This was our first family vacation. We stayed Nov 2 and upon arrival (around midnight), we were met with a security guard that was rude upon arrival. We were polite despite the unprofessional attitude. We were told we didnt have a reservation and Im not a secretary so...We were exhausted from the drive. So I told her that I am far from home and I have a reservation number. I was told Even if you have it I dont have keys here, theres nothing I can do.) Her belittling tone was so degrading. I politely asked her if she was having a bad night. Her response was No. Then I told her Mam, can you please talk to me like a person. I am a human being She mouths Oh please turns around while rolling her eyes and kicks the door with the bottom of her foot (the video surveillance they have will show JUST that). My IHG agent heard her during our call and he put me on hold and within minutes I was talking to a manager and I sent him a screenshot of my confirmation etc. She walks back to me with...a key to my room and we go get settled. I did not sleep the first couple of nights because of what happened. I felt just sick. The next morning I went to the front desk to redo our room and I was greeted by Miss NICOLE (wearing her mask). She was AMAZING. I had an issue and had to change rooms a couple of times but we got it right. This resort is getting 5 stars because the rest of the staff was very professional. My room was out of a magazine (I have pics) The amenities were always available. The other guards were always smiling. The beach was within walking distance. Please go here and stay. It was a quiet little peace of heaven. I saw passed that mean guard lady. We had a beautifully decorated two-room villa. And I am going to try my best to get back there and stay hopefully longer. Miss NICOLE was the best. The manager that had me screenshot my info was great as well. Safe and not crowded.

This was our first stay at this property, but not our first time on property. We stayed in the Signature building and enjoyed the fact that every room had a beach / Gulf view. The employees were polite and friendly. The room was set up well and well decorated / equipped. The bed was softer than what were accustomed and was a pleasant change for the week. Very pleasant experience as a whole...Odd things and concerns...- NO ON-SITE RECYCLING. We were initially told to bring it to the main desk in the building and they had a way. When we brought down the bag of items, the person behind the counter was unaware of this opportunity and told us to throw it out with the trash. In 2020, why isnt there an opportunity to recycle on-site? Talked with a gentleman that was emptying the trash containers about recycling and he explained I was the third person in two days with the same question.- The sight lines from the balcony are broken up by thick white metal rails. What about glass for the Signature building to keep the beautiful views intact?- The main living area was lacking of comfortable seating. Every time you would sit down on the sofa it would sound like that person had been eating too many beans.- The water pressure was lacking, in our opinion. Showers were more like a Spring shower than a good rain. Made rinsing off more troublesome.

This was my Wife and my first visit to Texas and to Galveston Island. We were there for a time share seminar so they gave us the Presidential suite which was AWESOME. The rear of the room looked out on the Gulf of Mexico & the front you could see Galveston Bay. We had 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens, also a livingroom with a Fireplace. They had a snack shop on the property & an outdoor pool & many other amenities for children. We would definitely return again, many nice restaurants on the Island & its also a short walk to the beach.

From arrival to departure it was a great experience for grand kids and adults alike. The staff was polite and helpful with no pressure to participate in any offers, only an invitation was extended. The rooms and facilities were very accommodating and comfortable especially the master tub. Our room had some age on it but it was clean, cool and quite with nice space. Beach access was not a problem, do recommend taking car over to lot. Local pool was very enjoyable with friendly quests to visit with.

It took 1 hour and 45 minutes from the time we got to the property to the time we were able to get to our room. Details of this experience is below. Overall I have had a terrible experience at this hotel with no apology from the staff. I would not recommend staying here.We had to wait 30 minutes to be able to speak to someone to check in. Twice I asked to ensure the room was on the first floor as my mom has an injury that makes walking up stairs difficult. They assured us that although the room was on the third floor, the building would have an elevator. After finally checking in, we drove to the building to discover that the elevator was broken. A maintenance man came shortly after and it became very apparent that the elevator was a known issue. I have no idea why they would put us there when we had expressed our need for a first floor unit or at the least a working elevator. After I finally lugged our bags upstairs (note we are staying for a week so there was a lot of stuff!) we went to enter our room to discover that neither of the room keys worked to enter the room. I called the front desk who said that they would move us to a different building. They sent two men to help us move the luggage. While they were kind and helpful, one of the men was not wearing a mask. We had to repack our things into the car and drive to another building. After getting to the room, we discovered that AGAIN neither of the new room keys worked. To top it all off the room they sent us to was used and not cleaned. Finally, they moved us to a third room which we were able to use. This took us an hour and 45 minutes. We had to do all this moving in the rain and move our car in high water as it seems the drainage on the roads here is not good. No one even bothered to apologize for this inconvenience that ruined our plans for the day.In addition to the terrible customer service and check in experience, the hotel has bad reception (which I understand they cannot control) but also incredibly slow wifi. I won’t be able to work here during my stay. The TV remote doesn’t work in our room. There was no security at the front at night as there is supposed to be. I hope the rest of our experience improves during our stay here but I am not impressed.

We stayed in one of their Signature Suites and were very impressed with the suite and amenities. The suite was modernly designed and so spacious. All the Signatures suites have ocean/beach views, access to the infinity edge pool, and direct beach access. We were highly impressed by the property and will for sure come back. It’s only a 15-20 min drive to the popular Seawall Blvd.

We paid for the presidential suite and honestly it was amazing I had a great time. But when it comes to customer service it was very poor. We went into the lounge to order some at 10:40am and didn’t receive our food till 11:52am. Which is understandable but then it became frustrating after we seen people come in after us and get their food first. Not to mention the energy of the workers differed based on your color. When we walked in it was like we didn’t even exist no questions asked no greeting nothing at all. You would think it was closed. Until another person came in and was instantly greeted and acknowledged. We paid a lot of money just to be treated different from any other person there. I really hope they get trained better or even hire a new set of workers there. Other than that everything was great.

We loved our suite. It fit our family of 5 perfectly for a very reasonable price. I was initially discouraged that the beach was across the street from our hotel but we were allowed to drive across and park. With little children, this was great! The kitchen was nicely equipped and we brought our own food for breakfast and lunch. We went out for dinner. It would have been nice to be closer to the restaurants but if we were closer, the beach would probably have been more crowded. We loved how open and clean the beach was!!!

Stayed weekend of Sept. 2020. I stayed in the two bedroom villa I’m not sure about the other reviews regarding cleanliness but this room was immaculate. The check in process was good there was no timeshare sales pitch to me I checked every inch of the room due to Covid and I would definitely stay again. My building had no elevator no problem for me it’s not on the beach side but it’s just a short walk across the street or you could drive and park in the lot for the other Holiday Inn resort that’s in front of the beach. The location is further out pass Jamaica Beach 20 minutes from the main part where Most people hang out on the other side of 61st St. if you’re looking for quiet it’s a Good spot to be I have four stars because the Jacuzzi tub shower water wasn’t draining well in both restrooms

Great villa for families!Pros: great space, good balcony, sufficient kitchen, comfy beds, good location, elevator to our floor...apparently not all of the villas have that.Cons: -Shower in master is more like an RV shower. Tall and skinny. As a 52 person, I had to shower in the other restroom as the water hit me directly in the face and I was not able to move anywhere else to avoid it. -The couch is like sitting on a park bench. After a long day on the beach, we wanted to pile on the couch and watch a movie. I was shocked at how hard it was. We quickly made other plans.

First I want to say, I believe everyone should wear a mask, especially when working with multiple customers at once. The lady at the front desk did not wear a mask at checking in or checking out. I was at the resort to check in on time at 4 pm. I booked my room 4 days before. There was no reason for me to have to wait 30 minutes before being checked in and able to go to my room. Also, every minute counts, for as much as the signature villa was you not only make check in time at 4 but check out at 10 am. Lastly, house keepers please use the door bell, out last day there the housekeeper just knocked and let her self in, it was 9:30 calm down check out is at 10 am. Please, be prepared for your guests if we have the courtesy to be on time so should you.

The picture shows an oceanside building. This is only once small part of the resort and apparently reserved for other guests or some sort of special classification. The pictures are very deceiving. It is a time share resort with many apartment style buildings across the street a ways from the beach. Our room smelled like cigarettes. It appeared clean but the smell made us wonder. It was a big suite with lots of space. But i feel it was overpriced.

Its very difficult to figure out from the photos, but this is two completely different properties managed under the same name. The nicer pictures are of SeaSideSignature and they run 2-3x the Seaside rooms. We enjoyed our stay here. Easy access to the beach. Putt-putt golf was nice, though we played midday and it was too hot and humid, plan for morning or evening. Pool was really small for such a large property. Resort wasn’t full so pool was okay. If the resort were full the pool would not be a safe place to be with the current pandemic. I also saw no sanitation of chairs and tables at the pool area. I feel like they need to be sanitized after people leave or at least provide a way for guests to sanitize themselves before using. Room was clean and had everything we needed, including coffee, laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher pods, and salt/pepper. The second kitchen in the second King bed bedroom was a surprise and we actually used both kitchens and refrigerators.

When we checked plus over the phone I confirmed the ability to use both pool areas. On Sunday morning we were asked to leave the pool overlooking the gulf. Basically, a KAREN, told us we are not allowed in that property at all. I asked why, she stated because that is the way it is. Ridiculous!!! Mind you there was no one at the pool at all. Secondly, the outlets in the master and suite with the one bedroom usb and outlets did not work. Therefore our phones and I watch never would charge. Plus the most critical to me was the malfunction of the outlet since I do sleep with a cpap machine. Two nights in a row my machine shut down since the outlet malfunctioned. And the third issue was the main door lock, the battery died and we stuck waiting for 20 minutes until someone showed up after 9pm to let us in while being bitten up by the mosquitoes.

I’m a female and traveled with 3 small kids. Went to check in and was told I had to make a reservation to check in due to COVID, told the woman that my reservation did not specify this. She said I should’ve read the signs posted in the complex. That was my first negative interaction. Got to our room, sticker over the door, walked in and looked around. There is a second door that leads into the unit to the right of the main door that was not locked. The balcony door was also not locked, so I checked under beds and such just to make sure we were alone. That was my second negative to staying here. Could not get anyone after 0700 at the front desk to let them know we were leaving out, so we just left the key in the room and shut the lights off/closed doors. You have to take your trash to the dumpster at the bottom of the building when leaving, per Directions given by complex. We will stay at a Holiday Inn again, just not a condo share resort.

For the price, you expect better service and quality. We stayed at the ambassador and president suites, the rooms have a lot of space. Still, they are outdated, it was very disappointing because we pay more for an ocean view and the truth is that it is a Forest. Very far away it is, another thing is that we selected this property because we thought that it was close to the beach, but you have to take your car. There are no facilities near to the beach, only if you are staying at the Signature (so you cannot even wash your feet after going to the beach). The other very disappointing part is that the hotel has only one beautiful pool (the one on the pictures). It is for the exclusive to the people in the Signature building; the other building shares a small, disgusting pool. Be careful. Most of the buildings dont have an elevator.

Short story, we like the amenities and the room is ok, but we wont be staying there again. We stayed at this place because we could get a 3-bedroom (we have six kids), and the on-site amenities. The rooms were fine, we had a problem with the ceiling leaking briefly and the shower not working that great, but it was otherwise just fine. The amenities are fun, and the kids had fun mini-golfing and playing shuffleboard and horseshoes. We had an issue checking in, and apparently the front clerks cant use the IHG confirmation number (this is owned by IHG) to look up your confirmation! The kitchen isnt very well stocked, the location isnt great to Galveston, but we like the beach here. Both times weve stayed, our key hasnt worked the first time and we have to drive back to the front office to get a new key.If it was just that, Id give it a 3 or 4. But this is a place that sells timeshares. We dont have one, but have stayed there twice. Every time you try to get a parking pass at check-in, you have to talk to the timeshare people. They try to sell you on listening to a timeshare presentation before they will give you a parking pass. On our second visit, we decided to do the presentation for tickets to Moody Gardens. We told them we had bad experiences in the past with timeshare presentations going over time, etc., but she SWORE this one would stick to the 90 minutes. We went and started the conversation saying our 6 kids were waiting for us, and we promised them wed be gone only 90 minutes. After the presenter wasted over 30 minutes on small talk and we kept reminding her we had only 90 minutes, we were still there after 2.5 hours, telling them No over and over again, with them completely not listening. Then they blamed us for the time going over, saying we must have been talking too much. Finally, we angrily insisted on leaving even if we didnt get the gift and they let us go with our tickets to Moody Gardens. So between the issues with check-in, leaking ceiling, sales pitch starting at check-in, and complete disrespect for our time or discussion during their presentation, we are NEVER going back here.

Only complaint is that being ihg member our stay preference is never considered by staff upon check in. The balconies are great with views unless put on a lower floor the pool and noise is literally your view with no privacy during stay. This seems to always be a high risk when staying in signature villas which could be very upsetting to pay and stay for a week given rooms with balconies on lower floor over pool or the pool literally steps from balcony just jump rail and your in the pool. Upon our check in instead of asking if we was interested in a timeshare the staff insisted on trying to schedule a time for us to attend a seminar during our vacation. After a long drive all you want to do is get checked in promptly and go to room not deal with turning down a timeshare during check in and hopefully have your stay preference addressed and acknowledged by staff 1st before a requesting we spend our payed time in a timeshare seminar

The guest room has a small sitting area and attached bath. The kitchen is appointed with everything you might need including a wine fridge.

0 stars. Me and my family had planned on going to the Jamaica Beach, we live an hr. away mind you my sister was 6months pregnant plus my 3 yr old nephew. So we find a spot at the beach(right behind the hotel). My sister and nephew needed to go to the bath really bad. Once again pregnant and a little one. Me, my sister and nephew walked up to the front of the hotel and asked them really nicely if they could just use their bathroom (I would wait outside the hotel for them). We ALL had our MASK SO! the lady who answered the door told us if we were not staying at the hotel, we were denied access. They have the nerve to denied a PREGNANT WOMAN AND LITTLE BOY SERVICE very rude and definitely not great people.

Paid too much for a so-called resort. Don’t waste your money unless you’ wanna be far away from the crowd. They have lots of empty land around the property that could be turned into pools or other amenities. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Was disappointed this time at the Galveston Seaside Resort. The swimming pool regularly had dead bugs, dried grass, trash, and used bandaids floating in the pool. I reported to management and cleaned out one day but not a daily maintenance routine of morning and afternoon to ensure clean water throughout the day. Also had other guests who were not swimming come to the pool area with a portable speaker blasting profane lyrics in late afternoon/early evening one day. When requested by other parents to turn the music down and play appropriate music with little ones around, the guy was mocking but kept playing the music. Parents started packing up kids and stuff to avoid conflict and music that was profane and disrespectful to women. Plus, the grill and grocery area on site was out of many things and staff continued to order product but wasnt receiving it. Staff was great at the grill but had to continuously apologize to guests for being out of things like French fries, chicken strips, etc. There appear to be several management issues going on, including relocating the movie theater to a lobby area. ??? Really! No one is going to watch a movie in a sunny room with indoor light hitting the flatscreen and people walking through all the time. The previous set-up was much more conducive and featured comfy chairs, wall screen, and lights out. This used to be one of my childrens favorite activities to do (besides putt putt) at the resort. Now, a big thumbs down. BTW, sales team took over the room instead of utilizing space in the sales building. ??? Plus, I was informed on site that the sales team rarely use the room. So change it back and make guests happy again. Owners are paying a lot of money for very little at this resort. Villas continue to be nice.

This is a tale of two resorts. The setting, the facility, and the rooms are beautiful, but if you are the sort to look beyond whats on the surface, the place lacks lustre. At issue are the little things, so if you dont bring high expectations, read no further, book a room, and enjoy. But if you are particular, you might want to read on - and book a different resort. This was our second stay. The first was in late November 2019. The list of “little things” was long, but we liked the place so much we decided to give it a second try post-COVID. Overall, the second time was better, but management didn’t seem to take our input seriously in 2019; we won’t bother with a third visit.Issues: leaks under the bathroom sink (Nov-19 and Jun-20); clumps of hair in the master bath and MBR (Nov-19); cork puller that didn’t work; dirty tray for ice bucket etc.; mattress pad for the sofa-sleeper did not fit and was in shreds and the sofa-sleeper was the most uncomfortable ever; towel for bathroom floor in one bathroom but not the other; glass shower door incorrectly so that it did not close (mess… wish there’d been a floor towel). Most impressively, the stainless steel sink basin in the master bath detached and fell into the cabinet (Nov-19). Also, some guest (a wedding party perhaps?) was allowed to set up a tent at the end of the footbridge to the beach and play loud music past 1:30 AM. Between that and the sofa sleeper, it was not a restful get-a-way. The kitchen stools make an awful racket when moved (even carefully), so if you do decide to try this place, you might demand a unit on the top floor so you dont have to listen to the upstairs guests move the chairs at all hours. Wonderfully, the kitchen comes equipped with an amazing espresso machine and packages ground coffee (including espresso roast) that are quite good, but I can’t understand the need to do origami with Mr. Coffee basket filters when 200 cone filters cost $3.99 at Kroger. Finally, the coup de grâce was the hot tub. When it works, it’s about the best one anywhere. Seriously. But the three-month CIVID shutdown was apparently not long enough for them to make sure the jets were working. So, nice view, but just hot water – very disappointing. But that is representative of the overall lack of detail. As stated, “a great property but management needs to up its game.”

Overall the rooms were very clean and definitely enjoyed the double shower head however the amenities listed on the website are not all included with the stay. The arcade room was available but you had to pay for everything that was part of the package. What made me irritated was that we weren’t able to go to the second pool or the gym because we weren’t on that side of the resort. Not sure why they include it or list it in the amenities if not everyone can access it. I thought my stay at the presidential suites would include all of this but it didn’t.

We booked online and requested an early check in but instructed to call the day of to confirm. Called the day of check in and was given an early check in of 1:30, so we planned our day around that time. Part of our group got there right at 1:30 and had to wait until around 3:30 before check in. Once the rest of our party got there with groceries about 3:00 I went to the desk to find out when we could expect check in only to be told check in is at 4:00 and no guarantees on early check in. It would have been better to just tell me there is not an early check in than to miss lead paying customers and have them plan around a time you cannot accommodate. Once we got in the beautiful units (409 A and B) we had to clean the dirty dining table and kitchen counters, unit B did not have a shower curtain so we called to get on. The person that brought it up then tried to hand it to us to install. We requested he come in to install and he discovered it did not fit and had to go get one that did. We were told check out was at ten the next morning but the cleaning crew had been at our unites and left there supplies by our door sometime between 9:00 and 9:30. Needless to say we felt rushed to leave so we left before check out time. We will not be staying here again.

I will start off with the good things about this property. It is surrounded by beautiful and well-kept and maintained land. Next door to the property are pastures with cows, I loved that part. It didnt smell, the cows are adorable and they do not disrupt your stay whatsoever. The grounds were clean. When we arrived the staff was friendly and when we entered our unit (2 BR. lock-off) we were surprised by how dated the rooms were. They were reasonably clean and you can see there is a lot of wear and tear on these units. The tiles are cracked, paint chipped, and the furniture is really dirty. Nothing a steam cleaner couldnt fix but, it isnt maintained. The kitchen is described to be fully-equipped but while they have a lot of items, need to be revamped. We couldnt cut an onion because the knives were so dull. The master bedroom suite has a king-sized bed but, it is an ancient spring mattress. It is so incredibly uncomfortable and I got up to to call down to the front desk to see if there was anything that could be done as Id be spending a week in that bed. The purpose of a vacation is to relax away from home not go home sore. I picked up the phone and the line was DEAD. The phones are merely there for decoration it seems. I called down using my cell phone and I asked them about the phones. I said in case of an emergency they should have operating phones. Not everyone has cell phones or service. The employee told me that they changed phone systems and they have yet to get them running. They said that until enough people throw a stink, theyll get to them. Since nothing could be done, I moved on and brought up the bed. They said they cannot help me. I hung up with no issues solved. The next day, the air conditioning stopped working and the maintenance guy was very friendly and very efficient and fixed it promptly. On the second last day of our stay, the fire alarm went off loudly waking us at 4 in the morning. It stopped just as abruptly. I couldnt use the phone to call so I had to scramble to find their number on my cell phone. I finally got through and the person who answered was only giving one word answers and grunting at questions. I was trying to find out what was going on or if the building was on fire and the person must have been half asleep. They hung up on me and I honestly thought they were getting robbed and the perp was the one who picked up the phone. It was unsettling, I shut all the lights off and tried to sleep. It ruined our plans for the next day since we were supposed to drive a lot and leave early but, not knowing what was going on, we didnt go. Also, if you see the pictures on the website that show the infinity pool for the Seaside Resort, do not be fooled. This is NOT the pool on the property and when we arrived, we were disappointed to find out it was on their other property that we had no access to. To have the pictures listed under this property is misleading. Another thing to note, the smaller units that have been updated are in the buildings that do not have elevators. So youd have to go up 3 flights of stairs with luggage and all. Also, housekeeping didnt come at all during our week stay and we were told that in order to have clean towels, we either wash them ourselves or pay a $9 fee. I am not a fan of writing negative reviews and that is why I listed all the positives along with the negative but, the only way for any improvement is for honesty and making the business and other travelers aware. As owners, we were disappointed but enjoyed our stay overall.

Specifically wanted ON THE BEACH. Reservation staff doesnt know this property. Most buildings are 4 stories and no elevators. Wasnt told that even though they asked 3 times if we had stayed there before and we said no we hadnt. Refrigerator had to be repaired 2 times and still didnt work right. Asked to be moved to a lower floor. Front desk staff was very accomodating and thats when we found out there was a building with an elevator.

First, we were cheated out of the room that we initially booked on the beach front side of the property. So, with no other option we took a room towards the back of the property. This is an absolute joke of anything referred to as a resort... There is a tiny pool that was probably a quarter mile drive from our building and the beach was another several hundred yards from there. There is NO amenities at this mosquito and roach infested resort, I dont even understand what they are trying to sell, except to stay in the middle of a field 15 miles from Galveston? The customer service is beyond terrible, especially a girl named Lila? This place is expensive and a very mediocre property, we consider it the biggest waste of money that we have ever spent on a vacation.

Be sure that you are booking in the signature collection to receive all the benefits, like workout room, heated pool and view of gulf. The villas are located across the street, no where near the beach. Walking distance for adults, not for kids. Putt putt golf was good for kids, but we were expected a heated pool, not so much. The website was misleading, well for me anyways, it was not clear what rooms included the amenities. I think the stay would be awesome, but you must room in the signature collection series.
