a critical eye. However everything seems to look okay, there were a few dips in the floor and it could have been freshened up a little bit, however all in all it was really nice to stay there.

We stayed 7/15-7/21/2018. Arrived to find a clean spacious room. We had a 2 bed 2 bathroom which had a nice kitchen with most appliances and dishes to cook and serve a meal. The water was always hot and the room was always cool. Loved having our own washer and dryer The view of the ocean and sea wall was beautiful. We attended a coffee and donut presentation where Sandra one of the managers shared her island wisdom with us. She gave us some great information and managed to hold our short attention with her humor. We used the hot tub and pool which were very clean. We had a really great time and hope to come back soon. We would definitely recommend.

A dated timeshare with a very helpful and friendly staff. Balcony has a great view of the gulf waters especially of the sunrise. Living room couch is a backbreaker as it is way too soft. So they added a board under the cushion and that helps a little. Very informative and funny office manager with a great personality. Two bedroom, two bathroom, decent kitchen. Many excellent restaurants nearby.

Even with Imelda hanging around the entire time we were there, we were still able to enjoy the room and the views.

This place is on the older side, random lights didnt work, a rusted can openedHowever this place has the most stunning view. A literal walk to the beach and close enough to where all the bars and entertainment are. It was a very enjoyable stay for a really special occasion

I ordered 3 hot dogs with toppings on the side. Did NOT get onions that I ordered. Got a 1/4 teaspoon of relish, yes I measured it when I got home. Holiday sauce Not ordered. 1/2 small container of cheese and 1/2 small container of chili. NOT RECOMMENDED TO EAT AT SONIC

This is an adequate hotel for basing a stay in Galveston. I would rate the location as 4.5. The hotel itself is older and not particularly well appointed. It was fairly clean and had everything we needed. Not bad for a place to sleep, eat, and base our out-of-the-hotel experiences, which was what we needed for a long week end in Galveston.

It is in great need of updating. The place we were in was dirty. Gross furniture, and carpet. The bedding was probably 10 yrs old. There was mold around all the ceiling vents. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view is nice, but there is a busy road between the building and the beach. Was not pleasant sitting out there because of the noice.

Friendly staff they take care of you like you live there and the head cleaning lady Cindy is on top of her job keeping these rooms looking like the place place was just built.

These condos are very poorly maintained. The floors were nasty, which made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the condo.

This place is horrible! My family and I stayed there over Christmas. Tried to get another room but were told they were booked. That was a lie. Cockroaches everywhere. No handle on the fridge. The shower and bathtub desperately needed to be replaced. There was a towel to use as a bathmat in the shower and it was wet when I laid it on the floor. I dont know if the shower leaked or what but it was disconcerting.Outlet in the TV cabinet was pulled out of the wall so they put in a outlet on the side of the cabinet. However they didnt hook it up to electricity inside the wall, they strung a cord along the outside of the wall and plugged it into another outlet!One family member is on oxygen and had to be careful where she plugged her portable oxygen bag into because many of the outlets didnt work.Rented 2 units and ours didnt have a washer and dryer but the other unit did. The lid on the washer was broken and came completely off. Washed a few towels and it took well over 2 hours to dry. Dishwasher was old and rusted. Handwashed everything before using. Bought a coffee pot because we didnt want to use the one that was in the room.The beds werent uncomfortable, just very old. The best thing about this place is the view of the water. Would not recommend!

Staff was nice & helpful. Location & our units had beautiful location...facing the Atlantic Ocean just across the patio, windows and the road. But the place feels pretty run down and not being maintained. But our family had good time anyway bcz of our togetherness !!

If your looking for a simpler timewith no one pestering you this is it.Yes it is feeling its age but arent we all. I wood recommend this place for anyone who just wants to get away.

I. Love. This. Place. My family has been coming to this resort for years, and it is only now as an adult that I can truly appreciate how great it is! As a child, I just loved having a place to stay with a pool AND a hot tub, but now I can appreciate the full kitchen, comfortable amenities and beach-front location. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the service is top-notch. A wonderful and affordable spot with a view! I recommend Inverness by the Sea as a long-term investment in a condo or as a short vacation stay!

My family and I stayed at Inverness a couple of weeks ago. We have stayed here almost every year since the early 1990s. We were surprised to find that there is now a beautiful beach across the street from the resort. We were put in one of the recently remodeled rooms on the third floor which had new furniture and flooring. Very nice! The staff here is great. They try to resolve any problems as soon as possible. Sure, some things are older and a little worn looking, but still usable. I think thats one of the things that makes it homey and comfortable. My children grew up going to this resort every year and hopefully now my grandchildren can enjoy it too. Its clean, comfortable, and a great location.

The hotel, room, and staff were all wonderful. We were literally across the street from the beach. We could tell that the hotel was old but everything was updated and very nice. We would highly recommend it.

We love to vacation in Galveston so when we saw a timeshare week for $350 on e-bay we took it. So, for full disclosure, we are owners here. While, as others say, it isnt a 5 star resort, you dont come to Galveston to hang around the hotel room. It fits our needs perfectly, the balcony is huge which is perfect for morning coffee and sunset coffee, the pool is clean, and Angie and her staff are extremely helpful. Id say its like a Holiday Inn room, but with two baths, two bedrooms, and a kitchen. The rooms and furniture are scheduled to be updated soon (hopefully.)

Nice and clean place to stay

The rooms are decent with enough room for 4-5 people. The view is what makes this location a 4 star rating. We were right on the boulevard. I got to wake up and see the sun each day. The rentals offer a full kitchen and had enough to prepare and eat meals. There was a dishwasher and cleaning supplies. There is no washer and dryer in the unit we stayed at, unit 101.

If i could i would give this place no stars! WORST PLACE EVER. My first issue, i didnt know there were hours of operation, it doesnt state in their website NOR in my email confirmation that the front desk closes. I saw the phone hours but nothing that indicated they arent like other hotels where i can check in late, i was just informed the check in time. So my family and i get there and they are closed, so i have to book a room with another place for the night. When i called to speak with someone the next day, the guy informed me they wouldnt reimburse me for the night and they work regular business hours... then theres ROACHES IN THE ROOMS, the bed in the sofa was horrible! I wouldnt even consider it a bed, it was like a 2 inch piece of cardboard with a worn out, stained, foam piece on top. All the dishes were DIRTY! i had to ask for more towels and was informed we arent a regular hotel where we just hand out extra towels, we have to exchange towels the whole place is run down and needs A LOT OF WORK, some simple things can be done to fix it up and make it look decent like clean the walls.... the most disgusting thing was even if youre looking to shower youll end up in a bath from your shower. The drain doesnt work properly and its clogged so we are all standing in our filth from the day... and Im not talking just a little water. It fills immediately and your literally standing in dirty water above the ankle... so shower fast! I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

The accommodations here were ok. Very dated and we found roaches a couple of times in the cabinets. Apparently they are a problem on the island but if so then visitors should at least get a warning to expect to see them when you check in. No such warning given. Also when asked to upgrade us because we were displeased, the upgrade would have been a room right beside ours with the floorplan just flipped, not what I consider an upgrade. I can see how this place would get business, location is great and the pool and hot tub is great, no complaints on them. But just the rooms period they could use some TLC. Great location for going places though. But there were burns and stains on the comforter and they only give you two pillows per bed, two flat pillows at that. The room we stayed in was a two bed two bath with living room and kitchen. The kitchen did have dishes.

Had roaches running all over the 2 rooms we had reserved. I told management and they refused to refund my money or do much to assist me. All of the furnishings were worn out and the bed sheets were thin to say it nicely.... We left asap! Ended up getting a hotel and paying for a place to stay twice...

Horrible. Wish I could post photos. Stayed as an exchange on our timeshare. This place is dirty from floor to ceiling. White towels look dingy. Beds are uncomfortable and sheets dont fit. This kitchen was disgusting so we never cooked in it. Light fixtures didnt work, carpets, walls, & cabinets are filthy, cock roaches inside and out. The furniture is more than worn and dated. Grounds are not maintained and construction in the pool area. Would have left, but we had a no cancellation clause (now we know why). The air conditioner did work well!

This place should be avoided... Weve been here less than a day, and both the condos we have are infested with roaches. Im a Texas native, so I know bugs happen. But when my family pays this much for a RESORT, we expect a little more. This is my second bad experience with RCI. Their properties are all run down. In addition to the pests, the property is really run down. The carpet has been badly patched, the furniture is beyond old, the beds are very uncomfortable, everything is just REALLY old. I feel like RCI needs to refund the points my parents used to get this place, and put us up in another resort.

Needs a little TLC as it is showing its age. Overall, property is landscaped nicely and pool is good. Amenities are OK. As is typical with properties this age, some faucets and drains need work and sticking doorknobs are very frustrating. Employees are very friendly.

Family stayed there for a week and really enjoyed it! They had activities the kids enjoyed, the pool was clean, seawall beach access across the street, rooms were clean, and can tell theyve done some maintenance / upgrades from the last time we visited. Only complaints - smoker/ing in the pool area and no crosswalk immediately in front of condos.

We stay at Inverness By the Sea every year and love it! No, it is not a 5 star property (though Im giving it 5 starts here!), but it is quiet, clean, has a great view, and the staff are amazing. We love that it is not super fancy because we bring our grandchildren. The units have 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, plus a full kitchen and a great view from the balcony. Its all we need for a relaxing, fun-filled week. I actually like the fact that its not a huge property. Has more of a family feel and super laid back. Im told that the units are being remodeled so Im anxious to see the changes on our next visit!

This was by far the worst place I have ever stayed in. To call this a resort is a joke. Basically the slapped on a coat of paint and called it refurbished. The elevators appeared barely operable. The room itself was beyond horrible. The beds were covered in the oldest and worn bedspread that had various holes, stains, and what looked like cigarette burns. We even tried to buy our own bead spreads to give the place a chance. However, then there were a few areas of black stains and what appeared to be vomit. I couldnt even see out of the windows as the look like they hadnt been cleaned in years. The tub/shower had scum and mildew buildup in them still. The kitchen was just as bad with really dated items. The dishwasher they wanted us to use was all rusted out on the inside. The silverware and cookware provided all needed to be re-washed as there was stuck on gunk. I was told by staff that there was nothing they could do about the stains (it was 9pm) and all the rooms would be like that. Needless to say, we leftand never looked back.

We are staying at Inverness By the Sea for our honeymoon, and we got the room for free (my wifes grandparents have a timeshare, and they lent it to us for a week). As such, I do not know how costly the condominiums are. As far as I can tell, the condos are a little dated (the blinds in our living room were broken when we got here, the hot water heater only holds enough hot water for half of one ten minute shower) but still serviceable. The beachside view is as stunning as Galvestons beach could ever be. The customer service has been wonderful, and the atmosphere is very welcoming.The only problems I could foresee one having here is the enormous amount of stairs. There are two (small) elevators up to the top floor (there are 4, including ground floor), and those are spaced far apart. The covered parking area doesnt have an elevator, but it is near enough to one that it isnt terribly inconvenient-- unless youre in a wheelchair. During our first day, my wife stepped into a pair of shorts and (somehow) sprained her foot horribly. As she already had tendinitis in her other foot, she is now wheelchair bound. The Inverness complex isnt terribly accessible to wheelchairs, but it IS passable. If I werent here, this place old be very difficult for her to get around.Still, Id recommend this place for the atmosphere and the accommodations-- but only if youre not alone and in a wheelchair. If you have someone with you who is handicapped in any way, Id recommend calling and talking with an employee about the size of the rooms and the ease of navigating (we had to move furniture for there to be enough room for my wife to wheel around comfortably-- not a big deal, but something you might want to know). Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your stay!
