Well so far just getting into park is a bust. We reserved tickets for 10am, and it is 1030 and we havent even made it in yet to park. Not sure why it is so slow other than the booth for parking?More to come once we get inside.parking More? Well only 2 booths and three lanes coming in from 2 directions. Now once inside, everything flowed very well, never seemed.crowded. all the animals were out. Very impressed, the habitats were clean and marked well. Easy to get around. Cant wait to come back.

A decent sized zoo. This zoo had a very detailed amphibian / reptile exhibit. There were more birds and amphibians than mammals. The penguins were adorable. There werent many food options currently but you could bring your own food. You have to wear a mask to walk inside but the place isnt too crowded and is manageable. They handled the Covid epidemic quite well. A good 3-4 hour visit overall and quite enjoyable.

They need filtered fountains for kids to run through... its Texas heat.... just sayin. But still the only zoo to go to in DFW area due to the accessibility to see the animals. You can feed the giraffes for 6$ a head of lettuce (kinda pricey, but worth it if you cut them in half). Feed the giraffes first and enjoy the Savannah, feed the birds in the the bird cage ($1?), see the gorillas, jump on the bouncy bridge on the other side of the Zoo, and check out the sea otters which did laps back and forth along the glass when we went. Sometimes its just a be there at the right moment and you will get amazing views of the animals. If its too hot, the animals could be in the shade. If its a little cooler, they will be out. Still the only Zoo to visit in the DFW. Great Zoo. Cant wait for it to get warmer again to go.

Great zoo! Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Feel like you are in the wild yourself. Great variety of animals and close up experiences, through glass or up close and personal. Takes about 2-3 hours at minimum depending how long you view animals. Most will ask, Dallas or Fort Worth? If I had to pick one, I would pick Fort Worth. Both are great but Fort Worth has more to offer and little better experience. My only downside is the expected one, the price for food and drinks... $4 plus tax for a soda drink or bottled water. And of course food, including candy is jacked up.*Pics of some animals included in post*

Fort Worth to do is often rated in the top five zoos of the nation. There is a reason why. When the zoo is expanding and making habitats better for all of the animals its creating a welcome space to view the animals. Are there educational sessions all day long for the public as well as classes that are taught by zookeepers. Even in the heat of the day in Texas there is shade to walk in. From Africa to Texas habitats the viewing of the animals is amazing. Zookeepers are readily handy to to educate as well as give little bits of information about the animals and their habitats. Even with construction going on the zoo is a phenomenal place. You can bring in your own food and drink as well as purchase things there. The zoo is well laid out and you never at what seems like a lull between the exhibits.

The hardest part of this experience is the wait and traffic just to get into this zoo. If you arrive early before your reservation time and try to go in, you will be asked to come back few minutes before your allotted time as it happened to us. I liked how there were plenty of spots to picnic at. If you’re a germaphobe and a social distance freak, this probably isn’t the place for you on the weekend as it’s packed and the exhibits are a tad bit small.

Fort Worth Zoo is located in Fort Worth Area, Texas, USA near Fort Worth International Airport. This zoo was opened for public in 1909 and No.5 ranked in North America and also the oldest one. Total area is 64 acres. There are huge collections of animals, birds, reptiles and mammals. Lots of exhibitions also organize inside the located area. Friendly Staffs, Nice and Peaceful area, Reasonable Tickets Price for age groups, selections of cafeteria, Gift Shop. Better spend time with kids, friends and families.

Granted we got our membership when we just moved here about one month pre-pandemic I can’t help but think how poorly overall the zoo has done with covid precautions. There are people at the gate who tell people they must wear masks and that’s where it ends. Theres hordes of human garbage walking through the park doing whatever they want to do without masks calling people who wear them, per the orders of their very Governor, sheep. So not only is the zoo unimpressive and most of the exhibits lack animals, you’re actually being harassed by the trash that live around here while you attempt to mind your business and entertain your one year old. Super great. Will never frequent this zoo again. Ever.

I feel like some of the most recent reviews are unfair because we go at least twice a week in the mornings (we have a membership), and a huge chunk of the zoo is open with almost all of the animals out and about. The only animals that are sleeping when we go are the big cats and hyenas. This is the best zoo, and we live really close, so were thankful we get to go quite often. I suggest anyone that wants to experience the zoo without big crowds go during the weekdays right when they open. There are even times we dont see anyone at an exhibit for a couple minutes, so we have that whole time to chill and enjoy. Staff is friendly. I always see people cleaning. The amphibian and reptile center is open indoors. Petting zoo is open, and you have to clean your hands and they have a # limit of people to enter. Its freaking hot because its Texas during the summer, but it is what it is. They have a splash pad area, if you want to go stay cool (you have to pay). Like any attraction area, prices are a little inflated for food and some experiences, but if you plan to visit once, its worth it. Such a great zoo, and its definitely our top thing to do with our kid.

I have fond memories of going to this zoo with my son a few years ago. I was visiting DFW this weekend and brought my daughter this time around. The park vendors are not out, there are no shows, and the COVID-19 rules that they have posted on signs around the park are not being enforced. There were crowds of people at the exhibits and although the zoo has marked the spots where people should stand with yellow tape on the floor, people are not using them, and employees are not enforcing it. The signs posted around the park say face masks and 6 ft distancing are requirements, but it seems like they are just there for legal purposes. The animal exhibits are interesting and it was good to have my daughter experience seeing the animals. I just wish the safety measures were better enforced, since children are not required to wear face masks and people were sneezing and coughing without face masks.

Dont remember last time I attended this zoo, but decided to go after hearing it was rated the #1 Zoo in America. It has and is in the process of expanding its already natural large animal pens, and has everything from exotics to every day farm animals. Many things make this zoo worth the trip in, but notably, its themed animal viewing areas including animals specific to Texas, African Safari, swamp, walk through Aviaries, etc. I do have some Cons: Zoo hours currently are restricted to just 7 hours daily and have to purchased online, which is fine, but the web site was down due to traffic hits so actually had to drive to the zoo to get them. Tix for adults are $16 + $5 parking. All shows, and many of their specialty areas were not operating. Train ride was limited to a certain number people due to social distancing measures. 20oz water was outrageously expensive. I certainly want to give this another try, but probably will wait until their attractions are fully operational. Experience despite the cons was good.

We went there today, for the 1st time having heard it was a great zoo. The overall landscape and habitat design are quite refreshing, and serves a good purpose of education. HOWEVER, there were tons of people in the zoo and it’s unbelievable. Was there any capacity regulation? Because there were so many, it was difficult to maintain 6-feet distance in many exhibit areas, let alone quite a fraction of people did not wear masks!!!! This really lowered the viewer experience. Hope the zoo will do better in the times of pandemic.

Great last minute outing to the Fort Worth Zoo on Christmas day. Admission was still half price as it was Wednesday. $8 for adults, $6 for children, $5 for parking charger. Elephant exhibit is currently under construction. Should open in Spring 2020. All special attractions and restaurants were closed. However there are several vending machines throughout the zoo for candy and drinks. Thinking of feeding the giraffes? Be prepared to pay $6 for three leafs of romaine lettuce. The exhibits are kept up very well, there are a lot of shaded walkways, and its just plain beautiful.Masks are required to be worn, but I noticed maybe a third of the people wore theirs so it covered both the mouth and nose with another third not wearing one at all. There is zero attempt to maintain distancing and the place is crowded enough that the maximum amount of distance you can keep from others while seeing anything is a foot or two, at most.

The staff is excellent and the zoo exhibits are nice. Theyre working on the new elephant area which will be great Im sure. Plenty of food, drink, and rest areas. Fee is 16 for adults now but its to help maintain a great zoo.

Had a very nice time at the Fort Worth Zoo. I enjoyed this zoo better then the Dallas Zoo. Even though it was hot there was plenty of shade throughout. Also plenty of air-conditioned areas to go in and get some cold air. My kids loved it. We enjoyed it so much we stayed for 5 hours.

My husband and I went to the zoo on our vacation to TX. Its a great zoo!! Nice and clean. Lots of animals to see. The animals looked well cared for. There is some renovations going on. Its mostly in the elephant area. Theres a lot of cool animals to see. I loved the primate section. They also have an area where you can feed the giraffes. Its done at certain times of the day. Admission is very reasonable. I highly recommend!

This is probably the best zoo in the whole wide world. The attractions are entertaining and a bunch of fun too. Every animal is well fed and has a clean place to live and is given toys and others to play with. Overall a great place to take a family for spring break or in the fall, if you go in the summer be sure to drink lots of water and have the sunscreen ready.

Decided to come and visit zoo 1st time. This zoo was not a go to place what so ever. This deserves a zero star!!!!!!!Especially since this pandemic is still going on. Folks have no masks on, the capacity was so full we had to leave. We may have been outside but no one and I mean no one was practicing social distance. I am very angry no refunds are assessed. This is a disappointment. Once you have been to Memphis zoo and Animal Kingdom Disney World this zoo was a honest joke and we will not be back. I mean it was unbelievable how many people showed up today and the zoo allowed this. Go to Disney World animal kingdom where they actually make you leave if you do not practice social distance. Do not go to this zoo especially during this time with the pandemic. The zoo itself I never actually seen nothing since the place was so darn crowded.

A great place to see a lot of different animals. It is bigger than I originally thought it would be. I am a member so I go to get my steps in! Half of the zoo is set up like the old west which gives both history and Zoology. The other half is set up like the Africa savanna. Highly recommend this place

Make sure you have a reservation! Didnt realize had to have one. But it was super easy to make one online. Able to feed giraffes and birds still! Didnt make it to the other side this time but kids had a blast.

This zoo is so much fun, I love the exhibits - I just need to learn to go when its not a bazillion degrees outside! Definitely worth visiting on half price day (Wednesdays)!!! But make sure to being plenty of water!!!

This zoo says its rated number 1... and theres no possible way. Its pretty enough, but having exhibits isnt the same as having quality exhibits. Their penguin space has nothing on the St. Louis zoo, among many other complaints. I think Im spoiled by my citys zoo and think this one needs to step their game up big time.

Really good zoo. Animals have nice enclosures and didnt seem too stressed or miserable at being locked up. Lots of shade as you walk round. The reptile exhibit was very good and a good spot to cool off for a while. Shops, cafes and other amusements as you would expect. Thought it was very reasonably priced for several hours of enjoyment.
