Just gorgeous place! Late fall is the best time to visit to enjoy the beautiful colors around you. Spring and summer are best in that order.

This is a nice stop along the River path. Its good to get a reminder of our history here in Fredericksburg; specifically how white people took this land from native people such as the Manahoac and the Powhatan. Its a interesting little piece of the rivers history.

The Indian Punch Bowl itself was very underwhelming - almost not worth the extra 30 steps to get there from the main path. The area around it is fine and leads to the water. Leads right to Ficklen island which is where most people probably end up. Cool little island with waterways throughout.

A great stop on a beautiful trail right on the river. Going through the brush allows you to relax and chill at the river side in a nice location. :)

I have been going here since I was a kid. Now I bring my family here great little walking area. And a little further up the road best swimming area. As teenagers we would call the areas sliding Rick and tunnel rock!

The Indian Punch Bowl is... An oddity. Its a circular hollow in a rock. There is no real explanation of what it was for, who made it, how they made it, or why. Even the sign says What do you think it was for?... as if they are hoping YOU might know.It is absolutely NOT worth visiting on its own. But... Its on the Rappahannock Heritage Trail, west of the Old Mill Park. Its worth p stopping for a look, if you happen to be in the area anyway. The river is just north of it, and its a beautiful place to walk, run, or bike.

You can stand on the banks of the Rappahannock River and imagine youre looking at the same river in the same place as George Washington. Adventuring on the rocks below here is a blast. Visit the river. Its worth it.

This place is really breathtaking in the fall. The path is great for walking, and any other cardio exercise a person wishes to do. Also, the grass cut always and kept at a decent height. Unfortunately, my only complaint is ppl not cleaning up after their dog. Nice place to have a picnic, but you must be careful where you walk. Besides that, I find the path nice... oh yeah, sometimes, you will notice dog dropping on the path as well.

Beautiful place to go. Thought its not far from a road, its still very tranquil. My daughters (5 & 3) had fun in the creek and my husband and I got great photography shots for our business there.

This thing is very cool. I wonder what it was used for.... its right by the river in Downtown Fredericksburg. It overlooks some water, I think it could have been a bird bath. There isnt much to look at, just a big piece of stone from like way back that has a semi circle carved into the base. Human sacrifice? Sweet berry juice container? Bird Bath? Its anyones guess, and thats what makes this spot so alluring. Nice spot on the river and worth a check out if youre on the walk/bike trail that overlooks it.

Surely gives you something to ponder. I believe they ground grain up in there to make flour. What do you think?

Nice during the day but I would not suggest being there after dark. Found needles and other drug paraphernalia on the rocks.

The punch bowl itself is a rather lackluster monument. There really isnt much information on the plaque and the bowl is literally just a bowl shaped indentation in a rock. The surrounding area is beautiful though. There are some great views of the river nearby.
